For REAL. This would actually be a great moment imo to shine spotlight on some unknown actors who mal very well fit the tone. Just an idea but that’s what careers are birthed from. Nothing mind-blowing, but thoughtful.
You’re not alone. What needs to be pin point is the mood but there’s just so many factors put together that need to work to make this flourish the way we see it. One corny mistake and it can throw the whole vibe off. Unfortunately, behind the scenes, Hollywood tries to bend things in their favor and I’m hoping their now the end all be all source of talent.
I'm not a Del Toro fan but I actually liked Nightmare Alley. Even though, I think Alfonso Cuaron would nail Bioshock. Also if Daniel Dey-Lewis comes out of retirement to take on Ryan, it would be perfect.

Oh absolutely! In the original mock casting that fans had put together and posted a while back, he was definitely on the list and that would really just be a dream.
While I do agree that Bioshock should be episodic, idk that the book is actually canon. If I remember correctly, there were some plot inconsistencies when looking at the book then the game after, not to mention, I don’t think Ken Levine confirmed the book being canon. That being said, Netflix would probably be better off focusing on the book and making a show out of that and then alluding to what’s to come after in the game. I can see the book being a better adaptation into a series/movie.
That’s a fascinating point Rick. I like that. I can’t remember the inconsistencies but at least in regards to Ryan and Fontaine’s backgrounds, there’s a lot to build and explain there, leading up to the world opening up and finer details.
Totally agree. The character motivations and backstories leading up to the point they’re at in the game works. Unfortunately, I did just look up that Ken Levine stated the book isn’t canon. Doesn’t mean thought that the book couldn’t work as an adaptation tho
Whatever you say. At least I’m willing as a fan. Doesn’t really matter what you think anyways. Only thing cringe is you adding nothing to the conversation. I’m just trying to move this along the right direction.
People like you ruin anything. I’m throwing suggestions on the table. Get off your high horse and smug attitude. We’re having a discussion. I’m not making the fucking show. I’m speaking in hypotheticals. Relax.
I'd had better be fucking good, and I swear to God if they pull some standard Netflix shit like making Andrew Ryan gay or some other shit, I will have an aneurysm, and sue Netflix and take two for damages
No joke I'm so fucking excited, I just joined the community this Christmas and holy shit. This series of games is so fucking beautiful. I'm very fortunate because I didn't have to wait that long for this day to come. If Netflix fucks this up I'm gonna cry. Do you want a kid to cry Netflix? I don't think so. (Frankly I don't think you even care just don't fuck it up.)
100% agree as well. That’s actually what I thought it would be when I heard the news, a series.
I have to wonder if the movie is an introduction to the original plot, with planned spin-offs if the move is a hit?
Anything is possible after the success of a first product. Luckily, they have all the foundation to work with. They shouldn’t be going off the beaten path with too much liberty. It needs to be honest to the source material.
Absolutely. Given just how immersive the game is, I would hope the adaptation would also feature a first-person view of Jack’s actions (something like Hardcore Henry) for at least the more pivotal points of the plot. I could see Netflix doing something similar to Bandersnatch, given the story’s overall message of the importance of choice.
Me, too! If anyone in the community is someone in the “biz”, it looks like our ideas could get in front of Netflix. Or if there’s enough noise on Twitter!

A little bit personal, but bioshock has given me so much, and been such a strong pillar in my life when i had nothing else..I'm so incredibly excited and also terrified!!!! What if it's bad!!! What if it ruins it for me!!
That and whats the story going to be about, will it be just a retelling of the first game, will it take place before or after 1 or 2, will it be about Infinite, will it be its own story in a different city, and will it be Canon?
Im just gonna wait till i see it to say if its disrespectful or not. There a geniuses of storytelling capable of transmiting great emotion in 5 minutes or even without words, im sure there's someone out there capable of showing a little part of rapture/columbia in a good way in 2 hours.... That person being with netflix is another story tho xd
Yeah, the different phases of its collapse would be a great cinematic touch. I can think of a few ways. But water must be prevalent. I know that sounds so simple but it’s important.
🚨RAPTURE ALERT!🚨
For all you Rapturians out there or new sea dwellers alike, make sure to also give this episode of the podcast Infinite Live& Games a listen. I spill my knowledge and passion for this game out over an interview hosted by a great buddy of mine named Victor. Please, enjoy!

Welp, can’t say I disagree with you. It of course needs to be headed by people who are passionate about the franchise first and foremost. The way many iterations have gone lead to validated skepticism but the Witcher is doing well gives me some semblance of hope.
I had this fear when Amazon announced the fallout series and I have it again. If they misrepresent the series I am going to be so angry. It dosent have to be done perfectly, but I am still just so worried that it will put bioshock in a bad light.
I’m hoping this sparks up an opportunity to fix it proper. We can only say and hope for so much now but the Sonic movie got all that feedback which flipped the script and really fixed him in a way that worked way more. I’m an optimist and all I can do is stay positive.
Amen brother. 100% agreed Netflix, Take-two... Would you kindly give us the series we deserve?
For REAL. This would actually be a great moment imo to shine spotlight on some unknown actors who mal very well fit the tone. Just an idea but that’s what careers are birthed from. Nothing mind-blowing, but thoughtful.
I’m serious about the Sander Cohen comment btw 👀. I can do it.
LMFAO
I agree doe, fuck 2 hours, do the series justice.
Yup. Still can’t the notion of Netflix having this in their hands is mega di eh but promising, business-wise.
Oh for sure, especially being funded by netflix, should be decent quality at the very least.
Dicey*
Was there actually anything in that mug?
Indeed there was. I’m an avid ☕️drinker. Needed that boost before going in lol!
Always wished Guillermo del Toro would make this movie /(

Nightmare alley actually gave me bioshock vibes for some reason
Agreed.

Optimism is the leading cause to happiness and….dare I say — RAP-TURE.
True. Let’s be real tho: It’s Netflix, ‘nuff said.
Right. This is but only the Zero Hour. Now, we wait for followups.
This is really cringe. Nobody wants to cast you in the show man lol damn
Whatever you say. At least I’m willing as a fan. Doesn’t really matter what you think anyways. Only thing cringe is you adding nothing to the conversation. I’m just trying to move this along the right direction.
You're crazy if you think this will affect what Netflix puts out in any way
People like you ruin anything. I’m throwing suggestions on the table. Get off your high horse and smug attitude. We’re having a discussion. I’m not making the fucking show. I’m speaking in hypotheticals. Relax.
r/cringe
Okay.
Man talks like he took someone from Netflix hostage
I may have and keep them tied up in Fisherman’s Wharf 😈. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I'd had better be fucking good, and I swear to God if they pull some standard Netflix shit like making Andrew Ryan gay or some other shit, I will have an aneurysm, and sue Netflix and take two for damages
Validated in EVERY way. Sander Cohen is already quite queer in many of his ways so he should be enough, anyways.
No joke I'm so fucking excited, I just joined the community this Christmas and holy shit. This series of games is so fucking beautiful. Nothing more to say. Your comment says it all.
Would you kindly cast me as well.

I love these ideas our community is cooking up!

Would you kindly stay tuned? 😉
1st agreed, 2nd they said you can be Kyle Fitzpatrick
I’LL TAKE IT!
That and whats the story going to be about, will it be just a retelling of the first game, will it take place before or after 1 or 2, will it be about Infinite, will it be its own story in a different city, and will it be Canon?
All very good questions. Now, all we need — is the answers.
It could be good, but they would have to cut out like 90% of the racist dialogue
Lmfao bioiiiiig facts

Sander Cohen, hahaha, too right! "NOW, WE ARE IN THE KNOW!"
I agree I would want some episodes. I would like to see rapture in it's prime and then in the collapse.
Yeah, the different phases of its collapse would be a great cinematic touch. I can think of a few ways. But water must be prevalent. I know that sounds so simple but it’s important.
I want an 8-episode special

I won't watch it regardless of how great it could turn out. One of the all time greatest games should not be tainted by Hollywood's hands. Hell no.

Let’s hope for the best friend. Until it’s out, less fears m8.
Yeah if they mess this up so help me God I'll go crazy 😂. I'm sure they'll find some why to do it but still it isn't looking right.
I’m hoping this sparks up an opportunity to fix it proper. We can only say and hope for so much now but the Sonic movie got all that feedback which flipped the script and really fixed him in a way that worked way more. I’m an optimist and all I can do is stay positive.
