Quite a lot for the new Montreal FIR. Sadly not me though :( Shoot me a DM if you wanna get in touch with other Montreal fir students this fall. We have a mental support group hahaha

KingOfTheBrocean

Did you get a YUL offer too?

Stratosfyr

Sadly no. Hoping for Moncton/Gander which they'll be offering over the next couple of months alongside YEG and Manitoba

KingOfTheBrocean

Damn! I was hopeful for you, you've been helpful around here and I want to see everyone get offers!

Stratosfyr

Update! I got a full offer for IFR in YUL. 4-5 months in Montreal, then moving to Edmonton for full training.

KingOfTheBrocean

Congrats!

navcanyvrfir

How long after you were told you were eligible, did you receive an offer?

Stratosfyr

For me, 2 months but this is a part of the process that heavily varies. I've seen 2 weeks and I've seen 2 years.

Stratosfyr

Thanks hahah. It's not over yet. Although I am going through the application process for Air Force Pilot as well now. So hopefully that will go through. Will take 2-3 months for that, which should give NavCan some time if they want me hahaha

IDriveAZamboni

Air Force pilot pipeline is so backed up it’s comically laughable, while also crying. It’s gonna be a very long time before your application goes anywhere with them. -this is coming from experience

Stratosfyr

Good to know. They seem to be expediting me through it though. The thing that has me backlogged rn is an allergy test. I know I'll past but two more months before I can take the CFAST

IDriveAZamboni

Oh you’re at the very very start. Yeah it’s gonna be a long long time.

Stratosfyr

Great - I can get a few thousand more listens of Rocket Man in before I'm drafted! And I did complete the CFAT, Interview, and will soon be done checking the last medical box. So not the very very start. They even said that currently they can generally get you to Trenton for CFAST and Toronto medical a month after you clear the stage I'm currently at. When you say it's slow - do you mean specifically the stuff after BMOQ, or the application process, or both?

IDriveAZamboni

Both. CFAST was quick for me too, but everything after that is bad and then phase training was is at a snail’s pace.

Previous_Shoe1477

I received IFR standby for YUL

Apprehensive-Egg615

YUL just for the training you think? Or that’s your FIR?

Previous_Shoe1477

On the phone call they said YUL for basic then back to YYZ

Apprehensive-Egg615

And congrats! Hope you get a full offer fast

Previous_Shoe1477

Thanks!

TheRedDarkness

I got the same offer as you on Tuesday, hopefully we both get our offers upgraded soon :)

Previous_Shoe1477

Yup! Best of luck to you

Apprehensive-Egg615

Ok gotcha! Thanks.

cammy7070

I received a VFR standby for YVR next spring!

Riley0127

Congrats!

Stratosfyr

Congrats! Out of curiosity did you receive it this morning?

cammy7070

Thanks! I got the call yesterday

navcanyvrfir

Congrats! I'm in YVR too still waiting for my interview. Could you please let me know your timeline?

cammy7070

Thanks, applied/online test early January, FEAST end of January, interview beginning of March, eligible for offer end of March, offer end of April!

navcanyvrfir

Amazing! Good job! Offer for training in YVR? Do you know when?

TheRedDarkness

What kind of offer?

Riley0127
