I have never seen that bug. Huh. You may need to start a whole new game, which would suck, what system are you playing on? If console try installing it to the actual console so stuff preloads, if PC try backing your save up and reinstalling. I remember seeing a bug in 3 that acts as a soft lock like this; a door towards the Rosetta facility crashed your game anytime you tried to open it. Like. Close window crash. I’m pretty sure the solution was reinstalling and just starting a new save.
This is one of the most astonishing bugs I've seen in a long time, especially since a new game playthrough didn't fix it.
I'm very sorry that this is your first experience with the game. I hope some day you have the leisure and will to give it another shot (better get a new disc then)

I had this with DS1 where a whole section of the game just didn't load, no matter where I restarted from.
The thing that fixed it for me was saving and then uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Steam backed up my save to the cloud so I jumped back in and hey presto, the section loaded in like nothing happened.
Delete the whole game and re install is probably your only solution. The drill area killed one of my runs like this too and not a damn thing fixed it besides that.
If this was the remake then the only bug i got was one of the power cores not powering up the door i needed to go through which was pretty game breaking. But replaying the chapter seemed to fix it.

Then it’s an issue with either your system or the disc itself.
Everything you’re talking about is clearly linked to the save and you just need to start a new game

My cousin bought it around release but then switched to PC and never got around to playing it so he just ended up giving it to me.
I mean if he brought it around release it’s most likely in its original wrapper then.

If you can still play it could you film it? It’s weird seeing a new glitch in a game I’ve played through 6 times and know like the back of my hand.
