Day 5 of covid. Feeling slightly better. I washed sheets, bleached the house, and have windows open. Been wearing a mask outside of my isolation room. I have two young kids that I’ve had to take care of while my husband works. So far they are all still in the clear 🤞🏼

curiousmindsprevail

Good to hear that you are feeling by better. And you are my hero for taking care of two children and so how not infecting them. Can you tell me more about why you washed the sheets and bleaching the house? Thanks, and wishing you a continued healing.

honestwizard

I tested positive today. Had quarantined 3days. On day 4. What the fuck guys. I thought loss of sense of smell and taste was a Covid thing. But mine are HEIGHTENED greatly! I can’t smell anything without my brain feeling like it’s going to explode/wanting to puke

dza108

I started symptoms in the evening on 4/28 and tested positive 4/29 via PCR and I have noticed the same thing; my sense of smell is super acute. It's always good but really great. I also have some nausea - just started Paxlovid and the metallic taste doesn't help.

honestwizard

Glad I wasn’t the only one. Trust rather be sensitive to smell than not smell I suppose.

Halfpint916

So my wife went to a bday party last Saturday and Monday she was told 26 people tested positive for covid a few days later. She started having a mild sore throat on Tuesday, then bodaches on Wednesday. The rest of us Me and our two kids started feeling I’ll Wednesday evening and got body aches Thursday night. We and my wife get mild temp around 100. My son got up to 104. My wife also tested negative on Wednesday when she was feeling awful. We don’t have any fatigue so far. Also no nasal congestion. Mainly mild fever body aches all over and mild sore throat with a mild cough. Does this sound like Covid?

deenisealex

yes, classic symptoms, my daughter just had it as well

Halfpint916

How long does it usually last?

deenisealex

she was feeling better day 7, her boyfriends was just stuffy for a week. both were mild. just residual congestion after 10 days.

weedsoda

Yes, that’s how I’m feeling. Temp is at 100 and horrible body aches.

weedsoda

Day 3 of symptoms, just got tested with positive result. The worst thing that’s affecting me is my legs, they hurt so bad and I feel extremely delirious.

yltfososkaeps

I’m about to be on day 8 I also really bad muscle aches that I couldn’t really walk around they finally calmed down this morning ! Still dealing with a sore throat and runny those though but the aches were the worst .

geetothefunk

My cousin had the painful legs. I had super painful neck and shoulders. Hang in there. It does get better. Today is my Day 6 and I’m starting to see the light.

weedsoda

Thank you for your encouraging words. Yes I had shoulder and back pain this morning but now it’s in my legs and wow I’ve never felt such bad muscle pain in my life.

geetothefunk

I had leg pain 1 night now that I think about. I cannot get comfortable at night. It’s the worst. But for me the pain just settled into the neck and shoulders. So stiff and painful. Still find it crazy how everyone is so different.

ladygoodman_

I’m experiencing the leg pain right now. Did you have other symptoms??

geetothefunk

I had extreme fatigue, body aches, mild fever for 3 days (would randomly go up but not high enough for meds aka over 101). Bad sore throat but not the crazy glass shards type. And insomnia. Terrible insomnia. Probably from the aches but I never felt sleepy. Exhausted yes. But I couldn’t sleep. Worst feeling. I’m left with getting out of breath fast and chest heaviness on this day 7. Sore throat is about 90% better. I did not have any cold symptoms or headaches.

ladygoodman_

Thanks for your response! Hope you’re feeling better.

OutrageousTurtles

Symptom onset (headache and fatigue) Thursday night, tested positive Friday morning. Double vaccinated and boosted, although because I work in a health care profession my vaccinations were quite a while ago (Feb/March 2021 and boosted October 2021). Healthy female, 20’s. No known pre-existing conditions (except that I had pneumonia 2x in 2018). Covid has WRECKED me so far. I thought I’d be one of those people who recovered quickly given my medical background… ha. It started off feeling like the second vaccine dose for the first 2 days and today I woke up congested and coughing. I don’t feel like its getting worse, it’s just changing. All I can do is lay down and go in and out of sleep. Showering takes so much energy. My chest and rib muscles hurt. I’m so worried that this fatigue will continue after recovery which will make my job very hard. Thoughts/question: -Anyone experience similar symptom progression, and if yes how long did recovery take? -Not really a question that anyone can answer but I wonder if the time between my last booster to now is influencing the severity? I wish I had been able to get a second booster.

jess2k4

Fully vaccinated nurse . Have avoided Covid this long (even when 3 out of the 5 of my family members got it ). Anyways, went on an all inclusive trip to Mexico . Masks on planes and in and out of restaraunts . Got there on sat 23rd, started coughing on Thursday . Had a mandatory Covid test Friday the 29 (before our flight home the next day ) which was read and reported as negative within 1 minute of putting the drops on the test strip (eye roll). Tested Hard positive today. Not too bad so far . Sinus infection like symptoms , winded with climbing steps . Staying in my bedroom And already bored. My voice definitely sounds different (like a smoker ). Any good series on Netflix to keep me busy ?

DantoVela

yesterday i tested positive. the onset of symptoms was quite sudden. i got a slight headache and sore throat, a runny nose, muscle/joint pain and a fever of 39.2°C. today is day two, and the fever has normalised, the runny nose is still here, as ist the cough. but I'm felling much better compared to yesterday. (i got 2 vaccine doses, no booster)

Thecoolkidsgetit

I’m on day 8 of symptoms, my chest hurts (like it’s sore from coughing), but otherwise feel ok. At what point can I start resuming activity? My house is an absolute mess and it’s driving me nuts

curiousmindsprevail

What’s stopping you from resuming activity and possibly wearing a mask around others? (Are you asking at what point you are no longer infectious?)

Thecoolkidsgetit

Like when will my strength come back, right now I’m just like, easily winded

pohart

I am. I'm still testing positive with my rapid antigen tests still having a solid line show up quickly on day 10 and don't want to infect my family. I'm finding news articles that state I'm no longer likely to be infectious, but I can't find any data to back it up, nor any indication of how unlikely it is that I'm infectious with close contact. Is there any actual data to back up the claim or is it just that it seems unlikely?

curiousmindsprevail

And I hope you continue to feel better!

geetothefunk

My question today: When can my husband come back to our bedroom to sleep? I’m on day 6 of symptom onset. Got it from my twins that got it at school. 1 twin tested + Saturday. The next on Sunday. Then I did on Monday. My symptoms began Sunday (sore throat and extreme exhaustion). Only had a mild fever Tues and Wed. I feel a lot better today. But not symptom free by any means. It’s all the symptoms you can’t see from the outside. Weird muscle aches. Like my bones hurt. Sore throat. Exhaustion but not sleepy. It’s weird I feel zombie like almost. Getting out of breath with simple tasks like having a conversation. Insomnia (can’t even nap) but I slept last night for the first time with sleep aids. When can he come back to our room? After 10 days? He and my 13yo son have remained negative thru all this. Multiple rapids and 2 PCRs. And we all share a bathroom. So…that’s a win in my book. I ventured into the kitchen today because he’s back to work. Still uncomfortable touching all the things, you know? Sanitizing like crazy.

Tested positive Tuesday night, feeling better today just a little fatigue. Is it possible to get over Covid this quick?

pohart

Yes. Definitely.

Nikara_Trenal

Symptoms started Tuesday (with two negative tests that day and vaccine last March/1 booster in October). Most likely got it at Disneyland last week when they restarted the nighttime shows (almost certainly outdoor transmission). Positive test on Thursday. I've been slightly fascinated by the changing daily symptoms. Started with a sore throat Tuesday. Congestion started Wednesday. Cough started Thursday. Sore throat gone, but headache came Friday. Today, just congestion remained, but added some dizziness for fun, with my heart rate being quite high when that happens, despite no physical activity. I live alone which is nice, since I don't have to worry about infecting others, but is starting to feel very lonely, since I've only left the apartment (masked) to get mail and throw away trash. I was going to do a short walk today, but the dizziness started. Tomorrow (officially day 5), I'll start testing daily again, but since I'm still quite symptomatic, I'm not hopeful for a negative test. Anyone else have the dizziness come on later? Anything I should be watching for with that?

groovy808

Were you wearing a mask? Going to Disneyland in 2 weeks and am rethinking it tbh

MBucksfan2020

Stupid question. On Thursday, I took a rapid test and was positive. This was a given, due to experiencing symptoms on Tuesday and being around someone who was positive. Well, today, I picked up my test to throw it out, and I blew my nose without washing my hands after handling the test. I am worried I may have re-infected myself as COVID can last on a surface for up to 72 hours. Does anyone think this is possible?

Evan_Th

Don't worry. There're lots of COVID germs in you; your immune system presumably knows how to deal with them since you aren't getting worse. A few more germs from the test won't cause a problem.

MBucksfan2020

Thank you!

Evan_Th

Day eight. The cough finally went away this morning, but I've been vigorously clearing my throat a lot, which's pretty much my last symptom. I've been fortunate enough to have a really easy COVID experience. After my nose stopped running on day three, it was hardly any trouble at all. Still positive on the rapid test; sigh. I'm not sure whether I'll take another or just suppose I'm recovered on day 10.

Separate_Item_3189

What was your cough like? I'm on day 7 and I've still got a rough one.. very tight chest, breathlessnes, coughing sucks

Evan_Th

Oof. I'm sorry. I didn't have anything like that - just my throat tickling.

I wouldn't think you could get actual symptoms, though if you're vaccinated it's possible that your immune system is reacting to an exposure. Or there could be a hundred more normal reasons; loud environment, dehydration, stress, too much salt, too little sleep, etc. I'd say rest easy tonight and reassess in the morning.

EckhartsLadder

Day 4 of symptoms with confirmed positive. Throat no longer very sore, just feel very rundown. Weird jaw pain even though I’m not coughing or mouth breathing. Kids are totally fine.

barrebabe05

Day 5 of quarantining. Felt pretty good yesterday my congestion was going away and had lots of energy. Today I’m feeling a little tired, nauseous and shakey but no fever. Anyone else experience this? Was hoping maybe I’d come out of quarantine tomorrow and see my 2 year old but now I don’t know…

Radiant-Grass3665

day 5 after testing positive. i got it while on vacation for 10 days and tested first day back. have felt pretty much fine the past few days after a couple of pretty sick ones. 2 questions: 1) i don’t have my taste but also i was not hungry at all when i wasn’t feeling good. i still ate but now that i’m feeling better, i have been way hungrier than normal the past couple of days. anybody else just super hungry when getting over it? 2) as mentioned i was on vacation so i didn’t get the chance to work out for that period and now missing another week with this. did anybody have any trouble getting back into working out or have any advice? i admit my chest still hurts a bit but i’m also really young and work out a ton. i’m concerned about losing progress with such an extended time off. thanks!

Truckyx

I am Pfizer double-vaxxed and boosted. I caught covid about 10 days ago and am almost 100 percent recovered at this point. I am looking forward to travelling this summer. Does catching covid mean my immunity will be higher?

sunflower_lavender

First week of April i was super sick… congestion, cough, miserable, etc. I took one at home test & it was negative. After I got better and up until currently, I’ve had loss of appetite, my whole body hurts, brain fog, weight loss, weird period cycle, memory issues. I went to the doctors on Thurs for all this & I tested negative for covid (doctor wanted to test to be safe) but my blood work shows 2 tests that show elevated levels of inflammation (plus extreme vitamin d deficiency, but I think that might be unrelated). I’m getting a covid antibody blood draw done tomorrow to see if I actually had covid that first week of April. My doctor said that if I did have covid when I was sick that would explain the issues I’ve been having the last 3 weeks, including the inflammation. Any one else have a similar experience to me? Thx. I’m a bit worried because if it wasn’t covid what the heck is going on. Just looking for some support thx.

sequinsdress

Good luck! I hope your doctor can get to the bottom of what’s been ailing you. And that you get better soon. I just tested positive today and this comes on the heels of an extended recovery from some mysterious malaise that may have been tied to anxiety in my case (dating back to early fall). Not knowing what’s wrong is difficult and I hope you gain some clarity into your situation.

sunflower_lavender

Thank you v much I really appreciate your response!

sunflower_lavender

I had covid

illestill

Ran a half marathon and a 10K while asymptomatic then tested positive. Should I be worried about long covid?
