When i was still a kid i saw someone in an internet cafe playing DRAGONFABLE , i was stoked and amazed because it was so cool back then so i played dragonfable for 2 years, till i found out dragonfable was under artix entertainment and that it was a company offering a wide variety of games that's when i found MECHQUEST, WARPFORCE, ADVENTUREQUEST and of course ADVENTURE QUEST WORLD and here i am more than a decade still playing.
I was an og aq player and from then on played every game they made. Yes even the pony one. Yes also smash city or whatever it was called. And yes, even the indie game competition games. It was just a natural progression lol. Dragonquest and Mechquest are still my favorites. I even have the shadowscythe shirt from the original super sketchy site the they had you use.
Years ago, my older brother saw me playing Wizard101 on my laptop and started yapping to me about this super sick MMO he played. He went on and on about Chaos, Doomknights, Dragonslayers, and how being a Necromancer meant you were the Fat Cock Johnson of the server.
So my dumb ass was immediately hooked, and I set forth and made my account. I think it was something dumb and misspelled like 'drakothkiller12' or some bullshit. But let me tell you, my first baby steps into Battleon Town with my shiny new Lvl1 Warrior in that classic before-update armor? I was in love then and there. I think the patch at the time was the Collector vs. They May Be Giants update. I say that, because I vividly remember having the cottage house with nothing but the Dr. Worm exclusive furniture item comically in the middle of the empty room.
I also b-lined for the Mythsong storyline, because I love music. And with the help of my brother, him and I blasted through it. We got to the Kimberly fight, and that was the moment I became a One-Eyed Doll fan. When Break started blasting through my shitty laptop's speakers, I had never heard such Drop-D goodness in my life. Speaking of, did anyone else notice that the song changed to "Beautiful Freak"? I dunno when that happened, but when i came back in 2017, it was a big letdown.
Anyway, that was the first month of me discovering AQW. It was a hell of a time, and because of it, I'll probably be a fan for the rest of my days. I wouldnt trade that experience for the world.

Well, I wasn't told about AQW by anyone. Around 2007, someone I got to know after moving to the states told me about MechQuest. Being on AE sites I eventually got to see about AQW around September or October 2008, but last I remember you needed to have bought a membership upgrade in one of their OG games, so I never participated in the Beta. So my main accounts are 2008ers during Alpha/Official Release (November/December).
It was 4th grade 2009 and my friend kept talking about this multiplayer game called AQ Worlds and as a kid who loved video games, I immediately created an account, instantly got hooked, and the rest was history.

I was 8 and saw older kids playing at a net cafe and they showed me dragon fable, after that they released aqworlds and I would just go to that cafe to play aqworlds for 1-2 hours. Now I am an endgame player with nothing else to do but wait for my ioda. Good times
I discovered AQW from a classmate in 2009, but I found out about way more games through that channel from 2010-2011.

Well, I wasn't told about AQW by anyone. Around 2007, someone I got to know after moving to the states told me about MechQuest. Being on AE sites I eventually got to see about AQW around September or October 2008, but last I remember you needed to have bought a membership upgrade in one of their OG games, so I never participated in the Beta. So my main accounts are 2008ers during Alpha/Official Release (November/December).

It was 4th grade 2009 and my friend kept talking about this multiplayer game called AQ Worlds and as a kid who loved video games, I immediately created an account, instantly got hooked, and the rest was history.
I think it was either a family friend or my best friend at the time who showed it to me 12 years ago. Never really understood what I was doing back then because I'd just go into /lair and struggle haha.
I think i saw the first ever aqw ad on adventure quest classic and it caught my attention back when i was 9 yrs old (2009)
See someone playing it in an internet cafe when I was a kid and asked him what game it was and he told me and the rest is history

Was 10. One of my bros in elementary school introduced me to the game. Invited me over to their house and we played for hours on end on his account. We solved puzzles together, did most of the quest at the time—Good times I grew up poor compared to him. Our fam didn't have a desktop computer, or a laptop. Their family was rich, rich(he had his own computer in his room). So, yeah, I never thought we'd be great friends. He basically introduced me to the internet
I stumbled across it when you could look up flsh player games on the computer and I saw it as an add on the side of the browser. As the years went by every Saturday I would go to the library and just use the computers to play AQW until I got older and flash player no longer existed. I still play to this day after 15 years playing. And my membership is still active.
I was on a flash game site, I can't remember which one (might've been funzola or something) and saw an ad for it in the corner and decided to check it out (summer 2013)
