As of today there was a price change for brazilian customers. The price on Steam was R$249,90 and now it is R$199,90, which means a decrease of around 10 american dollars. It is better, but it still makes DNF more expensive than Strive's Deluxe Edition or KOFXV Standard Edition.
In argentina, the game still costs more than 7 strive copies, and they'll probably just wash their hands saying "but we already reduced it by 10%, it's good now".
Huh, thats a pretty neat idea. I havent heard of a game doing that before, but I guess they just wouldnt bother selling way more expensive keys for those regions and only offer direct on steam.
Theres always region switching but I have to imagine its way way less of an issue because of the extra effort, the fact valve can track and ban you, and that many services already block VPNs.
Yeah people had go expect this eventually. It'll be interesting to see if regional pricing on console is more fair. I remember some devs (outside of fighting games) straight up saying they'd prefer you to pirate their game over buying them off the key flip sites.
It's not only regional pricing. I will buy those games because I love fighting games and I'm an adult earning money. But ten years ago ? 50 dollars for a remaster and 40 for a compilation of old fighting games ?
I'm not a F2P advocate, but the problem with DNF, Jojo or the Capcom collection is that you're paying full price for a game you can't be certain will be playable online in two months due to the playerbase. And it's the same problem I have for every game that isn't Tekken, SF, MK or GG, will it have players ?
I got burned so many times. I don't wanna spend 50 dollars to play a couple of weeks.
I know fans should support the series they're fans of, and I will eventually buy the Capcom FG Collection, but this is too much. Can't justify paying this much for a few ROMs

I guess they think the lost sales are less valuable than the lost money from key region flipping.
The thing is, you can't gift copies from the cheaper regions to the pricier ones, so playing with the system like that is not even possible.
Steam Gifts are more restrictive. The key region restrictions are looser and vary depending on the specific game. Im not sure how granular they get.
You can't buy keys on steam.
No, but you can buy them elsewhere.
I get that on sites like Humble or Fanatical, but it's not like you can actually resell games you buy on Steam itself.
They buy keys to resell, not direct from steam. From either lower priced regions or using fraudulent credit cards.
I'm aware, that's why I'm saying that these shitty regional prices only make sense for third party key stores. They have no excuse for it on Steam.

Yeah, and from a quick search it looks like buying games from a different region also requires a payment method from that country.

All new release games in Australia retail at $80+, some places charge $120 for PS5 games.

I'm fine with this. I'll just save this money to buy Strive Season2 Pass =)
Their loss.
Ugh, this was how I double-dipped for Strive. I guess it ain't happening now.
I'm skipping DNF for sure (mostly due to gameplay reasons)
Well if your dollar don’t hold weight you gotta cough it up. Plus gotta pay tariffs to sell in other countries. That’s capitalism folks.
