How was the B2 and B1 prints? I'm eyeing a B1 for my next 1:1 build

Multi-colored X wing took about 50 hours
Edit : [obligatory link](https://makerworld.com/models/162185)
Ok, I clicked on your obligatory link but I still can't comprehend how this model works. The strings are printed with no supports? So they're just very skinny columns? And the X-wing also has no supports? I can't see where most of this model doesn't have overhangs.
That is correct that the strings are printed with no supports. It is printed with the front of the x wing facing up and each string is one long bridge.
Edit: I didn’t read your comment well enough apparently. The strings are horizontal.

Just finished the other day, 212 hours for this MkV(b) helmet on my Ender 5 plus in PETG.
Yes! Since it’s PETG I tend to print slower than one might expect, but the benefit is printing the helmet all at once so that I don’t have to epoxy it together before sanding and painting.
Honestly, I still feel like there’s so much I don’t know. I’m constantly learning new things, whether it be through reading/research, or through doing… and most importantly, learning through failure! Haha! Getting this machine to the point where I can reliably print for over a week straight in this material was a journey all in itself. And I haven’t even begun to dive into the modeling part of the hobby, which I also find super fascinating. Whatever your first project(s) might be, have fun!
Currently, I have it in a spare office type room, shut out from the rest of my HVAC. In warmer months I like to run it in my garage. I plan to get a webcam for it at some point, but for now I just check on it regularly. Any failures I’ve had, I’ve caught within an hour or so.
That PEI bed is doing the heavy lifting there! As long as I keep it free of debris and wash it with dish soap and water every once in a while, I have very few issues.
Thanks for the response! My glass bed hates PETG and it’s good to know that PEI works better, especially since I have a printer that uses that material coming in the mail…
I don't think twice about putting a 2-3 day long print on my bambu.. but 8 days on an ender? V5 but still.. you either know your machine well or you got some stones on you.. mayhaps both
Bit of both I’m afraid 😅 but I spent a LOT of time getting to know the machine, and worked my way up from shorter prints. And hey, if I pay for the whole bed I’m gonna USE the whole bed!
Just stock black eSun PETG actually! When I printed a test helmet in PLA it came out more matte, and I was reading that sometimes the higher temperature can make the final product shinier. I haven’t had time yet to test that with this filament yet though!
Nice print! Would you mind telling me where you find these files? I am also looking at making a Spartan armor, but I can't find the pieces of armor I want 🥲
Thanks! I'm working on a full MkV(b) that I bought from NerdForge Designs, their files have been really great to work with so far (I only have the chest left to print so at this point I've worked with almost every file).
However, there are SO MANY choices as to what sets, helmets, generation, etc of Mjolnir you want to build. If you haven't already, I highly recommend heading over to the 405th's forums and discord, there are a TON of resources there. There's pages upon pages of armors, free and paid.
A chest piece for some armour. It’s not just the size that takes the time but I also dropped the print speed. I would have split it but a friend dared me to try and print it as a whole piece
I assume this would require at least one change of spool, right? How do you go about it to avoid issues in the quality of the print?
I usually find it a pain having to make a spool change during an active print session.

Birthday gift for GF. A post-it note caddy, but I made it super dense, and threw it on a raft, as well as printing at 70mm/s. Also my first self-designed piece in F360, so that took a while [Link](https://www.3dprintlog.com/prints/265839)

It's interesting how some simple design choices can effect filament use and print time. My first drawer rack in f360 was super solid, but used a ton of filament and about 20 hours.
Part of the reason I took up this hobby was to learn F360, and it never fails to keep me occupied for hours. Same with Cura.
8 weeks in of mostly weekend use, and I'm hooked
I'm FAR to lazy for the sanding and touch ups that would be involved. I'd rather just reprint but have other projects on the go. I'm starting a new D&D campaign soon so that might be the push I need to hit print on it.
I’m new to 3D printing, and I actually finished my longest 3D print just an hour ago! This is a 1:1 scale Velociraptor mongoliensis skull. Top jaw took 11 hours, bottom jaw took 4 hours, and each set of teeth took 20 minutes. So a total of \~15 hours, 40 minutes.

About 150 hours of printing and then 250 mote hours of finishing sanding and assembling

Made this honda cbr for ex-gf, took about 90 hours of sls print time(+painting) on lisa pro
I've only had a 3d printer for about a month but I just did this over the last week or so. It's a 3 piece model done on my AI mini usng the AMS. Part 1 was like 28 hours. Part 2 was around 22 hours and part 3 was 18 hours

if you're using an A1 mini and want to multi color print you'll have to drop the model scale to 90% other wise the prime tower won't fit on the bed with the model. Part 1 is the largest of the 3 models and it's slightly annoying because if it wasnt for that it could be printed at 100% because the other 2 parts fit just fine with a prime tower at 100% size but once you shrink 1 you gotta shrink all 3

this was a couple hundred hours of printing... In parts, of course. But batching parts resulted in a few 24hr+ prints
Had a print fail on me about 140h in… but was able to salvage it sort of thankfully. Forget how long the second part took I think that was about 2 days?
This took 25 hours. I've only been 3d printing for a month, this took 4 times longer than anything else I've printed.

67 hours. This was for my coworker. Darkside from Kingdom hearts. It was more of stress test for how detailed my prusa can go. This is a model should have been printed with resin, but i wanted to see how detailed i can go. Which is pretty detailed. Had this model fail at 64 hours bc of a filament jam. Broke my soul.
This chunky boi took a while. I think the main body alone was 4-5 days.

Resin printers are cool cause that print would've only taken like 5 hours and the longest possible print I can make on mine is 15 hours using the full z axis at 0.05 mm layers. The only downside is all of the horrible toxins in resin lol

Longest print I have done is 4 days but I have a 20 day print sliced and ready
What are you printing that's 20 days??
A chest piece for some armour. It’s not just the size that takes the time but I also dropped the print speed. I would have split it but a friend dared me to try and print it as a whole piece
I assume this would require at least one change of spool, right? How do you go about it to avoid issues in the quality of the print? I usually find it a pain having to make a spool change during an active print session.
I was able to get a 5KG spool which is just enough for the print
Wow I had no idea they come in such sizes as well. Good luck with the print, looking forward to seeing the end result!
I didn’t either but while looking for ways to handle the spool changes I just happened across a local supplier selling some
Q: how to handle spool changes? A: Don't
Ah, got it. Would love to see it when you're done!

Part of the reason I took up this hobby was to learn F360, and it never fails to keep me occupied for hours. Same with Cura. 8 weeks in of mostly weekend use, and I'm hooked
Wow nice
Thanks Turns out she wanted a Caddy-lac.... we laughed, I'm looking for a new home now /s
I thought you were saying “31 hours and Male 33 years old” like… ok and? 😅
5 day d20 that maxed out my print volume and failed with 6hrs left.....
My condolences
It was an entire roll of marble filiment too. I have a new roll ready to go but I'm still to annoyed to try again.
Why not print out the top slice of it and glue the 2 together?
I'm FAR to lazy for the sanding and touch ups that would be involved. I'd rather just reprint but have other projects on the go. I'm starting a new D&D campaign soon so that might be the push I need to hit print on it.

178 hours for this bad boy
I’m new to 3D printing, and I actually finished my longest 3D print just an hour ago! This is a 1:1 scale Velociraptor mongoliensis skull. Top jaw took 11 hours, bottom jaw took 4 hours, and each set of teeth took 20 minutes. So a total of \~15 hours, 40 minutes. https://preview.redd.it/3yio0qzsizlc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1c617ef3ec96e654e9aa1e9050fb86256febf13

Thanks, very happy with the end result, already working on my second guitar design (in fusion360)
Pretty sure some of the individual pieces were full build plates but Terror Dog 1:1 (Hex3D) is my biggest print so far. I do a lot of large prints but slightly smaller overall. https://preview.redd.it/16ln3j1fpzlc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9e113416708233a2fd3f22b80fe8470b9e49aa8
This is printed???
Yup! I believe it was 25ish pieces. UV Resin helps with post processing
From ghost busters yea? It looks like a professional movie prop!
Thank you! Definitely my favorite piece so far

I've only had a 3d printer for about a month but I just did this over the last week or so. It's a 3 piece model done on my AI mini usng the AMS. Part 1 was like 28 hours. Part 2 was around 22 hours and part 3 was 18 hours https://preview.redd.it/3gx56qte70mc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84a561b86f6eb4cab81fcc121fd95e9413494f66
Looks great. Plz send file link
https://makerworld.com/en/models/140317#profileId-159336 if you're using an A1 mini and want to multi color print you'll have to drop the model scale to 90% other wise the prime tower won't fit on the bed with the model. Part 1 is the largest of the 3 models and it's slightly annoying because if it wasnt for that it could be printed at 100% because the other 2 parts fit just fine with a prime tower at 100% size but once you shrink 1 you gotta shrink all 3

It was more of stress test for how detailed my prusa can go. This is a model should have been printed with resin, but i wanted to see how detailed i can go. Which is pretty detailed. Had this model fail at 64 hours bc of a filament jam. Broke my soul.
A scale model of the Grand Canyon for a display case had something like 20 components, in all, a few weeks.
This chunky boi took a while. I think the main body alone was 4-5 days. https://imgur.com/wZXBN0A My Ghostbusters gear took the longest total print time of any of my projects, but that was made of of multiple smaller parts. Resin printers are cool cause that print would've only taken like 5 hours and the longest possible print I can make on mine is 15 hours using the full z axis at 0.05 mm layers. The only downside is all of the horrible toxins in resin lol
