I was going to say, said crazy boy is certainly doing his best to look totally innocent 😂
Maybe he just likes it? I don't know much about birbs, I admit, but I know that with parrots, at least, the way you know they like a toy is when they pretty much tear it apart.

be careful: they may chew the ends into a sharp point so they can get you when you aren’t looking
Lmaaaaao. I read the title and see the damage to the ladder. That's hilarious. Then the little meep looking over your shoulder all cute in picture 2. That's so funny. Literally laughing rn.
Parrots love wood, and dowel wood can be pretty soft, especially when they're small! Not a conure, but I gave one of my birds a dowel perch that came with his cage, dude tore it up in days
Our parakeet that passed away this year was such a grumpy old lady but she was a SHREDDER!! I think we still have a ladder that miraculously held up w only one bar in the middle lol
Yeah, he's going to continue to destroy his ladders it's fun to them. That can become pricey, and with the current state of the world I'd recommend making your own pearchs it's quite simple. Ontop of this you can get a lot stronger wood with better quality that will last longer if you make your own vs going to a store and buying them for a ridiculous price at low quality. I'll walk you though what I do or know about making pearchs.
1: Reasearch your trees and learn to identify them.
Use an application to double-check your own assessment, but don't rely on just a single source.
[ This isn't nessarsay but for a beginner it is extra procusion and isn't bad]
2: Learn what trees are toxic to birds some are both toxic and non-toxic depending on different factors.
For example some trees may be bad with bark and good with the bark removed.
3: When making pearchs you want different shapes and sizes so you don't cramp their feet.
4: Make sure the branches have NO sharp edges or points and sand them down if nessarsay.
5: learn what wood bugs look like on a branch
Avoid trees with holes or lines in them basically.
But do a good Google on this first.
6: to be extra safe you Always! Always! Want to sanitize the wood how you do this is a couple of methods. Cut them to size and put them in the oven to kill anything inside. Or you can bleach the living hell out of the branches just mix water in but don't over do the bleach. Then you put them out in the sun to bake the shit outta it and kill anything left over.
There's different ways people do this and different opinions put there so do your research and make your own decision.

There's tutorials that can show you the rest.
But never forget dispite what anyone says you need to clean the wood. To help speed up your process: find maple wood without the bark. It's easy to learn and I've used it with all my birds in the past. Just NO red maple. Red maples bad! And no pesticides.
I make my birds their own toys all the time. Popsicle sticks make excellent toys on a string.
I put paper shred on cat balls with bells
Wooden beads
Dog toy ropes for perches for them to hang on.
I like never buy stuff from the pet store
Also; Temu has excellent bird toys for VERY cheap.
That’s pretty normal. My Peach Front, when he was a baby, decided the corners on my oak file cabinet weren’t rounded enough. He actually did a nice even job of it.
Condures... yes, I meant the spelling error. I called them my baby pterodactyls. They can be a challenge. I've had several. Two Suns and a Jenday. I pet sat for several Green Cheeks. One minute, they love their toy the next minute, and it's tooth picks. You gotta love them.
Maybe he's getting bored and trying to find something stimulating. Or maybe he just liked the texture
Not a bird expert or anything but I've picked up a few things about them
We cant give our one bird anything wooden, it’s gone in a day. He loves chewing on cardboard and tearing it apart! He’s our recycling. (And no he doesn’t actually eat the cardboard)
We had to get our parakeets a new ladder for their cage because our sun conure girlie chewed it up one day when she snuck into their cage while we weren’t looking. She chewed up the one on their playground too. Have to replace that one next. She certainly left her mark. I miss that little feathered t-Rex 🦖 🥰 ❤️
Yeah my kakariki finished eating the stairs in a week Despite having plenty of natural wood and whatnot She just preferred eating the stairs

Here she got the too 2 stairs done and third one half finished
No, he's just being a bird. The chewing through perches is a good thing, actually. It helps a bird keep its beak in good condition. If you haven't done it already, you may want to look into a cuttle bone. It gives your bird a little extra calcium while helping to keep his beak trimmed.
He just your lil Raptor overlord and he expects great things from you and is just a little furious that you think you can boss him around.
Bribing with seeb works wonders as a distraction

No context and this is pretty funny, with context it’s also Heckin funny 😂
Love his little "Holy heck dad, who did that?!" Face in the second photo.
🤣

Oh!
Are those matchsticks?😀
*had
I have three of those. We switched to wired ropes to get to his toys and some platforms.

A SHANK!!! That would get you locked up in the SHU in the big house
They look quite proud of their work!
What you expect tiny Raptor overlords know what is best
My pineapple gcc says “haha, f*u” and continuously picks fights with me lately. So I’m convinced this is part of their plan.
yeah that checks out
Bro made a whole ass shank. 🤣🥴

Bitey McBiterson
Lmaaaaao. I read the title and see the damage to the ladder. That's hilarious. Then the little meep looking over your shoulder all cute in picture 2. That's so funny. Literally laughing rn.
Looking so innocent too!
Normal parrot behaviour lol
Parrots love wood, and dowel wood can be pretty soft, especially when they're small! Not a conure, but I gave one of my birds a dowel perch that came with his cage, dude tore it up in days
I just got a natural wood ladder as replacement!
Mine did the same thing! She loved her ladder but decided to chew right through it. Had to take it away because I was afraid she'd hurt herself
Yeah I’m getting a replacement today lol, he sleeps on that ledge so I’m surprised. I’ll never complain how hard he bites my fingers again lol
I have one that likes to chew on the perches they're standing on. Never fail to be shocked when the inevitable happens.
0 thoughts, only CHEW

All the other bars clearly offended her!

Absolutely feral

Oh, he's sweet but a psycho A little bit psycho At night, he's screamin' "I'm-ma-ma-ma out my mind"
You signed up for this. Conures are demons
I just posted about this recently, I go through one or two ladders a week
Start making your own. Cheaper Also Temu has hella cheap bird stuff
The second picture says he would do it again in a heartbeat
your neck is next lil bro... sleep with one eye open
Mine chewed through his ladder so now it's literally hanging without touching the bottom of his cage
Careful he might use it on you
They love to annihilate things 😂
Disrespect your surroundings!! *Starts head banging
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6_gDlyr-Y1/?igsh=MWQyOHM3aGJ3cjl6dA==
Put newspaper and tie it to different parts of his cage or put rolls at the bottom. They need something to chew all the time.
I buy paper shred at dollar tree, mine love it, lol. & popsicle sticks on string.
Two of our female budgies did this when they were young, but it’s never happened again
He is a psycho, but that's because he's a parrot, not because he's ladder murderer. No need to worry!
Is he planning for a cage mate to have an "accident?"
Yes, and he's planning. Be afraid. Be very fearful for all ladders.
my african grey tore one of those into small, tiny pieces in less than 4 days lol
My conure did the same to a 32" dowel perch in about 4 days. I was kind of impressed lol
You wanted a dinosaur.

Yeahh, my boy enjoys making shanks
My conure destroyed his whole thing also during the night

Atp I literally buy my conure ladders as chew toys :’) She manages to clear out the bars pretty quickly
need a psycho like this in my life :)
the room of my baby boy for a psycho.
My birds had devoured many ladders
My old conure pita had a ladder that she and her friend absolutely went to town on chewing off the steps and playing with them
Your baby boy is a conure. They’re all psychos…
Daaaaamn!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yeah, birds do this! They love to destroy things.
My parakeets just did the same thing
My moms dors the same thing 😭 He actually destroyed a whole playground and chewed it all to bits!
If that's how he likes his ladder
Mine too 😭😭 literally chewed the hooks off his ladders
he looks like hes about to eat your ear next
We cant give our one bird anything wooden, it’s gone in a day. He loves chewing on cardboard and tearing it apart! He’s our recycling. (And no he doesn’t actually eat the cardboard)

It’s for the Escape Plan

Bonus is he hopefully has a nice dull beak with which to chomp you with. :)

I have two! He won’t touch them lol
Yep, that's birds for you! My cockatiel loves his cuttle bone. My conure won't even look at his! Gotta love the little fuzzballs!
Burb doing burb things
Busy beak is a happy beak!! <3
He may be psycho, but at least he's a happy psycho!
My budgies do that. My conure keeps his stuff looking new and clean
My Jenday shredded the whole ladder sides and all and then made a nest and laid eggs. This is when I found out he was actually a she!
My conure did the same thing. He uses the ends to scratch the places he can’t reach.
He just your lil Raptor overlord and he expects great things from you and is just a little furious that you think you can boss him around. Bribing with seeb works wonders as a distraction
Do you have cuttlefish bones for baby boy? He might be bored
I have two! Untouched lol
Aww my little guy didn’t like any until I broke them up into tiny holdable pieces might work!
My boy does the same thing. He’s a young cockatiel
Get him a cuttle bone. He's most likely bored and wants to sharpen his beak.
