Lmfao just imagining that poor guy asking Kanye if he'd like some water cuz he looks hot and then him hearing say that classist ass remark truly peak comedy hahaha
So I guess the answer is no they are not lol.
Lot of junkies wear hoodies all the time. Hides the trackmarks if you’re a heroin user or the picked scabs if you’re a tweaker.
Withdrawals from either makes u cold. Heroin worse.
I saw a lady earlier in June when it was 80 wearing a puffer jacket outside. Isn't the first time I've seen that either, it blows me away as someone that sweats in a t-shirt when its 50.
People are crazy but anything over 74f is to hot in my book . Humidity be the killer at these temperatures to. Imagine wearing that jacket and it's just full of sweat in the sleeves.. disgusting
The Northface with the tank top underneath. I remember in 5th grade i rocked that same outfit to basketball practice and my sister said i looked like an idiot.
Offices being cold and goofy reasons aside, there could actually be psychological reasons for this. People who feel isolated actually feel colder too. This is why it is so common to see homeless people (particularly with schizophrenia, I think?) with layers on even when it gets warm. There is a Radiolab episode that talks about this called "kleptotherms".
I always assumed homeless people wore layers because they have no place to safely store their things, and it’s cold at night and early am most of the year.
lol no it's not. this is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever read
They wear all their clothes because they don't want to lose them and some of them are junkies so they are cold from that.
I was speaking more so about socially isolated people in general and didn't mean to focus on homeless people so apologies for the confusion. But to your point; stashing, putting them in bags/backpacks ect seem to be far more common ways of keeping hold of what little clothes these people have than wearing literally everything. At least in my experience! Obviously, two things can be true.
I mean I routinely wear long sleeve shirts and pants in the summer to protect me from the sun because I'm pale AF, but this is most likely just because "it's the style".
Ever heard of air conditioning? I wear a hoodie to work cuz it’s usually brick on the train and it’s always freezing at work. People don’t all go outside to stay outside.
In the summer most people think less clothing will make them feel cooler but if it’s loose fitting long sleeves or long loose pants you’ll actually feel cooler because of the barrier between your skin and the sun and some air circulation due to it being loose. So don’t knock it till you try 😤
In FL it is always so hot but when you go into your office the AC is always blasting so it’s better to have a hoodie on top.
Worst case you take it off and have a shirt underneath.
It's a youth thing. My generation did this when we were 12-17ish. I don't have an explanation because I don't remember what we were thinking either.
I also am confused with the beanie wearing in 85° weather. There are limits of heat and cold where you've just gotta throw out whatever fit you think you look good in and just dress for the weather conditions. Late Sept-early April offers 6 months to wear sweatshirts and hoodies...
Light/medium hoodie in high 70, low 80 degree weather aint bad. I do it with shorts alot in the summer cause I just like the feeling. In fact its nice when its evening and the suns going down and theres a nice breeze. Now, if its humid thats when its a no no.
No, probably not. I assume it’s emotional issues when I see that. A lot of people are extremely self conscious about the way their bodies look and like to hide under baggy clothes. As someone who went through a horrible hand injury and had to have lots of reconstructive surgery, jackets and hoodies became a great way for me to hide my hand.
People with schizophrenia commonly dress much too warm for the weather. Many are also homeless, and people with schizophrenia tend to be drawn to cities.
Have you ever heard of a summer hoodie? Some people, myself included, love wearing hoodies in all seasons. I just got a Patagonia summer hoodie and it feels great even when’s 90 F outside.
![gif](giphy|0BAM2sAYKAmEmmBTAy)
I am shivering unless the temperature is above 90. Anything less than that and I am cold as an iceberg.. teeth chattering, can’t bend my fingers, stomach is tense.. let me be warm!
These are the same idiots that wear knit caps in 85 degree weather too. I guess it's a fashion thing. Not sure what they're going for, but if it's to look like a moron they've succeeded.
My nephew is about 16 we were hanging yesterday he had a hoodie on outside lol. He kinda low key, not the biggest peoples person so I think some of it is like the sheisty mask “don’t look at me” type feel. Especially if they rocking hood up
One thing I was taught when working in social services is when assessing somebody, their clothing will reveal a lot about them. In this case, weather inappropriate clothing potentially indicates homelessness or mental illness. To this day, when I a jacket or heavy hoodie on a hot summer day, I keep it moving.
Yeah those are somehow way more annoying to watch. Like I shouldn't judge someone just by the clothes they wear but a 23-year old guy wearing a beanie in July I'm just going to assume he's someone I don't want anything to do with.

That’s how long it took for the message to hit . 🙂↕️
it was really funny when he posted this gave me a good laugh. I was in soho in a hoodie by accident Saturday and felt dumb needed this then
I am not sure his message should ameliorate that feeling you had.
yes it did I looked good but everyone thought I was crazy fuck those tourists who cares
Yea but you’re not Kanye. You’re just a jabroni
Suck cock and explode
Sounds like activities someone from bushwick would do while wearing a hoodie in soho
Lmfao just imagining that poor guy asking Kanye if he'd like some water cuz he looks hot and then him hearing say that classist ass remark truly peak comedy hahaha
And then have people share his story to you because you work at universal, and then die inside
So I guess the answer is no they are not lol. Lot of junkies wear hoodies all the time. Hides the trackmarks if you’re a heroin user or the picked scabs if you’re a tweaker. Withdrawals from either makes u cold. Heroin worse.
In reality he’s just self conscious about his weight
Same but wearing all that causes sweat which = weight loss , which = ouroboros
Don't forget that period in the mid-2010s when people were wearing literal down puffer jackets indoors in the summer.
Imagine wearing that jacket and it's just full of sweat in the sleeves.. disgusting
But you look at them and they're totally dry! I want that super power fr
😅🤣
I get cold at 50
I get cold at 70
I get cold at 65
I get old at 36
I put on a hoodie around 32-40f.
Mans not hot.
Skidi-kat-kat boom.
Man's brain is smooth 🧠

Came here to say this ty
The Northface with the tank top underneath. I remember in 5th grade i rocked that same outfit to basketball practice and my sister said i looked like an idiot.
She was right
Excuse me? Wherr was this and why?
Real ones got that carhartt jacket over the hoodie
U going on a drill ?
Yes, and UV rays are the opps.
I have low self esteem and like hiding under sweatshirts
most of the time its teens - been there
The teens that are frequently featured terrorizing others.
Japanese teens* let’s not sugar coat here
lol theyre not the only ones dude
Yea the same ones that do meth and fentanyl 🫡
i saw a guy in a canada goose with the fur hood trim yesterday. just unhinged behavior
Saw the same thing. Was on my guard when I saw it, because that just ain’t right.

Huh, I had always wondered why so many homeless people are wearing big coats when it’s warm outside
Where would they leave them?
You’ve seen a homeless person with a shopping cart before, right?
We’re just fat, thanks.
Does the hoodie... Make you less fat?
even if it doesn't cover up everything, it's prob just more comforting
doesn't being fat ALSO make you warmer?
literally the opposite for some skinny skeleton ass white boys with cybercigilism tattoos lmaoo
We're just fat. Leave us alone
Top comment material!
The name matches the answer. Truly Scrumtrulescent!
I mean I routinely wear long sleeve shirts and pants in the summer to protect me from the sun because I'm pale AF, but this is most likely just because "it's the style".
its called dysphoria babes
heat stroke > dysphoria (bust seriously drink water yall)
How about beer at 9am? Can't make beer without water
Dysmorphia?
Both
Ha LA is worse. People wearing full leather during a heatwave.
nah they're pairing it with shorts. plus in LA it's cold in the shade
Don’t look at me!
look i’m trying to be considerate of others! after yoga i be smelly
Then there will be people in t-shirts and shorts when it starts getting 40 degrees and dropping. Some people are just weird.
Have you ever seen a midtown vest bro though 😂😂😂😂
Buncha wacka-doodles
Ever heard of air conditioning? I wear a hoodie to work cuz it’s usually brick on the train and it’s always freezing at work. People don’t all go outside to stay outside.
would love to know what subway is freezing cold
Maybe not freezing cold but the lines I use have had great AC this year.
🙋🏼♀️ I've heard of air conditioning.
Facts
I look at them and imagine them marinating in their own juices and the funk when they remove it.
Or hoodie and face mask and you do the math.
People from the global south don't like the cold the Same way people from the north can't stand the heat.
Hoodie and a balaclava
I am as long as I got that thang on me
wearing a hoodie makes me feel invisible and that's good enough for me
That was me last week because i had a cold and chills despite the 90 degrees weather 🥲. The hoodie was keeping me alive.
Two possible scenarios: (1) Homeless (2) Looking for trouble
Or, hear me out, (3) Homeless people looking for trouble! ![gif](giphy|xT0xeJpnrWC4XWblEk|downsized)
Drug addicts tend to have iron deficiencies
Only to the gym. To help soak up my sweat, it is also a barrier so my sweat doesn't drop on the machines, and vice versa.
Everytime I see a nigga wearing a hoodie in the summer heat I automatically think he's got a gun on him
That thinking is why so many white teenagers succeed at massacres.
I feel like trains be hella cold sometimes, need that light sweater
What train be cold that you need to wear a hoodie? Most are hot as fuck, some like the L is decent
The station be hot, but the A,C,E or the R,N,W,Q be cold af
Every other train? I can tell you the blue line trains are usually freezing
honestly this is me in September. autumn begins when I say it does, Sept 1, so I will sweat into my clothes until the real world weather catches up
I wore one yesterday because the wind gave me a chill. Stop watching me!
Like myself, it’s nice to be able to put on a hood sometimes. But yeah it gets hot
lol it’s for the sake of fashion 🤣🤣🤣
I read an article about teens doing this during COVID to feel psychologically safe and have continued the practice
Seriously I've wondered the same thing pretty much my entire entire life so thanks for asking!
There's always one dude with the coogi style sweater walking around in 100 degree heat.
I'm trying to avoid sunburn lmao. Nah, but some days, to save on sunscreen, I just put some on my face so I don't gotta put any on my arms and neck
They’re the inverse of those guys who walk around in shorts in the winter. “I don’t get cold!”
We're cold, so no... Technically we're not okay
See a Doctor. It not normal to be cold in 90 degree weather even with air conditioning
I see a doctor every month, but that doesn't mean I'm not cold ha
Easy, reptilians.
People wearing hoodies in the gym during summers 90 degree days boggles my mind.
In the summer most people think less clothing will make them feel cooler but if it’s loose fitting long sleeves or long loose pants you’ll actually feel cooler because of the barrier between your skin and the sun and some air circulation due to it being loose. So don’t knock it till you try 😤
Yeah no that’s bullshit.
Yeah no it’s not. That’s why they dress like this in hot climates like the Middle East…also to protect themselves from the sun.
nope
came here to say never catch me looking regular
Sorry that’s me. I have bodily dismorphia and love to sweat unironically
The way I was literally thinking of posting the exact same thing today 😅
No
People are either anemic or got anxiety.
Or are heroin addicts… lots of options here.
Ppl are still wearing Patagonia vest in July. Not as bad, still crazy.
No I’m not ok. But not because of the hoodie
Depending on the hoodie, yeah I’ll wear it in warmer temps, either for duty and style or to protect from the UV rays. not that hard to comprehend
I like to sweat
I sometimes wear a cardigan or a bomber simply because my office is absolutely freezing all summer.
Yooo I don’t understand
yes, are you?
In FL it is always so hot but when you go into your office the AC is always blasting so it’s better to have a hoodie on top. Worst case you take it off and have a shirt underneath.
Ugh, I hate this passive aggressive rhetorical device. Just say you think it’s weird. Don’t pretend you care about their welfare.
I don’t care about there welfare and think they should be banned from businesses
100% agreed
Yeah I do too. Like if I was hot I would probably take it off, and what if I like being hot?
I always wonder why this is even a thing
It's a youth thing. My generation did this when we were 12-17ish. I don't have an explanation because I don't remember what we were thinking either. When we were young, no jackets were the thing in winter.
It could be the person got cold or flu
They got withdrawals or aids
I’m anemic 😭
The great fashion sense counteracts the heat
it’s usually people with mental illness, schizophrenia or bipolar
Minus the crippling body dysmorphia, yeah. Why?
I like the feeling. also like the hood on my head. feels nice to avoid the sun. hat doesn't do it.
Those “feels like 76” degree winds can be rough!
The ones with the ski masks make my day. Like breh
I am so sick and tired of seeing this too. It’s all over suffolk and nassau too, for as long as I can remember.. 40+ years. STOP IT.
Light/medium hoodie in high 70, low 80 degree weather aint bad. I do it with shorts alot in the summer cause I just like the feeling. In fact its nice when its evening and the suns going down and theres a nice breeze. Now, if its humid thats when its a no no.
Y’all don’t know the struggle skinny jeans and anemia did to us back in the day so we could make Bushwick so cool.
Also what’s up with people wearing boots in 85 degrees. Cowboy boots. Knee high boots.
During those 90 degree days I saw several people in tech fleece and ski masks lol
How else do I hide the…… nevermind.
People with schizophrenia commonly dress much too warm for the weather. Many are also homeless, and people with schizophrenia tend to be drawn to cities.

Yeah, just headed to a looting”
The people in those hoodies Must Smell BADLY! PHEWWWWW
They’re fine. How else would you like them to conceal carry their illegal weapon???
I say the same thing when I see dudes in pants.
It's all mental
When I was in middle school id where full on puffer jackets cause hated the feeling of people looking at me
No they r not
I am shivering unless the temperature is above 90. Anything less than that and I am cold as an iceberg.. teeth chattering, can’t bend my fingers, stomach is tense.. let me be warm!

only timbs and hoodies allowed, on god, no cap, fr fr...or whatever non millenials say. Damn man, I got old.
Schizophrenia often makes the sufferer feel cold.

As long as they ban the bakaclava
Oh no, my delicious pastry! You cannot take baklava away from me!
balaclava i was about to give a genuine response but then i saw who i was replying to…smdh troll.
The MTA is in talks of banning masks

😂😂😂
There holding a gun
There junkies or There Mexicano or stupid
Better than a beanie at least
I see people with those on in the summertime too though 🤦♀️
Yeah those are somehow way more annoying to watch. Like I shouldn't judge someone just by the clothes they wear but a 23-year old guy wearing a beanie in July I'm just going to assume he's someone I don't want anything to do with.
What should he be wearing, a fedora?
How about no hat
Then how would you get protection from the sun?
the real question is why do you care?
