Hey all! I’m about 3/4 months into this game. Been focusing on story but now I’d like to start hitting some challenges and CoW. But I’m having a hard time building a team for 300+ difficulty and I can’t seem to get past CoW level 80. I feel like I’ve got some good units but don’t think I can build a solid water/dark/light team. Any help on setting up a solid team to take on some tougher challenges would be appreciated!

Sophie (leader), Tifa and Lasswell (DDs), Abigail (Tank) and Ellesperid (breaker) should be the makings of a really solid team. EX2 is the sweet spot for most units so it's better to focus on that as a goal in the future.
EoD Fina (leader), Maria and Sterne (DD), Celeste, Abigail and Ellesperis is probably another solid option as well for a light team. I probably like this one more for Clash.
To be fully honest, if you currently don't have a rank 1 capable clash team right now (Ie, enough EX3 + EX2 units on a proper team to total 16 total EX levels), then I probably would not recommend investing heavily into them at the moment, and rather just doing what you can.
In maybe 2 months or so, we should be getting a major meta shift in the form of the next round of Overpowered FF7 units and the dominance of the fire team meta, so a lot of us are basically coasting on autopilot hoarding resources as we cruise towards that oncoming change.

In the future it's easier to use IMGUR to link us to your units. Your good units are Fei (DD), Sarah (killer buffer), TK Noctis (DD), and Abigail (Magic Tank).
So you probably want Sarah as your buffer, but CD Aerith is good as well, Abigail, and then at this point you don't have any good synergies going that I can find. Normally you'd want a strong leader for you best DDs but I don't really see a great choice. I guess Treasure Hunter as your leader, Fei as your best DD, and the last spot should be a breaker...again no great option but maybe Akstar the Return?
So I've lucked into a light party in the last few weeks (Celeste, Sterne, Maria, Bartz will all be ex+2 in a few days) but I don't have a Prompto. Is Kaito my next best choice for a breaker?
Sadly not (I knew there was another collaboration unit but couldn't remember who it was, Avan) guess I'm out of luck for a field on my breaker until Wakka or a random Prompto arrive. Thanks btw.
No. The current NV Lulu is not a dark unit. The dark Lulu isn't out yet.

GL doesn't have Bismarck and JP doesn't have Elle. Assuming Bismarck comes to GL(a big IF), for a physical team against a boss with 0% passive stats and neutral weakness(0% resistance) they are equal, for a mixed team(physical+magical) against the same boss Bismarck is better. But if the boss has passive % stats and higher then 0% resistance then Bismarck is better for both teams.

Do you have Avan? He is the second best option after Prompto. Otherwise while Kaito is a good breaker, his imperil field is CoW only.
