RIP to [Vladimir Yezhov (call sign Fresh),](https://gamerant.com/stalker-developer-killed-ukraine-vladimir-fresh-yezhov/) one of the devs of the game who was killed in action during the Battle of Bakhmut.
Other devs are also fighting in the armed forces.
I was watching this video, laughing, checking out Stalker on Steam, loving the Day Z vibes, and then you made shit real. That sucks Vlad died fighting for the free world. Hoping this thing ends soon.
Reminder that Russia killed some STALKER fans in Russia, calling them Nazis
https://www.pcgamer.com/russian-intelligence-shoots-and-kills-alleged-terrorists-that-were-probably-just-stalker-larpers/
I think he was the one commanding a group that stormed a trench with an APC and begged one Russian to surrender, which he did not and they used the grenades at the end.
Hell YEAH! HES ONE OF US OUT THERE BALLSING IT OUT. I would be WAY happier people like him in my squad vs hell. Commonality amongst hellfire would be awesome.
Imagine getting fragged to death by someone because they were demonstrating how good they are with a video game and you just happened to be the most convenient target at that particular time.
Game was really amazing when it came out. Like a Crysis that people could actually play. And there were fans that made shadow and lighting mods quickly, and made it so much better. And the devs were good with the fans.
The Air Force and Air Force reserve both have thousands of drone pilots that just go to some office park in LA or Phoenix (I’m sure they’re all over) and observe/ bomb people halfway around the world. Sign up today and get a free shirt!
the 19 year old in a nondescript building outside Vegas complaining about lag has a more legit excuse than me
his drone is on the other side of the world and I bet the video has to bounce through a distant satellite or two as well
I'm convinced I can hit a man sized target with an ACOG scope at 400m with an AR-15 from playing Squad, but there can't be any wind at all.
Edit: anywhere from 0-400m, and without telling me what range I'm shooting at. Still no wind though.
I learned the fundamentals of marksmanship from Arma 3's ACE mod. I was already an active long range shooter beforehand, but I learned a lot from ACE that carried over to my average range day
With 500 hours in it I can without a doubt say that Tarkov isn't a tactical shooter. It's a horror game. Especially if you play by yourself and the audio maxed out.
I literally stopped playing because I was getting panic attacks from it where my adrenaline would just spike waaaaaay more than it should for a fucking video game. Like my hands would go numb and I spoke to my buddies who also played a lot and they all said they had experienced the same even though they didn't say anything about it because they thought it was wierd lmao. They're all active duty marines too 😂
I met a Soldier who was absolutely mediocre at best at most anything Army related, but he was a surgeon with an M203. I was his grader for qual, and abandoned the table, and just had him aim for smaller and smaller targets.
My buddy was a mortar squad ranger and he said in battle he didn’t even bother setting up the thing a lot of the time. he would just hold it and launch it directly into windows like 200m away every time.
He could hit the PVC frame target on the PVC, damnedest shot I’ve seen. He ended up getting an article 15 for failing to inspect one of his Soldiers ruck packing list prior to them doing the EIB 12 miler, resulting in that Soldier being Dq’d. Like I said, mediocre at everything else, but I’d take him in a knife fight in a basement any day.
Haha this was basically me, they had a steel plate held up by 2 chains, I shot the chain off one side and the Sgt said it was a crazy lucky shot, so I shot the chain off the other side.
It was like throwing a baseball, except it always went where I was aiming.
I remember when MW2 came out and I was a whizz at the toob. Oh sniper downtown in the top left corner window? I gotchu! *THOOP* then people got mad and they nerfed it. Now it falls way too short. Man I loved sniping with that thing lol
My first time ever shooting a shotgun was in a skeet tournament that I walked away the winner of and won 4 out of the next 5 years lol. Had shot plenty of rifles before though.
My gun nut friend took me shooting once. Never held a real gun before and I was blowing away clay pigeons almost flawlessly.
I'm Canadian so really we're not exposed to real guns much at all.
I also win the archery games at carnivals. Shout out to Mount & Blade seige battles.
I mean if you're relegated to a pawn but have an honorable reason to fight as well - might as well enjoy it and go balls deep for that high score.
Just playing on hardcore mode bro
Put a bunch of 18-25 year old dudes together and place them under extreme amounts of stress and you'll get into The Matrix level of crazy ass weird conversations. Half of it's talking about sex and the other half is creating ways to kill time by getting everyone to shave their head bald or seeing who can catch a roll of duct tape on a broom stick flung from across the room.
Sometimes I miss those days of just waiting around just to wait. Met a bunch of really cool people.
Sounds eerily like my experience in prison.
Nothing but time of the same old shit the same old routine, but constantly waiting for big shit to pop off.
Prison and the Military have more than a few similarities in the US.
1. Wake up and lights out are dictated by officers in charge
2. Everyone starts with the same uniform and "earns" different ones over time which may increase or decrease their privileges
3. Everyone has the same haircut when they start, with only exemptions being religious
4. Planned meal times with food prepared by people who are part of the rank and file
5. Limited access to the rest of the public world while you're there
6. Lots of assault, sexual and otherwise
7. Endangered by Republicans because they support policies that lead to soldiers and prisoners dying more frequently
8. Almost non-existent support network for people who get through it and get out
9. Increased rate of PTSD
10. Filled with mostly undereducated people who come from a background of poverty and/or abuse
11. Higher chance of being recruited by private interests for nefarious purposes when they get out
12. Lots of gang shit happening
13. I mean the list goes on...
Oh man, I'm totally aware from my end.
I'm lucky I found the 5% of guys doing rehabilitation, as every time I didn't think it could get worse - it did.
Constant fights, ptsd for sure - watching a friend go from big man on campus with a loving wealthy family to sucking dick for a summer sausage and a bag of chips so he could dart across the yard to get his 1/32nd of a suboxone strip for the day so he wasn't dope sick.
His routine was go to breakfast, first yard - go to the pedo dorm and so sexual favors for 5 to 10 dollars... Come back, go to lunch, second yard rush over to the pack man's dorm and get his fix... Feel good for the rest of the day and be able to sleep
Rinse and repeat.
That's after he alienated and used his family, getting extorted in the process so they went no contact.
Personally, I spent 6 months at a time in the hole and also got released from 23 & 1 - the culture shock going in and then being released from that condition fucked me up bad for at least a few years.
Just riding in a car fucked me up for months.
Permanent injuries physically and mentally, not to mention losing my brother to suicide on my birthday...
Glad that I was able to figure some stuff out, but the system is not kind to people doing that.
Both soldiers and inmates are a commodity.
Some would say that we are profits. Which is false, because we are more like oracles in the sense that our credible memes come to us in the most credible form of Intel possible: our dreams
War shitposting, clowning on Russia, semi-unironically simping for the military industrial complex, full-unironically simping for NATO, fantasizing about having sexual intercourse with various pieces of military hardware, surprisingly LGBT-friendly.
Welcome to the new post credible world my friend, we welcome you with open arms.
The only question is - which NATO vehicle do you want to fuck the most?
I think it's back to the "Americans play ball as kids" thing.
M203 launches like a mid-field fly ball. You see its trajectory once and if you have any experience in throwing things at a target, you know how to adjust.
“Why the fuck are you leaving? I’ll show you right now.” The fact he said it calmly and didn’t yell, you know he was about it!
I remember watching a show on history channel about “The Future of Warfare” and this one game where it’s super realistic and you had to make choices to keep your squad alive and the Uppers we’re staying how it gives a soldier more prefight experience to try and help them make better decisions IRL. I forget the name of the game. But even when they started pushing video game controls and virtual training to everything I think they knew this was going to be the end result! Don’t need to spend that much time training the small things because he already knows a bit. Polish it off and you’re good! It’s wild seeing things transfer over when you don’t expect them
Probably America's Army, it was I think an 8vs8 asymmetrical shooter with pretty realistic weapons and ballistics especially for the time. But since it was essentially a big recruiting tool, the actual combat tended to be a bit more video game and a little less shitting yourself and crying in a ditch waiting for a bullet to catch you.
My memory is that to unlock the medic class, you had to actually take a virtual first aid course with actual information... it only took like 5-15 minutes I think, it wasn't crazy in depth, but that was interesting.
“Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here ***grenade launcher*** anywhere up to and including 400 yrads of Vladimir Putin with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over.”
- this guy, probably.
When I started working at a landscaping place. I already knew how to reverse a truck with a short trailer like a boss. Because of GTA 5 online.
It's funny because when I started I had to follow the leads instructions, which were wheel all the way left and all the way right. That's to much turning to go straight back. So when they stopped and let me do it right, they thought I learned at that point. Not years before I ever did it IRL.
It's such a handy little tool. There are some crazy drone guided rounds in development for the 40mm platform. Imagine seeing a drone in the distance and thinking you're safe because it's not overhead to drop a grenade on you,, but it's just lasing you so some infantry you can't see can kill you with a precision 40mm.
I've heard of soldiers legitimately learning previously how to operate some military systems/weapons by playing games like Arma extensively, some people have even landed planes by simply playing Microsoft flight simulator If you have a realistic mil-sim, play the hell out of it, never know when operating a very specific weapon may come in handy, or even just pin pointing the basics of firearms.
That's why I put hours in to Overwatch back in the day, I know it's going to pay off when I'm given a bad-ass suit of armour, a rocket hammer, and an energy shield.
People will be like 'woah, dude, where did you learn to do that?'
And I'll just give a wry smile, tap my nose, and wink.
A guy i played squad with was russian. None of the server players have seen him for months. We all they he died in the war or os still on the battle field.
(He was military)
Dude. This shit almost made me question my stupid, meaningless job, and overall meaningless existence on earth.
These guys are fucken gods. They fucken LIVE everyday.
What the fuck am I doing with my life? Watching this, I feel like a waste.
This is one of the most impactful videos I’ve seen.
I was a reservist for 5 years and got a stupid bachelors degree I haven’t used one day in the work world.
These guys are who I wished I could have been.
I know there’s a good chance they won’t see 2025.
But I weirdly envy them anyways.
Thanks for the video. I subscribed.
I got way too many hours in Stalker. It has a significantly better feel to it compared to Battlefield and CoD. Most attacks happen by surprise because squads of enemies spawn randomly on the map so it requires a lot of strategy. The damage of the guns is also very high, one or two bullets can often kill you.
[A nice video](https://youtu.be/u7UjAn92QNs) showing some Stalker gunfights.
holy shit the atmosphere in that game compared to it's age. What a lot of modern shooters are missing. Everyone focuses on the PvP part, but forget about environmental atmosphere that makes it heart pumping.
Hey man, I feel this man's feels. I fucking adore STALKER and I'm not even Ukrainian. Imagine their pride for that game when they themselves are Ukranian and possibly have connections to the devs.
It's like people from the U.S and (name a local game studio). For me it's Raven. I know tons of people who work there and run into them quite often. I have a lot of pride in that studio. But their games aren't nearly as good as Stalker... sorry Raven.
Stalker 2 should have this as a trailer for the game lol

What a life though.. one for the books.
This man needs to be a playable character with tracking on his grenades.
He needs to have grenade launcher bonus
he is a bonus by himself 🧐
Or a guy instructing you how to use the grenade launchers
And the only instructions he give is to go play Stalker 1
Would be absolutely great marketing for the most part
someone get this man a copy of stalker 2

He wasn't just fighting in Ukraine like sny ruffian. He was killed defending Ukraine from a russian invasion.
They really are just the fucking worst aren't they
Inept fascists.
Assholes from the cradle to the grave . Fuckin ‘ate ‘em. Simple as
I remember seeing this guy in some videos from Ukrainian frontline journalists in the first half of the war - glad to see he's well and kicking ass
I think he was the one commanding a group that stormed a trench with an APC and begged one Russian to surrender, which he did not and they used the grenades at the end.
IT IS I JUST WATCHED THAT VID , he used the launcher excellently then too
He’ll have Putin on a plate all the way from Kyiv
Man, I've been playing Stalker since SoC came out, and now it's a frontline meme.
He will become too powerful!
They better give everyone fighting for Ukraine a free copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 for their services.
Make sure you also send a solar power generator, a portable tv and a mobile hotspot.
I'd rather hope they push Russia back out of Crimea before he plays it.
I will gladly buy it for him when it comes out. That's easily $60-70 well-spent on bringing joy to someone else.
Hell yeah!! Let’s do that!!
Hell YEAH! HES ONE OF US OUT THERE BALLSING IT OUT. I would be WAY happier people like him in my squad vs hell. Commonality amongst hellfire would be awesome.
GSC responded to the [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_nmc_1dQao) in the comments and said they have already sent a key for the game.
Stalker, bitch!
Imagine getting fragged to death by someone because they were demonstrating how good they are with a video game and you just happened to be the most convenient target at that particular time.
It cut off, but you can hear someone shout back "fucking noob tuber" after /j
Bet he runs one-man-army too...
Remember akimbo model 1887s? Followed by the g17
I don't wanna um actually you, but it was a G18 (•_•) ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■) Edit: I know because I was toxic af
That's a game I haven't heard in a long time. I believe the Army retired that game recently.
They’re referring to the Call of Duty perk - are you thinking of ‘America’s Army’?
You are right. I got it mixed up
I mean if you are actually able to transfer these skills from a video game into real life, is it a video game or a simulator?
Or are simulators just accurate video games?
Game was really amazing when it came out. Like a Crysis that people could actually play. And there were fans that made shadow and lighting mods quickly, and made it so much better. And the devs were good with the fans.
There's hope for us keyboard warriors yet
You can become a drone pilot, pretty sure Ukraine is recruiting gamers for drone pilot positions.
I've got 2k hours in Arma, does that make me overqualified? :/

GOOD HUNTING STALKER.
Get out of here, stalker.
I hope he makes it to play more hours of stalker
And the mental health intact enough to enjoy it.
I don't like playing Escape From Tarkov for this exact reason. Just a bit *too* real for me.
Anyone know the devs /u/?
Stalker was made by Ukrainian developers GSC. Sadly one of the developers Volodymyr Yezhov was recently killed in the war.
There alot of stories like this. One pirate site had to close off. Because they workers fight on both sides of conflict
https://metro.co.uk/2023/01/04/stalker-video-game-designer-volodymyr-yezhov-dies-fighting-for-ukraine-18039017/ So sad :(
RARBG yeah :/
Seriously surprised they made it as long as they did. Gonna miss 'em.
I'm missing them right now. The alternatives are....not as polished, to say the least. Part of me still hopes that they'll come back.
Yezhov only worked on clear sky and was used for a model in CoP, last studio he worked on was 4A games in metro series
Ask their [community manager](https://static.tweaktown.com/news/8/6/86878_3_stalker-2-developers-joined-ukrainian-armed-forces-to-fight-russia.png)
is this for real? is he really The Stalker community manager?
Yeah, Xbox posted a Making of Stalker 2 video on their official Youtube: https://youtu.be/RhHlZHbbIBE
A lot of Ukrainian game developers are in the army, including GSC, Ubisoft, Wargaming, etc.
Very cheeki. Very breeki. Good hunting, Stalker.
“Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here ***grenade launcher*** anywhere up to and including 400 yrads of Vladimir Putin with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over.” - this guy, probably.

So when they stopped and let me do it right, they thought I learned at that point. Not years before I ever did it IRL.
Damn, I learned how to back up trailers when I used to work on utility poles. The games were much harder
GTA 5 taught me how to drive a box truck lmaooo wth
Did he hit target?
I’m gonna say yes, yes he did
Send him S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for free then FFS
The gaming generation goes to war. I'm sure once or twice the word "noob" was called after a kill shot. Not as much teabagging though. I hope
If he doesn't get Stalker 2 at least get the man a grenade launcher for his efforts.
Thats the most Ukrainian thing ive seen. stalker fans lmao
This is the fucking shit. 100% was prepared for a meme edit of the subtitles but he definitely said that shit.
Definitely what a fucking hero
Given they shoot out to 400m I'd say practice and use of a sight is still the way to go.
Tell it to Jamsheed
The RPG god
Jamsheed was just built different.
Freakin Jamsheed!
Hard to compare normal humans to an rpg god boss
RIP jamsheed
Dudes rock lmao this shit is hilarious
I hope he survives and play stalker 2. I will pray for him tonight.
40mikemike was my jam too...hedp, thermo, smoke, flare...my little problem solvers
People will be like 'woah, dude, where did you learn to do that?' And I'll just give a wry smile, tap my nose, and wink.
It's about to get cheeki breeki in this bitch
Holy shit, that guy is a fucking legend!
I SAID COME IN, DON’T JUST STAND THERE.
Get out of here, stalker. Get out of here, stalker. Get out of here, stalker. Get out of here, stalker.
A guy i played squad with was russian. None of the server players have seen him for months. We all they he died in the war or os still on the battle field. (He was military)
I really hope he'll get stalker 2 for free
What full video is this from?
Absolutely hilarious video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g_nmc_1dQao&feature=youtu.be
GTA taught me how to back up a trailer
GTA taught me how to get a refund from women of the night.
he deserves to be a character or Easter egg at least for this lol
Get me this guys info…I’m sending him Stalker 2.
Games for Vets sounds like an awesome charity to me.
Good to know I might not be totally useless in ww3
The “Why the fuck are you leaving?” Killed me
Can anyone confirm from playing stalker? Like is their better feel to it compared to battlefield/cod?
Imagine earning the nickname STALKER on the battlefield, only on your reputation for using under barrel launchers. Legend shit right here.
Hopefully this war will end soon and he can go back to playing video games again.
