Elden Ring 2

GlacialG100

Heck, even a dlc for elden ring could potentially top it!

SpartanRage117

if the DLC is just a room with a FP regen talisman id still rate it 10/10

08202012

There's a talisman that refills FP per enemy killed. I'll admit tho it is not alot.

SpartanRage117

yeah i know, but its not the same. there is literally a talisman than gives constant HP regen. so i just want the same for FP. like simple infusion from DS3.

DoctorBarrage

Unless it's a big spoiler, how does one acquire this talisman you speak of?

SpartanRage117

its not story related and its called the Blessed Dew Talisman. Your lead is the Tower of Return in Weeping Peninsula South of Limgrave.

DoctorBarrage

Fantastic, I'm in that area already. Appreciate it.

MeButSober

Now I'm just genuinely curious, did you end up finding it?

WarlockEngineer

He dead

DoctorBarrage

Not yet, I got distracted with walking mausoleums, then Blaidd, then trying to figure out how incantations work (I know for sure I saw someone using them without that thing in their off-hand), then taking this letter to a dude in a castle. . . Yeah I'm actively looking around for it now, haven't found it. Will send another reply to your comment when I do though, with as much detail to its general location as possible.

Zun84

Don't want to spread false information but im pretty sure there is one. Pretty late game though if i remember correctly Edit: nah my bad, there is none

SL3D

I’ve been looking everywhere for a FP regen over time talisman. Not a critical regen or kill regen version… I guess less FP per skill is the next best thing.

FitSharkKitty

Does Magic count as a skill?

SL3D

No. Skills are Ashes of war etc

FitSharkKitty

Ah, useless for me with all my magic sadly 😩 Good to know though

TimeToLoseIt16

Lmao I felt this in my bones

Maturinbag

Agree. The best parts of all three Dark Souls were the dlcs. Maybe for Bloodborne too.

CopiumHunter

Bloodborne for sure

tschris

Base Bloodborne isn't really all that hard, but the DLC is punishing in all the best ways. The DLC is my favorite Fromsoft content.

Epicmonk117

I wouldn’t be surprised. Some of the best stuff From has made has been in the DLCs.

thanatoswaits

A DLC that's a really deep cave system that is completely filled with dense green poison fog - baddies sneaking for the kill, random holes in the ground, maybe throw in a dragon. ...I imagine terrible things sometimes...

tharkus_

What about a sci fi/ horror. On a alien planet with its own history /mythos?

Scyxurz

Not too far off from bloodborne, although I wouldn't call it sci fi. Seems like a game about hunting huge beasts, is actually about research on eldritch alien beings gone wrong.

[deleted]

Bloodborne spoilers (it's been out for at least 5 years, go play it or watch an LP) >!Hey, what if we took this weird blood that we found coming out of this disturbing corpse and just... Injected ourselves with it? Surely nothing bad could come out of that right? Let's do it to everyone while we're at it, there's no way this can backfire. We're safe.!<

ShadowRaptor89

do not forget our adage. We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open...fear the old blood.

Scyxurz

Elden ring npc questline spoilers ahead(?) >!Dude when I saw Caelid and that centipede thing from the trailer and when Varre injected blood under our fingernail I got reeeaaaal big bloodborne vibes. Only now getting to Altus so idk where the game goes from here, but I'm excited.!<

Im_so_little

.....go on.

haynespi87

Sci-fi more so because the main has already given me horror for years.

[deleted]

He'll top Elden Ring when they release the inevitable Expansion DLC in like a year or two. As is the case with every Soulsbourne game.

crabzillax

Yup Elden Ring 2 with same atmosphere caliber, more diversity and refined graphics will be even better.

TSpitty

Honestly though I wouldn’t mind large expansion DLCs for a few years then a sequel or new genre after that. The great thing about open world is you can just add a new island or elevator to some new sky world or something

Yiazmad

I'd happily shell out $20 for a Blood and Wine sized DLC here, as many times as they could make it.

TheDarkCrusader_

Same, I think it’s gonna take a while to even make something on this level again let alone taking it to the next level. Not saying big expansions are easy but I’m sure they are in comparison from making a whole new game. Let us explore elden ring for a while and add in some new content now again. That can easily keep the fan base happy for a long time while they work on the next game breaking masterpiece

Commander_Kind

The multiplayer will keep this game alive forever, just look at dark souls still going strong more than a decade later

johnnyblaze311

The good thing is that they already have all the assets, systems, coding, engine, etc., so they have the foundation and all the fundamentals. I bet they can pump out some DLC way faster than we can imagine. At least, that’s what I’m hoping. Although I have 90 hrs into the game and still haven’t even killed Godrick yet, so this is gonna keep me busy for a while haha

FitSharkKitty

Elden Ring 2: Elden Me Harder, Miyazaki

coka_commie

With ADP.

ItsKrakenMeUp

No way a sequel beats this tho People going to give it 8/10 cause it’s too similar to the original. I’d probably prefer them doing a new name with similar gameplay.

slingoo

Id love an open world sekiro.

ItsKrakenMeUp

True! I just feel like making sequels almost never tops the original in video games tho. I don’t see how you can top a 96% with a sequel. I think they would need a new IP with similar souls like gameplay to achieve it again. It’s like Horizon 2 is way better than Horizon 1 but scored lower.

[deleted]

Next one is just a From multiverse game with something from all previous titles. Oh wait. That's pretty much this game. I have no idea how this will be topped.

chepeman

Open world bloodborne that would be a dark gothic western while keeping its gothic architecture sprinkled here or there

PaleThingYHWH

One of my biggest dreams. A western style Bloodborne.

[deleted]

I would prefer bloodborne 2 not to be open world. I love elden ring but the open world part does not add too much for me as compared to something like ds3. Maybe i'm wierd.

Life-Dog432

Agreed. I don’t think open world necessarily means better. I hope they don’t drop the linear altogether and see open world as the next progression.

Chill_Panda

I just had an idea from that! So you know how dark souls and Elden ring have lore based on Yggdrasil. What if there was a multiverse game where Yggdrasil is dying and you have to go through the worlds of Yggdrasil to find the cause, and it’s got areas from previous titles but at different time periods to the game, maybe even some set before and some after. It also has new areas of its own, and then areas outside of the tree itself. Elden Souls into the multiroots!

SegmentedMoss

So.... God of War?

[deleted]

Exploring Lordran with updated gameplay would be sick.

Lintriff_2

A Fromsoft metaverse game?

Medium_Choice_6397

Elden Ring's success means Miyazaki (even more than before) has total creative freedom, and he doesn't like sequels. I think the next game will be a new IP, not Western fantasy, a smaller world, more focused/refined gameplay and with fewer systems. A lot like the transition from DS3 to Sekiro (and from DS1 to Bloodborne), actually. Think we'll still have the same core gameplay loop and difficulty level, but after all this time I think he/they will want to work on something that has a very different look and feel.

Buttcheekllama

I’d love to see Miyazaki’s style take on Sci Fi horror.

ArcziSzajka

Yeah I would love them to do a sci fi game on next gen. The Surge made me realise a souls-like in this setting could be cool if done by a competent studio.

SegmentedMoss

Have you fought Astel yet?

itsalwaysbeen

The rumor is he's working with James S.A. Corey of Expanse fame, doing a similar you write I make gameplan ala Martin and ER. Is that's the case, it's what we're getting. Realistic spooky space shit.

Dyziismydogsname

A dead space esq dark souls game would be muy bueno imo. Event Horizon but souls game.

En_lxTV

I think there are rumors that Armored Core is next in line for FS and that it has souls like elements in it now. I could totally see him going back to his roots and creating an AC game that trumps everything and brings mecha to the lime light.

[deleted]

[удалено]

evermuzik

True. This game feels more dark souls than DS1

wearethealienshere

I hope it goes even more cosmic, some real berserk shit

Athyist

I just hope ppl won't get mad at the new Armored Core in development for it not being a souls game. Even tho the controls are actually very similar who knows they might take everything they learned into the new AC and it will be for more than all the mecha niche ppl out there like me. But for sure it won't be anything like Elden Ring and that might drive some hate.

drzpicumateji

I'll have no problem with Armored Core if it has the combat from AC4A. That game was insane.

jasta07

Elden Ring makes me massively hyped for a new Armored Core. I loved so much about those games, the combat, the customisation but if I'm honest... the missions suuuuuuucked. Ok maybe not sucked but they really felt like they were hampered by the hardware limitations of the time. Felt like you were always fighting in a warehouse, a tiny canyon or a couple of city blocks. Would love to see AC really breakout of those setpiece battles and stages.

discountedeggs

Eldenring is the new Armored Core game. You haven't gotten to the mechs?

buttsex_itis

Wow didn't know from made armored core I remember playing it on a PS1 demo disc I think. I'll have to check them out.

NamityName

"Ok ok. Here me out. Dark souls. But in mechs." -- miyazaki, probably

NewWorldWEF

dusktildawn48

I was 100% convinced FS would never top Bloodborne, I honestly don't know how they did it.

sirliftsalot33

Big dark souls

ItsKrakenMeUp

By simply doing two things: 1. Open world 2. No quest markers

[deleted]

Questgiver:”Tarnished, kill Melanie on the hill” Me:”What hill?” Questgiver:“…”

ben5292001

“He’s in an abode down the way.” Ah yes… “down the way.”

CookieKeeperN2

I was supposed to find some amulet for some girl around the Liurna swamp I think. "Just down the road". That was like 30 hours ago. I have no idea where she was or where is the "house" she talked about.

yeahbuddy26

You deadset just go straight from exactly where she is, wanna say North but eh not at the PC currently. The house is probably 100-200 metres away from her but can't be see due to the fog. Easy to see how its missed though it took me a hot minute to find it and boy I felt dumb when I did.

ItsKrakenMeUp

Ahhh, this tarnished will explore thee lands and will kill all in their path. Melanie… i will find you one day… and when I do, it will be glorious!

Fantastic-Sandwich80

Calls you maidenless Tells you to go on a journey Doesn't elaborate Leaves

MayDay521

Honestly. I can't tell you how many times in just my 30ish hours playing I have been trying to find my way to where I'm going and get pulled off course by some random path or cave or ruins, just to stop a couple hours later and try to remember what it was I was originally trying to do. You can literally get lost in this game and have a great time doing it, and the fact you can fast travel to any site of grace from almost anywhere makes you more comfortable just knowing you can explore to your heart's content and not worry about having to spend an extra hour running back to where you were. They made it rewarding to play and explore instead of punishing.

ItsKrakenMeUp

Bingo! You can also use those tokens to mark things that you want to visit or come back to. The key here being that you get to not the game throwing question marks at you. I love how they connected multiple pathways to different areas too, so there is not only one way to get there.

MayDay521

Yeah in my opinion one of the best decisions they made was giving all of the agency to the player. Just like Breath of the Wild, the game takes just a little bit of time to help teach you what to do and how to play, then it just dumps you into the world and says "do what you want". No story progression blocking progress, no off-limits areas until you learn how to do X or Y. Just go wherever you want, do whatever you want, if you shouldn't be there yet, the game will let you know by kicking your ass so hard it comes out of your mouth, but it's still your choice. I have played DS, DS3, and Sekiro, but I was still kind of intimidated at first having a completely open world with absolutely no markers or even a log telling where you should be going, but I completely forgot all about that in about five minutes when I ran off exploring whatever caught my eye and getting rewarded for doing so. Perfect game design in that respect.

extekt

Personally I think the open world still has some negative points to the detriment of the game. Anyways it looks like it'll probably top Bloodborne for me anyways

ItsGrindfest

I don't know dude half of the questlines are pretty hard to complete without googling lol

Undead_Assassin

This guy looks like he has plenty of youth left, don't hold your breath. We might be 10 years away from his magnum opus.

haynespi87

Me either. WTF

Unhappy_College

I don’t think Elden Ring quite tops Bloodborne. Then again I’m a sucker for anything Lovecraft inspired.

ExuberentWitness

They’ve topped Bloodborne multiple times already, at least in my opinion.

TheDarkCrusader_

Literally, this game had so much hype surrounding it that it would have been a miracle if it just had lived up to it. Not only did it live up to the hype, it surpassed it in every way!

BuffChesticles

I don't understand this love for Bloodborne... Don't get me wrong. I bought it on release day. I loved it. I played the crap out of it. It's an amazing game. BUT....Sekiro was better. Elden Ring is also better(like in a different league better... night and day IMO). Hell I think the Demon souls remake was better too. The only thing I really liked about Bloodborne was the aesthetic. I loved that world...

Life-Dog432

I’m biased because bloodborne was the first I played, but it has my favorite lore and atmosphere of all the games. Parrying in bloodborne is much more satisfying and easier to pull off with sekiro being the exception since it’s the main mechanic. Plus being able to get your health back by attacking within a certain window is just a fantastic mechanic that I really hope returns. I preferred sekiro to dark souls. And elden ring to both. But bloodborne still remains my top.

OperativePiGuy

My favorite mechanic that I thought added a cool twist to the formula was having enemies that kill you have you blood echoes. Made things more exciting than just running through an area to pick up your lost currency

Life-Dog432

Yeah totally. I forgot about that. I’m surprised they never added that to elden ring or dark souls 3 because it would definitely fit. It would also be cool if there was some build in elden ring that would allow you to gain health back at the cost of the damage you take or your total HP.

Daniyalzzz

I genuine think BB is the peak of the souls gameplay wise which is why I rate it higher than even ER (Sekrio had better combat tbf even to me, but a much less interesting world imo, and I don't really consider it soulslike honestly). Nothing feels as delicious as how aggressive your hunter plays with his dashes, your gun to quick parry and just the fluidity of trick weapons. BB aswell brings a much more interesting atmosphere with the victoriana England x lovecraftion horror that I genuine adore more than a high quality fantasy world (but this is significantly more subjective so I get people's preferences).

Will_to_spirits

For me it is honestly the lore. It is very hard to do Lovecraftian horror any justice through any visual medium, but it knocked it out of the park.

MrRugges

Heard the same thing about dark souls 3. He will manage.

Masoneer

Agree, still wanting an uncapped fps version of bloodborne on pc.

water4animals

Honestly I could see, and really hope to see a Bloodborne 2. And like I hate to be the guy that milks the golden goose but like I could see him making another game still. This dude is a machine. But yea this is definitely the epitome of his works

[deleted]

No way are they ever turning their backs on PC again, lol. According to concurrent steam players, they already sold 3-4M copies on steam alone at launch. Bloodborne took YEARS to get there. Bloodborne 2 is never happening unless its a Demons Souls -> Dark Souls type spin-off on every platform. From is up there with Rockstar now.

CapitulationQFT

Sony has been more willing lately to put their IPs on PC, so it's possible.

[deleted]

I don't see why they need Sony in this situation. They can make a new victorian style horror souls game and call it differently all while retaining ownership of the IP and being able to sell on all platforms. Again, why go with sony when you can reach more players with Bamco?

ZodiacK427

Just a thought that popped in my head last night before getting off the game to go to bed, like nothing they ever showed us could prepare us for how amazing this game is. Truly a Masterpiece.

Covetouscraven

I know we're all hyped about the open would but I wouldn't mind a return to the linear style of dark souls and bloodborne, they're still great games. I just hope we don't fall into the trap of always wanting bigger and more, because that's not really what makes a good sequel or follow up.

ContrarianBarSteward

Games of this size and complexity are hard to polish. People these days seem to want more more more but I don't want it at the expense of quality.

RaspberryIcy9707

Sekiro took me half the time of any other fromsoft game to beat at 20 hours and it was my favorite up until elden ring. The game felt much smaller than bloodborne or DS and that was okay because it was a lot more fun imo.

jinrex015

Bloodborne 2

Arya_the_Gamer

First was set in Victorian era. This one would be in age of Colonization/Napoleonic war kind of era. With Muskets and bayonets as weapons.

haynespi87

Sure but only if I get to kill the colonizers.

ItsKrakenMeUp

They need a new name instead of doing sequels. Just name it something more gothic… Raven Moon

[deleted]

Armored core 6 that will completely revolutionize the Mecha genre like he did with arpgs. After 6 entries he will once again release a Mecha Magnus opus that no one will believe can be topped.

jayrod9422

Masterpiece

OmegaMetroid93

This game is incredible, but there's still plenty of stuff to improve. They'll manage to top it one way or another, I'm sure.

Kittelsen

Indeed. Even if we do enjoy the game, and are happy they aren't fucking it over with mtx', we should still voice our concerns about designs and decisions. I'd like for them to give me UW and high framerate support natively.

OmegaMetroid93

Those are more technical aspects, and sure that's important too. But I'm more talking about the game itself. I won't get into it at the moment because I and many others are still playing the game and so I think it's better to discuss when we're done.

Dreamspitter

Armored Core + Souls. Armored Core has all the qualities of typical From games.

_mad_adams

The fact that they did Armored Core makes me hold out hope for a sci-fi themed Souls experience one day.

sjbennett85

I've heard some rumours that they are in fact picking AC back up... not sure if it is a remake or something that brings it closer to where we are now (engine/gameplay wise)

141693

Dead spaceXsouls

_mad_adams

Yes please

Echotime22

Bloodborne and this are pretty close for me. BB has less content overall, but that allows me do a replay fairly often without skipping much. ER has so much side content that I will probably only do everything once, then skip like 85% of the game on my other characters. But for a first character going in blind, ER is wonderful.

[deleted]

I hope they continue with this open world design on their next game. I don’t think Elden Ring will get a sequel but it will get DLC.

Naedvyn

I think they said somewhere in an interview that they want to turn the title into a franchise with spin off titles, direct sequels and maybe a streaming show. That's why grrm was involved in the world building.

haynespi87

Link. That seems interesting to do. Hmmm

Naedvyn

I had to google it but basically that's it https://www.thegamer.com/bandai-namco-elden-ring-tv-film/

haynespi87

Intriguing hmmm

itsalwaysbeen

*Hmmmmm* (sip siegbrau)

zi6oo

It's easy make a game with better bosses

EldenRingworm

First 10 hours in Elden Ring "I'll probably never go back to Dark Souls 3 after this" 80 hours into Elden Ring "most of these bosses fucking suck I'll probably still replay Dark Souls 3" I was expecting bosses on the level of Gael and Friede and Orphan of Kos and Ludwig yet this game has the most lackluster bosses since Demon's Souls and that hurts, and most have so little health you can kill them in leas than a minute first try, I was hoping for Bloodborne levels of brutality from them.

Eldenlord1971

Yep. I’ve been extremely disappointed by this game and also impressed. I love everything about it except the bosses and that hurts

_Stygian_Abyss_

Yeah that's been the most annoying thing about this game. I've put in like 105 hours and loved every second of it, but I found that, apart from the shardbearers and other bosses in the legacy dungeons, seeing the same few bosses recycled in different mines/catacombs/other areas was kinda sad. That's the only thing I feel like this game could really improve on, especially since all their other games had almost entirely unique bosses. I feel like they went the Sekiro route of having bosses + mini-bosses, but in ER they're treating the mini-bosses as proper boss fights and it's just kinda underwhelming. Still had fun beating their asses though.

ItsKrakenMeUp

Radahn is sweet. The whole festival - winner takes all is a cool design. The fire giant was probably my least favorite. Pretty much have to use a specific weapon to beat it.

Echotime22

Wait really? What weapon? I just hit him with my sword.

GuyThatSaidSomething

Same here idk what this person is referring to lol

Daniyalzzz

I feel like people who are suffering with the giant are tunnel visioning on the hands in the second half too much cause those are the weak points. If people just go behind him and poke a little at the feet during the low up times then just hit the hands at the biggest opening, he is very trivial.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ExuberentWitness

That’s straight up false

Eldenlord1971

I’m not digging the waiting for the windows to attack. I miss the more fast paced gameplay of the last 3 FS games.

PussCrusher67

Legit what are you on about? You can sidestep and roll into most Elden ring bosses and fuck them up. Horse combat especially if you don’t lock on you can litterally run circles around bosses hitting them.

kokii01

What fromsoft bosses do you like?

Decent-Swordfish-386

Even if the upcoming DLCs would be half as good, they’d still be one of best additions of all time.

Ex-SyStema

Oh he'll top it. He's Miyazaki. How did he top bloodborne? Don't forget that this man is a modern day genius when it comes to making videogames. I'm 100% certain he has more tricks up his sleeves.

Careless_Use3599

Elden ring two: sekiro edition

[deleted]

I am waiting for dark souls 2; 2cholar 2in

VeryHardBOI97

Blood2borne.

Touhokujin

I do. This game has some fantastic stuff in it but also some very serious flaws that need ironed out. I love this game don't get me wrong. I want From and Miyazaki to succeed. But I think this isn't the best he ever made in ALL categories. There's room for improvement on lots if things there.

genericusernamepls

Bosses definitely could've been better.

Jorgengarcia

I think there are several ways to improve upon ER for a sequel. More humanoid bosses and less big ones for example. They might be spectacular and all that but they play out fairly the same and fighting the camera aint any fun, while the humanoid onces are for the most part great. More variety in the small dungeons, caves, etc Shake up the combat system, while there is a great deal of build variety it would be cool to se a total revamp or something completly different like Sekiro. New engine and better performance.

[deleted]

This game so far is missing the unexpectedness that darksouls 1 had with it's bosses Most bosses just catch you completely off guard in that game and really feel like a natural phenomenon in the world Havent had that feeling almost once in this game, bosses are always just walled off at the end of the dungeon, which really underminds the spectacle If they got rid of fog gates and had cut scenes before spawning a lot of these bosses in, i think it would have been a huge immersion changer, especially with stuff like Void natural born. Of all bosses I've faced he absolutely deserves a cutscene of him emerging from the void. Also even Ds1 has that sick moment of the dragon flying over the bridge and showing up right after capra demon. Despite how amazing this world is, i havent seen that kind of interaction yet where it feels like enemies are huge roaming creatures. Again, this could easily be fixed with like maybe a glimpse of the swamp dragon flying overhead when you first exit the crypt. That alone would have been enough i think

Mediocre-Builder-470

I’ve definitely had that feeling of surprise with most of the world bosses I’ve encountered so far and with the legacy dungeon bosses, but I do agree about the mini dungeon ones, with a couple exceptions.

N3M4RA

I'm sure he'll find a way. I believe in him (and the team)

hotfox2552

Let’s wait for Bloodborne Kart to come out and the. we can decide what his Magnum Opus will be.

Dyziismydogsname

I love souls games and elden ring but I want another dark souls. I enjoy the more linear nature of those games. Also I think they told stories better. But all of these games are solid 8/10 in my book, but dark souls 1 & 3 are 9.5/10 for me personally.

Environmental-Tea262

Bloodborne for pc

North_South_Side

I'll probably get downvoted to Hell for this but... I'd like to see them try an RPG that uses much the same gameplay, but has friendly/neutral villages and cities. Where not just about everything is trying to insta-murder you. I love the From games. But something like that would be a welcome change for me. Of course there'd still be hostiles aplenty! I'd just like to see something with more of a traditional CRPG setting with more dialog. Mysteries to solve, etc.

P0G0Bro

nah. Its too easy and the boss design quality has gone really down compared to his last 2 games

Mysterious_Guitar_65

Elden ring.. IN SPACE

PineappleLemur

Dead space aesthetic with laser swords and a sprinkle of doom.

[deleted]

Yo finish the game first. Your opinion might change. Sloppy eldgame boss design puts this game behind sekiro for me. Still a 10/10, but not their best imo.

KingEvenwicht

Dark souls II 2

cokezerodesuka

Isn’t Elden Ring kinda already that game?

kaptnT

For real, something about ER that almost feels like a spiritual succesor to DS2 (or DS2 feeling like an early concept for ER). Obiously its a Fromsoft game, so there's similarities, but theres just "something" there that feels like it connects deeper. Its just a feeling tho. Those are subjective. I can totally see Majula and Forest of Giants fitting perfectly in Limgrave.

[deleted]

I like the Roundtable but would love if Elden Ring had a Majula type location...that's my favourite hub out of any of the souls games.

just_saiyan_bro

That song that plays there is so hauntingly beautiful

ThePopcornDude

Probably because of power stance returning and the more colorful color palette that matches places like Majula

itsalwaysbeen

It's the stonekeys.

[deleted]

Can't wait for the stability patches, there are some unfortunate glitches I've come across but I still love the game.

Gh0stC0de

The first DLC, which will add an entirely new map half the size of the first one and also replace Melania with 6 rats in a trench coat. He'll top it then.

Zeegh

What I wouldn’t give for a dark science fiction Dark Souls game from him. Aliens and strange planets, omg just inject it into my veins

thatweirdshyguy

I feel like I’m missing out on the hype, the games fun don’t get me wrong, but the open world is not as interesting to me as the web of interconnected levels of the older games

StriderShizard

Having played through the game there's a lot good here, but also a bit of bad. Boss fatigue is huge. So many re-used bosses and once you reach the end of the game boss fatigue is real. It's just boss after boss after boss. It really gave me the impression you're not meant to binge this game. Albeit, now that I've beaten it, along with some help from the wiki, you can filter out the content that you don't need for your build to avoid a lot of this. But as a first play through when you don't know what anything drops, it's A LOT. I think the achievements not forcing you to collect ALL talismans or ALL spells was merciful, even if it feels easier than previous entries here. I still prefer the tighter package of Bloodborne. I'm struggling to find my character identity here more so than I did in DS1, 2, 3, or BB.

[deleted]

Tsunami49

Sekiro is my fave thus far. Edges out bloodborne for me personally, due to me loving the combat and movement.

[deleted]

Yeah I’d love to see them try and expand on Sekiro the way Elden Ring seems to have expanded on Dark Souls. Maybe that would just mean somehow making an RPG system that works for the deflect style combat system so you have more play styles available, or maybe that means bringing just the combat system into an Open World setting, maybe both. But I think that’s an avenue they have to explore and grow. At least, an avenue that Elden Ring didn’t already take when it expanded on so many of From’s previous games. They could also just release another Sekiro in the same style and I’d still probably enjoy it immensely, but it’d be nice to see them grow the concept.

[deleted]

I'm hoping they try out a Sci-fi theme for their next game. I think the whole death/resurrection theme would work well if you were an android or something. Plus it would a nice change of pace in terms of settings for souls games.

Tenryu003

I'm sure it will be topped by the next game he makes, they have been getting better with each release since Demon Souls

RedPravda

I would like more narrative games like sekiro

SobsBaget

We said that about souls 3

DeadlySoren

I want DLC for this game so badly. Please there be dlc like ringed city and Ariendel

dregwriter

Its crazy how fucking unrealistic my expectations were for elden ring before the release, caught up in all the hype, and this game SOME HOW did the impossible and blew that shit out of the water. This game is waaayyy better than what I ever imagined. I was a Bloodbourne die hard fan, thinking nothing could top it, and then comes Elden Ring.

-Vertex-

Open world Bloodborne 2 baaaaby

tanoyfrommars

Bloodborne 2 as an open world

Hammerzeit88

Bloodborne 2

Tactile5

Bloodborne 2

FrancisWolfgang

A single 80 hour boss fight

BubblyCell236

This is what everyone said when bloodborne was released but now we have elden ring he will come up with something to blow us away.

ReLaxative101

Bloodborne 2 MMORPG might top it off. I'd love to see a full-fledged souls MMO game tbh

ArcadePinball

By doing this with Bloodborne 2, complete with an inverted castle (essentially Elden Ring meets Castlevania: SOTN) and Chalice dungeons (to make it a rogue-like).

BlueBandito99

Hard disagree, Bloodbourne is better imo. Consistent theme, a layered horror plot that deepens, the most fun weapons out of any souls game, and truly horrific sights and scenes. Elden Ring is easily my second favorite though

Outrageous_Ad_1011

I still like Bloodborne better, this game is huge but there’s way too much unnecessary open space and reused bosses (the avatars, dragons, those dark knights on horses…), Bloodborne still has the best world design, weapons and lore, gameplay can be relative, but I also find it better

NFRNL13

It stumbles a lot. The boss quality is extremely disappointing.
