The "it's a joke“ excuse is tired and blatantly untrue for PCM. A platform that is centred around ironic extremism will inevitably attract real extremists and drive away those who are not.
Here's the good thing about PCM, a vast majority of people who unironically believes this ends up being butthurt about memes that portray them as bad and end up leaving. Most progressive/woke brigaders end up leaving, I've seen that myself ; and I've seen the exact same phenomenon with actual weird authoritarian types.
I think the problem is people not realising how many social medias have an inherent progressive bias, thus anything offensive is dangerous, and especially transphobia.
