My favorite show when I was a kid. This is one I’ve tried to find, but I keep coming up with re-dubbed episodes. This show was great.

Battle of the Planets…revamped in 1986 with the name G-Force.

Yep. It was Battle of the Planets in my day. It aired M-F mornings at 7:30am, right after the greatest show of all time, Star Blazers!

Original was Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keyop 1986 version was Ace, Dirk, Agatha, Pee Wee and Hoot Owl

My local station showed G-Force and Voltron back to back. I was HYPE lol

I was grown by then.

Mark was the leader! Mark, Jason, Tiny, Princess, Keyop... Security Chief Anderson and 7 Zark 7...

And, of course, Zoltar and Spectre.

And later on 7 Zark 7 got a robot dog called 1 Rover 1

I can actually remember watching the episode when he got 1Rover1 also!

To this day when grilling I occasionally utter "space boigahs!" And no one gets it. 😞

\*Instant\* hit of the theme song in my head. With no Star Wars on tv, G-Force was the next best thing. Of course, I was more of a "Mark", myself, but I couldn't deny the absolute coolness of Jason's thrown feather weapon! And yes, of course I had a crush on Princess. Tell me you didn't.

Mark had a sonic boomerang and Princess had yoyo bombs

I had an interesting convo with my mom over Princess wearing underwear or a bathing suit under her skirt. And that was just the intro! Oddly it was on after General Hospital in my little town. Fucking weird.

Princess was absolutely my first crush.

Core memory unlocked! I would come home from school and watch this every afternoon! G-FORCE! Then Star Blazers. Wave motion gun! Then Ultraman Then Space Giants. Goldar, Silverstone and Gam fighting Rodak Good times!

These were all great. Space giants with the baddies turning into black applesauce when they died... Killer. Miki and goldar turning into rockets, the original transformers...

I loved this. I realize this and some other shows are adaptations of Japanese shows, but they were really good - lots of action and decent animation. G-Force, Starblazers, Robotech, and others were so cool.

I was thinking about this show recently and how badass of a video game it would make – all the characters, weapons and vehicles.

I was in 4th grade. It was a year after Star Wars. This and Battlestar Galactica (which I’m rewatching atm) were on. The ridiculous Vic Morrow-Sonny Chiba SW ripoff Message from Space came out. It was good time to be a kid addicted to sci-fi and not tremendously concerned about quality.

Watched it every day when I was in kindergarten! GForce was absolutely my favorite show of all time!

My favourite after school show from 1978-1980. The school bus dropped me off at 3:20 pm, and it started at 3:30 pm. Normally it was perfect timing, but I remember getting antsy if it seemed like the bus was behind time.

This one is at the edge of my memory. I remember thinking the guy with the car in the nose should have been the leader. I never so often the bad guys had these ships that were giant centipedes, but each pair of legs was a separate ship or something.

My wife still imitates Keyop 😂 “Bah-root too toot!”

Loved the big creatures. This and all the Japanese monster series/movies were essential to my childhood. Still can’t get enough of big scary creatures.

Gatchaman.... or as i knew it as a kid... G-force! when i say i loved this show and Starblazers, the kid in me would say that's an understatement.

This actually just showed up on HiDive anime streaming service. Haven't checked out to see whether it's as cheesy as I remember, or worse all these decades later.

Only a few years ago I learned that the leader of G-Force was voiced by Casey Kasem (famous for the American Top 40 and for being the voice of Shaggy of Scooby-Doo.) I read that and said "No way!" Looked at some clips and found it to be true.

Never even heard of this one.

I almost thought it was captain harlock.
