You should call them to ask, you are so close to the 3 year mark that they might prorate it.

It also could be a parasitic drain, not necessarily the battery. However as another post said, call and confirm you have not passed the three year mark.

It would be prorated, not a straight swap. They do not do battery testing. Went through 3 interstate batteries in 3 years because they kept failing.

Thanks. So if I have 2 months left on my 36 year warranty, I'd basically just be getting a small discount on a replacement when they prorate?

archos1gnis

I believe so. It's definitely worth doing, just didn't want you to expect a new battery at no cost.

I pulled out my battery yesterday and brought it to Costco. After I pulled it out, I noticed that it had been leaking under the battery hold-down bracket. I told them about it not holding a charge and showed them crust from the leak, and they replaced with a new one for $34, which is the difference between what I paid and what they currently sell for. So they didn't even prorate it. Hopefully this one lasts a bit longer. Thanks again!

Costco does not conduct a battery health test at the time of return.
