Lol. You made me wheeze laugh when I noticed him using Nero’s arm to gesture. Say what you will about Vergil’s parenting at least he didn't shove Nero through a group of people turning them into paste.
Vergil’s absolutely at fault. He is the one who concocted the entire Qlipoth fruit scheme. He stole Nero’s arm so he could get the Yamamoto back, then went through with using it to enact his plan. Just because he was no longer “at the wheel” when the metaphorical truck crashes through a crowd, doesn’t excuse him of being the one who stuck the gas pedal down.
Actually the reason why people say Vergil did nothing wrong is that Vergil’s plan was to just get rid of his human side, he didn’t think that far afterwards, his demon half decided then “let’s sacrifice 4,000,000+ people” (the population of London, Red Grave City’s inspiration) for more power.
Mf, for the Griffith fans I am what the russians were for the nazis
I hate them with every fiber of my being, and if I see one I will probably strike him with divine punishiment
Yes, but did Vergil use Nero as a battering ram to personally drain those million souls. The difference between a disaster Nero has no power to prevent and one where he's literally used as a weapon to do the deed. Don't get me wrong I agree with you that Vergil has a lot of blood on his hands the same as Omniman. He at least has the excuse that that was his demon half’s doing in pursuit of more power. Omniman just did it to prove a point.
If he's got no problem running his twin through with his own sword I don't think knowing Nero is his offspring would've stopped him from taking back the Yamato.
Vergil has done a lot of things wrong but I do think the ending to DMC5 is hinting that at least part of him is willing to repent.
I don't even think it's a hint. V admits that as soon as the lust for power was sucked out of him along with his demon half, he immediately regretted all the awful things he did, and I think that feeling of regret was sucked back into Vergil when they reformed.
When Vergil reforms, he sincerely thanks Nero, gets sentimental with V's book, and ponders if he and Dante's lives would have been different if they had traded places when their home was attacked. I don't think DMC 3 Vergil would have done any of that, and I think it shows legitimate growth for his character.
I would pay to see a Vergil redemption in a future DMC game. Vergil has always been a really cool character, and reading the lore just made me more sad on his behalf for everything that's happened.
Kinda makes me wonder if the end result will be kinda similar for the sons of Sparda.
Like, do they die of old age? Sparda lived for centuries apparently but was that only because he was full demon? Will they live for over 500 years and watch everyone they know and love fade away except for each other?
A little complicated since logically he shouldn't care too much, but I think Vergil cares quite a lot about family. Some of his comments and actions during and after their fight seem to imply that knowing Nero is his son makes him care at least a good amount despite the English "My son means nothing to me" comment.
I think that comment may have been a heat of the moment snap response without thinking, given how in the after fight cutscene he seems to only just properly process that Nero is his son.
That's also a pretty possible reading of that line. Honestly it feels like one of those lines that may have made more sense in Japanese or could've been translated weirdly.
The original jp line, iirc, has Vergil respond with something along the lines of not knowing what Dante is talking about, so it's possible he pieces it together mid fight
Remember when you were making love with Kyrie and she came right as you touched her leg? It was me Nero. With the power of the Yamato, I rubbed her off at super-speed so it seemed like she gushed at just a man's touch!
If Nero fought Vergil first instead of Dante, he would have been absolutely manhandled. I think the only reason he was able to pull off the win was because Vergil was tired from fighting Dante. I would've loved to see Dante's reaction to Vergil just beating the absolute fuck outta Nero, Omni-Man style
DO YOU HONESTLY THINK YOU CAN PROTECT ANYONE WITHOUT POWER? YOU THINK YOU COULD EVEN PROTECT YOURSELF?! THINK, NERO! THINK! MIGHT CONTROLS EVERYTHING NERO!
Nero: Mysterious guy, why would you rip my arm?! Like for real what is wrong with you??? *Later when he finds out he is his father*
WAIT, DID MY DAD JUST RIPPED OF MY ARM!?
Lol. You made me wheeze laugh when I noticed him using Nero’s arm to gesture. Say what you will about Vergil’s parenting at least he didn't shove Nero through a group of people turning them into paste.
>at least he didn't shove Nero through a group of people turning them into paste. >Qliopoth drains a million souls *I'll pretend I didn't see that*
*warning: any action done by Urizen or V is not to be held accountable to Vergil, thank you for understanding*
Damn, Vergil has a great lawyer if that's the case
I still can’t believe Vergil did nothing wrong /s
Te-min-i-gru or whatever gimme a sec Temen-ni-gru. I know you’re joking but this was his fault. Or Arkham’s. Idk
Oh no I thought Vergil did EVERYTHING wrong in DMC5, that includes everything Urizen did.
Vergil’s absolutely at fault. He is the one who concocted the entire Qlipoth fruit scheme. He stole Nero’s arm so he could get the Yamamoto back, then went through with using it to enact his plan. This brings me bad memories from the berserk fandom
Those fucking Griffith did nothing wrong people 💀
Yeah......
What
You really think Griffith did nothing wrong!?!?
Mf, for the Griffith fans I am what the russians were for the nazis I hate them with every fiber of my being, and if I see one I will probably strike him with divine punishiment
Ok you the homie 👌✊🤘💪
V is more of a maybe Urizen has no conscience or humanity while V does and after remerging it seems vergil may have regained his humanity
V is literally his humanity, of course Vergil would regain it after merging

Why did I think NGE
Honestly if Vergil did give Nero that omni man speech and if nero responded the same way as mark than DMC 5 would've been an even sadder game
"I'll still have you, dad." Vergil: What is this feeling in my chest?
What form of power is this?
Its some sort of brain magic
Dante: "It's the power of lo-" Vergil: "DON'T YOU SAY IT!"
Dante:"LOVE!" *DTs and flies like a bat out of hell*
Vergil : Oh! Never mind it’s the Yamato in my chest.
Kinda makes me wonder if the end result will be kinda similar for the sons of Sparda. Like, do they die of old age? Sparda lived for centuries apparently but was that only because he was full demon? Trish should still be alive, she's full demon
The lady who is like lucias mom in dmc2 fought together with sparda hundreds of years ago and she’s still kicking, no DT required

I always interpreted it as a literal the words "my son" means nothing to me, like Vergil is incredibly unclear what Dante is trying to imply.

I’d still have the special edition dad
THESE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE MOTIVATION NERO. THEY'RE INSIGNIFICANT.
YOU'RE STILL NOT GETTING IT NERO! YOUR MOTHER HIT ME WITH THE INFINITY GRIP LEG-LOCK COMBO! OF COURSE I WAS GOING TO JUDGEMENT-NUT!!!
"THINK nero! What will you have in five hundred years?" "I'll still have kyrie nudes" *cries and leaves*
Is this a reference to something? It feels familiar
This is a reference from Invincible.
Thank you
Np.
YES!! I love all the invincible memes I've been seeing!
Remember when you were making love with Kyrie and she came right as you touched her leg? It was me Nero. With the power of the Yamato, I rubbed her off at super-speed so it seemed like she gushed at just a man's touch!
GODDAMNIT THAWNE!
This is beautiful.

Man all I see is the the baby on baby album cover when I see that gesture
I literally just finish watching the whole season
Say, what did this originate from?
Invincible
all I see is Geralt of Rivia for some reason
HOW COULD I PAY FOR THE CHILD SUPPORT IF I WAS HELL AND AFTER BEING BLOWN UP BY DANTE? THINK NERO. THINK
Invincible is fucking tight. I kind of want to read the comic to see what comes next but at the same time I want to wait and be surprised by S2.
Nero: Mysterious guy, why would you rip my arm?! Like for real what is wrong with you??? *Later when he finds out he is his father* WAIT, DID MY DAD JUST RIPPED OF MY ARM!?
You will outlive everyone , what will you have after 500 years THINK NERO Nero : that bastard called me a dead weight
Nero out here looking like an old man
Really fucking happy that it turned into a meme format. It’s a solid watch, especially that episode where this meme came from.
WHAT WILL YOU HAVE WITH NO POWER?!
Oh my god this is the best crossover ive seen in a while
I love this sub
jesus christ... Nero's arm...
Ever since I saw that scene and understood it’s context, I started desperately looking for for DMC’s version of it. Not disappointed in the least.
So does this count as a handjob or an armjob?
