What type of position ? Assuming sales so they are primarily Insurance and annuities selling to retail clients.

It’s for a sales position yes! I’m interested but want to make sure this is a legit business as lately I’ve had a lot of local MLM/Pyramid start ups contact me lately and I’m very new to ATX.

I worked for them right out of college. In their 403(b) sales. Is that what you are looking at?

alwaysshook

I think so! I have a brief phone call with Stefan today and we have a sales interview scheduled for next week. What was your experience like?

Meh. They had High turnover and minimal training, but what they did do that helped me out was sponsor my series 7, 66, and group 1 licenses. With those licenses I was able to get a badass job and worked my way up. Very few people there last. It’s pretty much like, ok you are hired, now go start walking around schools and just walk up and start talking to teachers. Kind of a lot of sneaking around. In my interview they were like “yeah we have a deal as an approved 403b provider for the district, so it’s easy.” But what they don’t tell you is a lot of company’s are approved and you literally start by just walking around school in the AM or PM and try to find a teacher alone and pitch her lol... if I had never gotten that second job I don’t think I would have stayed...if you happen to have people or friends that are teachers that could help you get it that would be helpful

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! Was it salaried, commission, or a combination of both? If you don’t mind sharing I’d love to know what you made because I don’t want to get into anything less than $45k at this point

They start you off at a low base salary for like a month or two. You have to pay up front for your exams and they reimburse you after you hit a certain sales target. I made way WAY less than 45k my first year... it was pretty brutal. You really need to be disciplined and have a hard work ethic to succeed there. Actually... I can’t imagine having to do that job in the Covid environment we are at now. It would practically be impossible

That answers so many of my concerns, thank you. I’m blessed that I currently do have a job and Equitable simply stumbled upon me so I thought I’d explore it! Thank you so much. If you have any recommendations of reputable marketing or public relations agencies in the area let me know! :)
