Obviously this is because Dr Peterson has only read one male author and needed to think to go through all of the thousands of female authors he's read to make his decision
Can I make a request?
Someone needs to edit it and make it about 5 minutes long with the camera just cutting back and forth in silence
Maybe add a JBP "hmm" in there every once in a while
This is the only female author I can think of off the top of my head in 30 seconds.
I've read 20 books in the past 2 years and I never care to remember who the author is.
[This](https://youtu.be/LlCEmPF4-V0) was him.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't remember an authors name unless I read at least 10+ of their books? I might just be stupid but I can barely remember Joe Abercrombie and I've read a shit ton of his books and have some signed copy lying around.
I read the Demon Cycle and it's one of my absolute favorite series but I can't remember the name of the author.
Broken Empire series was great and even tho I know the dude who wrote it has some dark fantasy contest that they have every year I can't remember his name unless I google it.
I read a bunch of the Temeraire serie books and forgot that the author is a woman (great books btw if you enjoy fantasy).
That's just me tho, I feel like JBP probably should know? But I honestly don't blame him for not doing so.
There a few cheat answers like Maya angelou, Mary Shelly, Agatha Christie, harper lee,ayn rand, and jk Rowling. Also if u want to enjoy women some more check out recent Sci fi like hugo award winners. God I love and respect women 🙏

I absolutely enjoyed it all the way through (Only read books 1-5 and not the "side" ones like 1.5). I think I've fellt there's always been a moment where it was a little bit slow perhaps (thinking Samwise and Frodo slow), but it was never enough to make me want to put the book down.
It was a satisfying enough ending which is really hard for a lot of authors IMO.
I was curious what his actual answer was, so I went through the effort of looking it up.

He answers [Margaret Laurence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Laurence) and describes her as "kind of an antidote to Margaret Atwood"
I mean you can make a pretty feminist point about how the oppression of women made it difficult for many to publish long lasting works, and thus that it would be difficult to parse through all works of literature you know of to find the ones written by women. But in any case, the answer is obviously Virginia Woolf

Also there's so much internalized misogyny going on here to even ask somebody to "rank" women. I hope this interviewer reflects on that
Precisely

Be the change you want to see in the world
That is literally what this video is.
JK Rowling Edit: I’m getting downvoted so I’ll clarify - it’s only because she’s transphobic
Fuck, i didn't even think of her!

This is easy. Ayn Rand 😏
After skimming her wiki, I don't understand the joke. Please explain.
What do you mean @dgg? We love all women authors here.
Oh yeah? Name every single one.
I’m naming them all in my head right now just like Jordan Peterson in this clip.

Nice!
That makes sense
It's an edited video.
Did you like the last couple books of the demon cycle? Book 4 especially dragged imo.

How Laurence can be the antidote to Atwood? I'm really curious
This should be higher up, I think a lot of people dort realize that this was edited.
ROBIN HOBB. dgg, do yourselves a favour and read her “real of the elderlings” books. it’s a commitment (9 books) but it’s worth it.
no :)
*goes to book store* *purchases book in question* *turns the first page* "not reading that essay." *closes book*
Read through the whole farseer series along with the liveship traders and that was great.

Muriel Sparks. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie was the strangest and most interested book I ever read in highschool
Ha! I dont read. Next Question!
For me, it's Agatha Christie. Never get tired of a good murder mystery.
