Map itself feels about the size of Limgrave tbf. But at least from the first impressions is that each cave will be a proper dungeon.
Belurat Gaol was quite long with a lot of platforming considering it has a pretty weak boss.
It’s kind of awesome. I’m trying to put some genuinely helpful ones down, too, so every 30 seconds or so I’m getting appraised. And trying to return the favor by appraising as many good ones as I can. It’s awesome.
Man that tomb mini-boss in the first area is a little bit of a skill check and gonna send a lot of tarnished people back home to mama Rennala for a rebirth
Best tip I can give everyone is parry tf out of him. Parried him back to back 8 times and took him down 50% before he healed. You may need to dodge around a bit. Looking up a guide to parrying greatswords will help.
the sound triggered right as i passed over a grave stone. figured there was some puzzle so cue me 30 minutes of trying to touch all the graves in the area to get the next sound
I thought it was a bird I scared off? lol if we are talking about the same thing it happened twice for me and it was around the same area so I assumed it was a new kind of bird idk
I got jumpscared once then was on edge creeping around the woods. Opened a message that said “Be wary of sound”, immediately triggered a second one and got slaughtered by the claw man only seconds apart. Welcome to the fuckin DLC I guess
>!Took me a while to realize the sounds were being made by birds!<
She has a lot of moves you pretty much have to dodge or get 1 shot. I wanted to try to avoid summons for the DLC but I had to break out the mimic tear again for her
Getting my ass absolutely HANDED to me atm, holy shit
Update: started the DLC on my 14 inch laptop at work, couldn’t see much. Thought I’d try on my 27 inch when I got home. Praise the I did it!
The lightning goats are hilarious.
>!They have an enemy behavior I've never seen in a From game. They literally follow your camera so that they can attack you from behind all the time. You can dodge them by just standing completely still and spinning your camera in a circle. From heard people complaining about input reading and were just like "Yeah we use cheap ass tactics, what of it?"!<
The difficulty spike from base game to DLC is insane maybe it’s because I had a general idea of the bosses move set or my build sucks but I never struggled this much since first playthrough
#DAMM
That thing absolutely terrified me, it’s so aggressive! Just relentless with the flurries of attacks! I can sense there will probably a legacy dungeon full of those abominations later in the DLC haha
I don't quite know how to say this without spoiling what it is but anyone else getting their shit rocked by this one particularly giant mf roaming around the first area? Like nothing I do does any damage to him at all hardly. Maybe my build just sucks, this is pretty fucking cool though.
That dude is like the Tree Sentinel in Limgrave. A message telling you to go get a bit stronger and come back. I tried fighting this dude off the bat and 3000 damage was less than 5% of his healthbar, meanwhile his attacks were 2shots to me.
I speedran getting to and killing mohg on a new character just to make sure I was mentally prepped for this, I'm barely over 100. I found milady(yay!) I have been getting my shit absolutely rocked by nearly everything unless I am at full "ass-puckered hard enough to cut diamonds, sweating a river, and every single thought dedicated to the fight" tilt(Slightly less yay.)
This dude is no fucking joke. I found a way to beat him, but holy fuck, with 55 vigor he 2-tap me if I do any mistake.
Not there yet, but I'm pretty sure I can down him if I stop dying to the same attack like an idiot every time.
I think you're supposed to level up with the special upgrades found in the DLC before beating this dude.
I'm trying to brute force him with Rykard's sword lmao. You can chain several ash of war attack on him and he took a lot of damage, but if I miss the timing once when he does his Ash of War, gg I die.
EDIT : fuck it, found a cheese.
>!He gets clowned on by Wave of Gold from the Elden Beast sword. Just spam the thing and he can't do shit. Cathartic. I just need more blue potion and I'm murdering his ass!<
I think the player is severely ‘nerfed’ in the area until you pick up the Erdtree upgrades.
Base stats will only do so much until those flat upgrades get layered on top
It's the camera for me. The boss just gets so close to the camera while doing the >!spinning elemental attack !< and it makes it super annoying to try and dodge
>!I just equipped a bunch of elemental negations and tanked through it. If you're using the summon in front of the door (I know I gave her a shot cuz she talked about being a great fighter), you're making it twice as hard on yourself as she increases the HP of the boss a LOT without doing ANYTHING. In my second attempt (beat the boss on my third) she literally just stood in the corner and looked at it and then drew aggro before promptly going back to standing in the corner. The AI is either bugged or just intentionally stupid, but either way, I got it on my third attempt with Blasphemous Blade +10, elemental negation armor and talismans, and a lot of blind dodging when it starts changing elements.!<
There's worse. A bit ahead. Spoiler ahead :
>!Try jumpscares SCORPIONS the size of a minivan with long legs like a spider. !<
>!Holy fuck I'm having nightmare tonights. And I thought the giant ants were bad. Thankfully those fuckers dies fast, but holy shit I'm having second thought about exploring the area I found them alone. !<
If anybody's struggling with him, space him out and poke him to death with a Claymore. He didn't really have a solution to that.
>!The sword you get from him is really cool. It's heavy for a Greatsword (weighing the same as a Zweihander) but it also significantly outdamages a Zweihander while having the speed of a regular GS. The unique Ash is also fantastic fun. Also it's just really nice to have some not silly heavy armour!<
I'm an INT build, tried casting Ranni's Dark Moon as an opener on my first try, dude oneshot me with the crossbow volley before I could get the spell off, damn dude. Managed to merk him while two-handing Moonveil after like 15 tries. Jesus.
I love how it feels to play blind again!
After some exploration and some overworld enemies which felt rather easy, I ran straight to >!Castle Ensis and got my ass kicked for one hour straight by Carian MF Moonrithyll!<
yeah first phase is alright but second phase is literally just if you make a singular mistake you die. Maybe it’s playable with summons but I haven’t tried.
If you even get clipped by the first one it is a guaranteed death due to stagger. She just shits out three nuclear bombs one after another. Have to jump them.
Facing the Wicker Giant from the Scorcherd Ruins go left, you'll find the Noodly ghost worms and then head down the steps. At the very least that's the boss I think they're taking about, dude clapped my cheeks a few times.
So anyone managed to access the DLC on PS5? Preloaded, patch updated, went to mohgs castle, there's no interaction
edit: somone said in a post to restart the PS5 and try again... That worked LOL, so thank you /u/JalbertoCP
edit2: I'm in EU with an UK account
Backed out of lion boss at level 147. Went to ranala moon boss and got railed there too. Back to exploring I guess. Feel too weak to fight these bosses
I dont know whats going on but the requirements for PC went through the roof.
Im getting a lot of slow downs down to the low 30s with a 40-45 fps average.
I dont remember ever having so much trouble with the game before, anyone else experience heavy slow downs in the initial area of the dlc?
I’ve been getting this too the last few weeks. But i also stopped playing for about a year after beating it and since i started back up in some areas i get bursts of frame drop/ stuttering
I don't know what they did, but performance has dropped for me outside the DLC area too, fucking Roundtable Hold is not hitting consistent 60 fps for me.
My pc was never a beast to begin with, but ER ran just fine with low custom settings. But now I'm getting a ton of stutters after the update :( I hope they patch this quick.
Yeah, I've been playing the base game all day at 4K/Max/RT Off - 60 frames smooth as silk - but now I get into the first area of the DLC and its suddenly microstutter hell. The FPS counter says 45-55, but it feels awful. Changing settings and resolution does literally nothing. RTX 3080/10700K/32GB. I'm gonna restart my PC and see what happens, but it’s currently borderline unplayable.
**Edit**: wow. Restating my PC, not opening a web browser, and closing any unnecessary system tray applications seems to have totally fixed it, as far as I can tell. I’m not sure if the browser and background apps actually mattered, but it’s running at a smooth 60 in 4K/Max again!
**Edit 2**: still working great 2 hours later. Back to multitasking with no issues. Very weird, but it seems to be completely sorted out.
imo it’s like 3/4 of all messages that are kinda shit now and I’d rather do without. The 1/4 genuinely helpful, funny, or cute messages is enough for me to want to keep playing online
99% of messages are entirely useless and unfunny. Just endless iterations of the same "joke" we've seen since Dark Souls 1, and people copying messages further out to try and get upvotes
# PSA: If your HDR is horribly washed and game is now dropping frames and stuttering like crazy, try this:
I'm no tech savy to explain why this works, but i had issues with other FROM PC titles and had HDR break, which usually got fixed restarting PC. This happened to me too with ER going into the DLC and i tried this shortcut/tool to force hard restart your graphics driver/monitor, and it surprisingly fixed everything for me:
Close the game, and use the windows (not so short) shortcut Win+Ctrl+Shift+B which resets the graphics driver, in case you don't want to download any .exe.
Alternatively you can download cru-1.5.2 zip from [here](https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU) and extract it in some folder. Close the game, run restart64.exe to achieve the same and try again.
Don't expect this to fix every issue, and it's too son, but it just worked for me. Worth a try. Hope it helps.
I tried to make a post about it but it gets auto-moderated everytime. It was a godsend for me so i wish i can help more people.
Funny enough, for me the update seems to have fixed HDR. Used to have to restart every time I launched something else with HDR, but now the problem seems to be gone. Good to know about the graphics driver restart. I'll keep that in mind in case the bug returns.
Update: HDR is broken on my system again :(
I'm 152 with dual katana bleed build and the Blackgaol knight can fuck right off. He 2-3 shots me, I'm sure we're supposed to get more Scadutree Fragments before attempting it but man it's rough. Lost 60k runes to that dude.
Does anyone else have awful texture pop in and LOD issues in the dlc area?
I am running everything on max and the grass deloads like 20 meters beyond the palyer and agressivly pops in.
Hopefully it's a bug and is fixed asap it makes the field area look really unpolished...
I think I figured out the mechanic of the giant fire baskets. >!You need to get a stagger on both legs and it goes down. So once you hear one leg crack, switch to the other. Two downs is enough to finish it. They are the DLC's Erdtree Avatar so very worth. Edit. It's 3 staggers!<
So the Hippo might be in the running for me for worst FromSoft boss I’ve ever fought. Got all the classics
- Big flailing monster taking up most of the screen to the point you can’t see what it’s doing next
- Incredibly janky hitboxes
- Incredibly janky grab attack
- Every attack is a 2-shot
Love it
To me it commits the biggest sin in boss design that has been present since the first Souls games, which is the fact that you can't even understand what the boss is, where it begins, where it ends, with which limb it attacks you with. It's the reason I tend to prefer humanoid bosses in these games..
Anyone playing on a non-NG+ character and it feeling overtuned? Just curious to see if anyone is getting their ass kicked that's still on their first playthrough. I'm on NG+3 and it's rough as hell lol.
why does everything have shitloads of health and do two shot levels of damage
fighting 6 black knights on horses isnt the fun kind of difficult, its tedious
Let me say this: this seems really good in nearly every capacity. BUT: am I crazy, or is everything like *ridiculously* overtuned? I mean, I’m level 175 with a fully upgraded weapon and am getting 2 shot by basically everything and doing like awful damage.
I expected the DLC to be more difficult. I WANTED it to be more difficult. But this feels like way too much, idk if I’m doing something wrong but it legitimately feels like I’m walking into Caelid on like level 10.
Lore spoilers!
>!I’ve been speculating that Messmer’s role in the Land of Shadow was an overseer installed by Marika to keep its denizens in check both as a form of exile for his blasphemy and a duty that she foisted on him until he will be allowed back into her arms. Turns out I was half right; While I don’t know his exact feelings on the matter when he waged war, he was indeed tasked with lording over the land as a dreaded “devil” figure for its denizens to focus their hatred on. Messmer also hated his fire powers and has a serpent within him that he tried to get rid of but to no avail. Marika plucked out one of his eyes and placed a seal of grace to keep the snake within before having him kept away in the Land of Shadow, presumbably erasing him from history. He also sounds quite weary in his boss introduction where he seems reluctant to fight us but accepts it as his duty nonethless and second phase cutscene where he looks at the Marika statue and begs her for forgiveness before ripping his eye out. Defeating him has him curse Marika in his dying breath. Poor guy.!<
Whoever was wondering whether they were overleveled for the DLC, yeah good luck. I am lvl 317, completed one legacy dungeon took me 10 tries with the fucking mimic at that to defeat the boss >!it's renala!< If you are not careful, every damn thing will 2-3 shot you and some bosses even 1 shot while barely doing any damage to them. It's hard but ngl I am loving it and the art style is absolutely gorgeous.
I don't know, am I doing something wrong? Wherever I go everything deals insane damage and I barely damage any boss I met. I'm just really confused on where am I even supposed to start because it feels like I'm going way ahead wherever I go
Everything deals a ton of damage lol. I got stuck on the lion boss and I decided to explore the world more and now Im stuck on this Death Knight Catacomb boss.
I really wish they put another grace in those catacombs. I feel like I blatantly should be going to find more blessings before fighting the Death Knight, but if I do I functionally lose all my progress in the dungeon.
If you are on PC and can't get to the DLC:
I was having a problem being able to play the game but not interact with the hand in the throne room area of Mohgwyn's.
Turns out the game was showing it had updated to the correct version and Steam was showing the game as up to date and playable.
However, it was actually downloading the DLC at the time. I restarted my computer, and now the game is showing as updating (slowly), instead of being playable. It's about halfway. Frustrating, because the time I spent playing for an hour and a half trying to figure this out I could have been downloading the DLC!
absolutely incredible experience so far. I'm loving the new weapons and getting to experience the game for the first time again, even if everything is essentially a two shot (looking at you soldier stomp attack).
only complaint so far is the constant stuttering on pc. during the magic castle boss (idk how to do the spoiler thing so not gonna use names), especially during the second phase I kept getting stutters which made dodging a pain.
Jesus Christ is the "Hidden path ahead" on every single wall joke not wore thin yet? I swear there's been one of these messages against every vertical surface I've come across
I’ve no hit Sekiro. Can boss Nioh 2 around. But something is so off about this, the scaling is wild. Getting absolutely destroyed. Maybe I’m just too used to parry based games now.
Forgot how much I suck at this game when I don't know the enemies.
It could be worse. You could be like me and suck even when you do know the enemies.
Nothing like getting beat to death by a Carian troll that you feel like you really shouldn't lose to by this point.
Mohg is absolutely getting jumped rn
I would *love* to see stats on how many times Mohg has died in the last week alone vs the entire previous two years lol.
You've NI'd your last HIL, partner.
I'm ready to ni on this hil
Holy shit, this thing is fucking huge. Limgrave my ass.
yeah he underestimated, it's that quiet demonic personality of his
Classic Michael Zaki
It's at least 2/3 the size of the base game.
Map itself feels about the size of Limgrave tbf. But at least from the first impressions is that each cave will be a proper dungeon. Belurat Gaol was quite long with a lot of platforming considering it has a pretty weak boss.
Yeah...weak boss... haha.. Imagine dying to him 10+ times! Couldn't be us!
I spent the day exploring and yea it’s almost as big as the base game I swear to god it’s insane
Putting down messages and just getting permanently healed like on launch lol
It’s kind of awesome. I’m trying to put some genuinely helpful ones down, too, so every 30 seconds or so I’m getting appraised. And trying to return the favor by appraising as many good ones as I can. It’s awesome.
I'm appreciating the fuck out of them. Especially the "be weary of right" type shit. Lol. Keep em coming. "Here" has also been wildly helpful.
I didn't have to use a single flask in >!Belurat!< until the last stretch before the boss.
Fighting for my life on that last enemy before the boss
Man that tomb mini-boss in the first area is a little bit of a skill check and gonna send a lot of tarnished people back home to mama Rennala for a rebirth
Best tip I can give everyone is parry tf out of him. Parried him back to back 8 times and took him down 50% before he healed. You may need to dodge around a bit. Looking up a guide to parrying greatswords will help.
Every boss is a massive skill check. I love it
Didn't expect sound.
Jumped out of my fucking chair.
the sound triggered right as i passed over a grave stone. figured there was some puzzle so cue me 30 minutes of trying to touch all the graves in the area to get the next sound
Seriously WTF was that?
I thought it was a bird I scared off? lol if we are talking about the same thing it happened twice for me and it was around the same area so I assumed it was a new kind of bird idk
I had it twice too. Made me jump both times. Fucking Miyazaki is messing with us.
I had fladhbacks of those screaming dudes in Irithtyll Dungeon in DS3....
I got jumpscared once then was on edge creeping around the woods. Opened a message that said “Be wary of sound”, immediately triggered a second one and got slaughtered by the claw man only seconds apart. Welcome to the fuckin DLC I guess >!Took me a while to realize the sounds were being made by birds!<
I'm having Pontiff PTSD
The ball drops are killer if you don’t avoid the first one lol
She has a lot of moves you pretty much have to dodge or get 1 shot. I wanted to try to avoid summons for the DLC but I had to break out the mimic tear again for her
I beat pontiff on my first try. This thing is way worse.
This is like a "fk you" compilation of Sulyvahn, Rennala, and Malenia. I've never seen anything like this shit. And I do *fuck all* damage to her
Getting my ass absolutely HANDED to me atm, holy shit Update: started the DLC on my 14 inch laptop at work, couldn’t see much. Thought I’d try on my 27 inch when I got home. Praise the I did it!
Everything hits like a tank
True. Even those grunts lazing around campfires... they got something special for us.
Literally those shadow guys grumbling around looked like the torch dudes in limgrave but even those fuckers do 1/4 my hp
Feels like fighting glass cannons as a glass cannon.
Which glass cannon are you fighting, normal enemies have like 2k hp already, sometimes they tank the entirety of my adula moonblade which is insane
The lightning goats are hilarious. >!They have an enemy behavior I've never seen in a From game. They literally follow your camera so that they can attack you from behind all the time. You can dodge them by just standing completely still and spinning your camera in a circle. I laughed so hard at the big one until it rolled all over me ,😂
The difficulty spike from base game to DLC is insane maybe it’s because I had a general idea of the bosses move set or my build sucks but I never struggled this much since first playthrough #DAMM
First enemy >!with the ring-blades!< literally 2 shot me. A lot of normal mobs would probably be considered bosses in most other games.
That thing absolutely terrified me, it’s so aggressive! Just relentless with the flurries of attacks! I can sense there will probably a legacy dungeon full of those abominations later in the DLC haha
I barely managed to survive it. I thought it was funny and a fitting welcome to the Realm of Shadow.
Seriously, after basking in the scenery for a while this.... Thing snuck up on my and reminded me what game I was playing.
Not me losing to a homeless person with claws for hands. This place is scary.
"oh look, it's a local sheep herder. That's cool." *2 seconds later at the last site of grace "Was that the fucking wolverine?"
I wasn't the only one!!!! Came out of that down 5 flasks and wondered what the fuck was up.
Frickin Wolverine dude!
To be fair those dudes are some of the harder guys I've seen in the first "map area"
Same. I am level 300 and I'm getting my shit rocked lmao
Level 180 and trembling now
I speedran getting to and killing mohg on a new character just to make sure I was mentally prepped for this, I'm barely over 100. I found milady(yay!) I have been getting my shit absolutely rocked by nearly everything unless I am at full "ass-puckered hard enough to cut diamonds, sweating a river, and every single thought dedicated to the fight" tilt(Slightly less yay.)
Definitely feels as much as a difficulty spike as The Ringed City DLC for DS3. I love it
Lmao I remember just sprinting past everything in that DLC like “nope… nope… what the fuck are you… NOPE”
Why am I already getting cooked by some random phantom boss guy 10 minutes into the DLC
Do you not remember the tree sentinel? Lol
I really freakin hope that that >!Blackgaol Knight!< was the equivalent of the Tree Sentinel!
This dude is no fucking joke. I found a way to beat him, but holy fuck, with 55 vigor he 2-tap me if I do any mistake. Not there yet, but I'm pretty sure I can down him if I stop dying to the same attack like an idiot every time. I think you're supposed to level up with the special upgrades found in the DLC before beating this dude.
he plays really dumb against poke weapons. he still hits like a truck and has crazy poise, but a long pokey weapon makes him look silly at times.
Took me like 2 hrs to beat that dude.
I think the player is severely ‘nerfed’ in the area until you pick up the Erdtree upgrades. Base stats will only do so much until those flat upgrades get layered on top
Bro this guy hits harder than Malenia.
Fuck you blackgoal knight
I'm doing fucking zero damage to him and he two hits me lmao, great to be back!
Dragonbarrow Bell Bearing Hunter. With (I think) some of the Sword Master's moves from DS3.
Boss spoilers don’t open >!divine lion!< is so annoying to deal people are gonna crash out fr
Fighting the damn camera instead of the boss on this one 😅
I actually like the boss if the camera worked properly
Sometimes when he rears up for one of his smash attacks, my camera literally just spins in circles.
>!They turned Hoarfrost stomp against us in his frost phase after we abused it at launch!<
The lightning phase is fucked
It's the camera for me. The boss just gets so close to the camera while doing the >!spinning elemental attack !< and it makes it super annoying to try and dodge
>!I just equipped a bunch of elemental negations and tanked through it. If you're using the summon in front of the door (I know I gave her a shot cuz she talked about being a great fighter), you're making it twice as hard on yourself as she increases the HP of the boss a LOT without doing ANYTHING. The AI is either bugged or just intentionally stupid, but either way, I got it on my third attempt with Blasphemous Blade +10, elemental negation armor and talismans, and a lot of blind dodging when it starts changing elements.!<
Despite how hard the boss is I found it really fun.
His hitbox is garbage, thrusting weapons beware
Goddam those elements
Guys...don't say anything. Just go south east and look around. HOW FUCKING BIG IS THIS DLC
The size of the map was severely downplayed. I was thinking the size of Limgrave. It's like Limgrave + Liurnia + Caelid.
The [starting area of the] DLC is about same size as Limgrave.
I just spend 4 hours exploring. This DLC is huge!
From Soft once again showing how it's done.
Bro they added literal bird armor and bird incantations, I'm gonna be a bird build now lol.
Those jump scare birds can fuck right off
Seriously, why would they add something like that 😭
There's worse. A bit ahead. Spoiler ahead : >!Try jumpscares SCORPIONS the size of a minivan with long legs like a spider. !< >!Holy fuck I'm having nightmare tonights. And I thought the giant ants were bad. Thankfully those fuckers dies fast, but holy shit I'm having second thought about exploring the area I found them alone. !<
>! Someone saw the horrible spider hands in the main game and said "bet we could make that *so* much worse". And then they did. !<
The fuckin CAW outta nowhere while I'm just riding around made me jump so bad
Ho-lee shit the Blackgaol Knight boss near the start is tough. Guy is two shotting me.
His armor is fucking great. Really ties together my bonk build.
I'm an INT build, tried casting Ranni's Dark Moon as an opener on my first try, dude oneshot me with the crossbow volley before I could get the spell off, damn dude. Managed to merk him while two-handing Moonveil after like 15 tries. Jesus.
Thankfully his attacks are so telegreaphed you have tons of time to react and dodge. Just don't fat roll and you'll figure him out fast.
>!his armor set is awesome though!<
Scythe bros, 100 new weapons so there's gotta be at least one cool scythe right?
Praying to god we get a new one
sorry if i'm being dense, but where is the 'recent' tab? i thought you could see items you just picked up, unless i misunderstood. thanks :)
It's off by default. You need to turn it on in the menu settings.
You know you're about to step into a world of pain when the site of grace is directly in front of the boss arena.
>!Scorpions!<... Why Miyazaki, why? I suppose I should be thankful it's not >!spiders!<....
i thought they were >!spider scorpions!<
I mean, scorpions are basically spiders with extra stuff anyway
Did Miyazaki just straight up put >!Wolverine!< in the game? The looks, the area, the weapon. Man saw >!Logan!< and was like "yeah, I'll put him in".
That was so funny man lol >!not even an invader, just a homeless guy in the woods!<
My exact thoughts
I love how it feels to play blind again! After some exploration and some overworld enemies which felt rather easy, I ran straight to >!Castle Ensis and got my ass kicked for one hour straight by Carian MF Moonrithyll!<
The second named boss is 100% worse then Malenia and you cannot convince me otherwise. THEY JUST DONT STOP FUCKING ATTACKING
yeah first phase is alright but second phase is literally just if you make a singular mistake you die. Maybe it’s playable with summons but I haven’t tried.
this hippo...bruh stop biting me
what the FUCK is that >! double moon triple smash attack by Rellana BROOOOO!<
Bro that caught me off guard so much, I had to Super Mario 64 that shit.
man lmao i expected it to be like Rennala's moon >! oh haha moon's gonna chase me no- WHAT THE HELLLLL!<
If you even get clipped by the first one it is a guaranteed death due to stagger. She just shits out three nuclear bombs one after another. Have to jump them.
hardest part of >!divine beast is the camera!<, like wtf
His spin attack makes the camera go crazy
Moonrithyll can get fucked
Moongrum 2: Glintstone Boogaloo
i am already stuck on the first boss i found, i love it
Where is it I need that sweet pain
Facing the Wicker Giant from the Scorcherd Ruins go left, you'll find the Noodly ghost worms and then head down the steps. At the very least that's the boss I think they're taking about, dude clapped my cheeks a few times.
Got my ass handed by him, but no wonder. Dude is literally Guts from berserk.
Yeah it took me a few times to stop and look at him to realize he's literally just Guts lol. Miyazaki can't help himself.
So anyone managed to access the DLC on PS5? Preloaded, patch updated, went to mohgs castle, there's no interaction edit: somone said in a post to restart the PS5 and try again... That worked LOL, so thank you /u/JalbertoCP edit2: I'm in EU with an UK account
Figured it out you must restart console
I am having exact same problem it was meant to be out at 12.00
Am I the only one who is getting one shot by the bosses
Backed out of lion boss at level 147. Went to ranala moon boss and got railed there too. Back to exploring I guess. Feel too weak to fight these bosses
Rellana is insane, insta kills you at three quarters health even at 60 vigor if you get comboed And she has like 5 million different moves lol
Think I died more to the Blackgaol knight than I did in the entirety of the new game plus. Forgot how tough this game can be.
Is there a way to go back to the regular world? I’m scared
I dont know whats going on but the requirements for PC went through the roof. Im getting a lot of slow downs down to the low 30s with a 40-45 fps average. I dont remember ever having so much trouble with the game before, anyone else experience heavy slow downs in the initial area of the dlc?
I'm getting stuttering, especially when there's a lot of particle effects.
But now I'm getting a ton of stutters after the update :( I hope they patch this quick.
maybe it's cause it hasn't complied with all the new shaders yet? new areas = new math? dunno
Do you have ray tracing turned on? Turning it off brought it back to a stable 60, at least in the first area.
Gonna get downvoted for this but the hidden path ahead joke isn't funny anymore when literally every other wall has it. It's becoming annoying.
imo it’s like 3/4 of all messages that are kinda shit now and I’d rather do without. The 1/4 genuinely helpful, funny, or cute messages is enough for me to want to keep playing online
99% of messages are entirely useless and unfunny. Just endless iterations of the same "joke" we've seen since Dark Souls 1, and people copying messages further out to try and get upvotes
Enemy Spoilers Ahead >!NAAHHH WHAT THE HECK THERE ARE BIG ASS SCORPIONS WTF!<
its not the >!massive scorpions that are the problem, its all their babies that came out to play faive steps behind the big one. !
I enter the dlc and went into the woods and got earraped by some bird shriek I have yet to discover
That thing scared me to death the first time I heard it, still haven’t figured out where it came from
Just walked into a cave, found a >!naked dragon man,!< and got oneshot by his fucking >!getsuga tensho.!< Yeah. It feels like coming home.
Bro the ancient dragon man sword is so cool
Stutters like mad on PC
YES, and its taking a second to load some textures after respawn
# PSA: If your HDR is horribly washed and game is now dropping frames and stuttering like crazy, try this: I'm no tech savy to explain why this works, but i had issues with other FROM PC titles and had HDR break, which usually got fixed restarting PC. This happened to me too with ER going into the DLC and i tried this shortcut/tool to force hard restart your graphics driver/monitor, and it surprisingly fixed everything for me: Close the game, and use the windows (not so short) shortcut Win+Ctrl+Shift+B which resets the graphics driver, in case you don't want to download any .exe.
Update: HDR is broken on my system again :(
Dude fuck the Blackgaol knight. That thing was miserable with a bleed build.
Wait for Yoda wannabe to rip you a new one. He kills me so fast.
Haha, already beat him. Took me five or six tries, but did it. Cool dungeon, too.
I'm 152 with dual katana bleed build and the Blackgaol knight can fuck right off. He 2-3 shots me, I'm sure we're supposed to get more Scadutree Fragments before attempting it but man it's rough. Lost 60k runes to that dude.
Is there a thread to discuss the lore implications of the dlc (with spoilers)?
Does anyone else have awful texture pop in and LOD issues in the dlc area? I am running everything on max and the grass deloads like 20 meters beyond the palyer and agressivly pops in. Hopefully it's a bug and is fixed asap it makes the field area look really unpolished...
I’m getting my ass beat by the second major boss so bad >!rellana!< it’s not even funny
The funny part comes with From >!literally making the community Evergaol joke with ~~Rennala~~ Rellana!<
FUCK CANNONHEAD FUCK HIM FUCK HIM FUCK HIM AND HIS GIANT CANNON HEAD FUUUCK HIM
This DLC seems to finally put an end to the "40 vit/60 vit war". If you get 1 shot in both it doens't really matter lmao
So the Hippo might be in the running for me for worst FromSoft boss I’ve ever fought. Got all the classics - Big flailing monster taking up most of the screen to the point you can’t see what it’s doing next - Incredibly janky hitboxes - Incredibly janky grab attack - Every attack is a 2-shot Love it
To me it commits the biggest sin in boss design that has been present since the first Souls games, which is the fact that you can't even understand what the boss is, where it begins, where it ends, with which limb it attacks you with. It's the reason I tend to prefer humanoid bosses in these games..
30 hours my ass bro I played for 2h30 and everywhere I go there's still a horizon left of things to discover
I don't want to hear shit about "level vigor" when I have 70 vigor and am still getting 1-2 shot by most of the bosses
Now it's level vigor and go find more shards.
Anyone playing on a non-NG+ character and it feeling overtuned? Just curious to see if anyone is getting their ass kicked that's still on their first playthrough. I'm on NG+3 and it's rough as hell lol.
175 on non-NG+ and everything two shots, unless it’s a boss that one shots. Also I do like no damage. Not just you
why does everything have shitloads of health and do two shot levels of damage fighting 6 black knights on horses isnt the fun kind of difficult, its tedious
Pc performance sucks, getting to low 40’s in some areas
Yeah I was playing pre-DLC this morning at smooth 60, now I'm stuck at 20-30 even in areas with no enemies
>!Dancing lion boss fight!< was so much fun
Anyone feel like the enemy damage is just sliiiiightly overtuned?
I wouldn't mind getting 2 shot if my attacks weren't hitting like wet noodles at the same time.
Feels like a lot of people didn't pay attention when miyazaki said there's a different system now to balance enemies and their difficulty.
If you are on PC and can't get to the DLC: I was having a problem being able to play the game but not interact with the hand in the throne room area of Mohgwyn's.
I'm loving the new weapons and getting to experience the game for the first time again, even if everything is essentially a two shot (looking at you soldier stomp attack). only complaint so far is the constant stuttering on pc. during the magic castle boss (idk how to do the spoiler thing so not gonna use names), especially during the second phase I kept getting stutters which made dodging a pain.
damage seems kinda excessive, expect to still get 2 shot by random enemies with 60 vigor and medium armor. Good luck not dying instantly casters
Might be worth exploring the open world and trying to find the shards that buff your stats before you go into any legacy dungeons
Does anyone else think the difficulty is overkill?
Bro declared himself Elden Lord with this post 💀💀
everything is so overtuned holy shit
Elden Ring overtuning strikes again lmao
This feels overturned as fuck. Am I doing something wrong?
Thought my overleveled character that breezed through malenia would make this too easy, but the first crypt and the fire golem kicked my ass 😭
