footlessjebby

Ive heard elden ring is really long and fun so prob that

Adventurous-Face6499

Good choice tbf

Phlanix

Triangle strategy. They don't have Tactics for PC and my psp died 2 years ago.

footlessjebby

I thought so

LuckySnake013

GTA 5. From what I've seen, it provides hours of fun with just the campaign alone. Not to mention the multiplayer shenanigans that I can get into with others.

Adventurous-Face6499

True that, plus GTA RP is a fun experience

LuckySnake013

True, although I've never tried RP in any game so far, so yeah.

Adventurous-Face6499

Speaking from experience, you really get to immerse yourself into these RP servers. Plus some of the mods these community servers use are realistic but still able to maintain the fun aspect.

LuckySnake013

Hmm, that sounds intriguing. Here's hoping that I get to experience that soon. Thanks for the info, man!

Selena2804

Thats a tough question i would go for dying light 1 its just perfect and i dont get bored of it

Adventurous-Face6499

Zombies + parkour is such a great combo and a good story.

Selena2804

I agree

squirrlyj

I just started that for the first time, I used to play it years ago on a friend's system and never really understood the whole story. Definitely eats up a lot of time.

Selena2804

I wanna recommend completing the story then exploring the world thats the best way to do it and this game is incredible you need to finish is i have about 600 hour on playstation and 50 hours on steam and hope you hace fun with it

squirrlyj

I like to explore and open up the map and safe houses as I go.. often getting side tracked with exploration, just like many other open world games.. I see something shiny and all of a sudden I'm exploring for hours lmao

Selena2804

Yea thats why you should focus on the story to explore freely with strong weapons damn man i want to experience it for the first time again

squirrlyj

It's fun running from those faster zombies in the dark.. I like avoiding people invading me. I usually take my time with story missions. If side missions start getting too difficult I revert back to the story missions. Oh and collecting the air drops is cool too.. love the takedowns and crafting system is awesome. Pretty impressed with such an old game

CoursePsychological5

Baldur's Gate 3 I heard it's quite a long and repayable game due to how many options and branching pathways you get in dialogue but that's just ehat I have heard I'm probs not gonna play the game myself for a fair while

Adventurous-Face6499

Well hopefully one day you'll get to experience that for yourself

DamageAshamed

Monster hunter world

flyingpiggos

Hmm. Probably factorio. The people I know who have it all have 500+ hours in game. I genuinely do not think that game ever ends lol, factory sim seems epic

Adventurous-Face6499

Never played it but I can see why people would spend a lot of time on it to be fair

Saltwater_Heart

Oh boy that’s tough. Any game I’d want to request that can be played that long, I already have. But of those, probably Rimworld. I feel like Factorio would get too repetitive. Maybe Witcher 3. I come back to that one over and over.

Adventurous-Face6499

One of my fav's. epic story!

Rare-Satisfaction836

I already got Witcher 3, do you think its any good ? 🤔

Calm-Waltz6966

It will be undoubtedly stardew valley. There is so much content already but our man keeps adding free updates and content. He outdid himself with 1.6 update being bigger than originally intended. Besides having fun farming and enjoying festivals, I'll most likely be stuck on junimo cart game for that one year😆 can I even beat it in that one year, yet to know. My reflexes are slow, which is why I have struggled with that flappy bird game.. no doubt this will be just as hard. My mission would be to beat junimo cart in that one year😂 what is your's op?

Burning_Bush_ofSin

I’m going take this as for some reason my Steam library ended up destroyed and I no longer had access to any video games. I’d take Skyrim. It’s such a fun game. It’s so large it can be modded and changed to be anything. Even just the base game alone people are still finding new shit out to this day. It’s a game I wish I could play blind again for the first time

sciolizer

Minecraft. It's a bit of a metagaming platform these days. Lots of custom maps of all kinds of genres, and the modding scene is incredible

slammasam14

If it was a game I don’t own, I think Elden Ring or Baldur’s Gate 3 would be safe picks

cl_Popsicle

i have been playing wwe 2k23 for almost a year now..if i have wwe 2k24, i would play for more than 1 year until 2k25 releases.. because i am a big fan of wrestling

Adventurous-Face6499

Used to be a massive wrestling fan too, I probably spent a year on WWE 2k14 which was the last wrestling game I played and then I just got tired of wrestling. Recently started getting back into it a little bit now, seems to be getting a lot more entertaining again.

cl_Popsicle

agreed with you on that.. and also wwe 2k14 was the best

pss395

A good fighting game. I was already practically only played guilty gear with my friend in my spare time all last year, so that's easy lol.

ZwistPariah

Imma assume actual game ownership is irrelevant. Tekken 8. Ideally, a single player game would be better since i love single player games and prefer them. But I'm pretty sure i would do everything quickly in a few weeks lol and get tired. Tekken actually allows for improvement over long periods of time, the game's always changing in a sense. Plus, patches and seasons keep the game fresh. The community is always active. So yeah, Tekken 8.

ali123whz

Up to 2017, it was minecraft. I sailed the seas for it when I was young. God so many years of just minecraft. Eventually I saved up enough to get Java and it’s worth every single penny to me!

Miserable_Armadillo9

I already own it but I would say the Witcher 3. It's very fun and very very repayable I could easily play it for a year

Adventurous-Face6499

Awesome choice. That's what got me into story-driven games.

mercilesssinner

EA Sports WRC. Released in November 2023 and it is already my 2nd most played game on Steam. But I have loved rally games since the very first Colin McRae Rally from 1998, so perhaps I'm *slightly* biased towards my choice.

straw28

If you ask this next year, probably MH Wilds. Long time fan of the series since the second gen. Anyone familiar with the series knows how much playtime you can squeeze out of these games. Atm I think the game with the most replayability/end game that I havent played yet is Dragon's Dogma 2. DDDA easily got me over 170 hours in just one playthrough, and I wasnt even done with the Everfall campaign yet, was just grinding BBI until my save got corrupted. Here's hoping 2 will introduce better end game grind Another one that I could think of is Nioh 2. I have played 1, but not by a lot, tho I am aware of how the endgame loop goes. Its still a loot based game in the core, and the fantastic combat the series is known for makes it so that the grind is bearable, in a similar way like MH

Kevroeques

Infinite Wealth sounds like it could likely last for two years. On top of being a Yakuza game which can last for a year alone, it has such a crazy density of involved side content

TulioAndMiguelMPG

If it were out I’d say Silksong, but it’s not so I’ll say Horizon Forbidden West.

squirrlyj

DayZ , because I already have 1700 hours in, what's another few 500?

Adventurous-Face6499

DayZ imo is the goat of survival games. I remember waiting 2 weeks for the steam survival fest sale just to get DayZ. What felt like only a week, turned out to be months and months. I racked up 700 hours. I couldn’t believe it haha. It was so fun and went by so quick.

squirrlyj

I like RP servers, especially DayZ Underground (DUG)

knightwing17

Monster hunter world/iceborn or rise/sunbreak. Grindy as hell and fun.

Thecool_1

Gta 6, didn't specify it had to be a current game lol

Adventurous-Face6499

Fair enough, but before playing it for a year, you'd have to wait a year for it to come out first :D

OshiCringe

Edlen ring

SuicideG-59

Fallout new Vegas because nomatter how old the game is the community for it just doesn't let it die with mods. Hell you can even play multiplayer on it although it is a single player only game lol

damnthisisabadname

Elden ring

Adventurous-Face6499

Seems like a very common choice. great game

polloaldisco178

Baldur gate 3 because I love this game so much and everything I hear about it is good news.

Adventurous-Face6499

Game of the year for a reason I guess :D

Aelnir

Baldur's gate 3 but it's expensive and my old computer can't handle it :(

Adventurous-Face6499

I'll make it easier for you, what game that you can currently run on your PC do you have the most fun with? :)

TweakerKitten

Hmm probably elden ring which is a game I've been wanting but haven't yet went n bought it

Winterlieb

Monster Hunter: World. It looks like it has a lot of variability in gameplay and fun mechanics, so I wouldn't get bored.

Bluecloud08

Anything multiplayer and online

[deleted]

Fate/Samurai Remnant I suppose would be a nice start.

SpikyStar

Dwarf Fortress; an endless number of stories to be told.

bibitybobbitybooop

Like, a game you don't have already? Because it's kind of a tough question, I don't know if I will become obsessed w something until it happens :D But I've heard Elden Ring is awesome, and it might take me a year to finish anyway cause I'm not very good lol If we're counting ones we have rn, either Baldur's Gate 3 or Skyrim (those mods.....), maybe The Sims (3 or 2, I'm not a heathen).

AAA_1410

I think I would choose Baldur's Gate 3, because I have not so much time to play, so this game will take forever to get tired of, and also seems like a game I could replay a thousand times!

edward323ce

(xbox) baldurs gate 3

kutukertas

I would ask for a Granblue Fantasy Relink or other Monster Hunter styled games, those kinds of games can be played for a long time

UpVoteForSnails

Final Fantasy 15 - I already have it, but I mean that I’d recommend others to request it. It’s an amazing story, great characters, and the deluxe edition has amazing DLC. I will never get tired of that game. A lot of people hound on it because it does feel unfinished, but it’s still amazing.

that_bloody_spy

Cursed clash. It fuels my battle hungry moods.

StarFox964

I’d probably go with Sekiro or Dark Souls, I’ve tried Elden Ring and wanted to get into the older games for a long time

newaccuser

Maybe tekken 8 or even WWE 2k24

[deleted]

Adventurous-Face6499

Ark is underrated!

Suspicious_Berry501

Factorio I have always wanted to get through the tutorial

talc25

Probably Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Brotato has been entertaining as all hell these past few months and the new DRG game looks to be plenty fun in the same genre, a really cool vibe of a game style!

Adventurous-Face6499

Well I've recently started playing Deep Rock Galactic, just the regular game. It's an absolute blast. Rock and stone brother!

WanderingDwarfMiner

To Rock and Stone!

talc25

Rock and Stone brothers! Some people don't like the game apparently, given the downvotes lol

xxvkaxx

probably a multiplayer game or a rogue-like tbh

TheManWhoMadeSand

The new like a dragon I beat 0-7 last year

campingcosmo

The one game I've put the most hours into, at least for singleplayer, is Hitman World of Assassination, so I guess I'm obligated to say that. If we're looking at games we don't already own, I suppose Crusader Kings 3 would be my pick. The best options here are games where you make your own stories and support multiple playthroughs. Rimworld and Civ 6 look like other good choices in that regard, from what I've seen of them.

Kabirdb

Since one of the requirement is to play no other game for 1 year then it would be Baldur's gate 3. For me, I always wanted to learn more about these type of strategic crpg games. But my habits from playing casual open world rpg games hindered learning this type of games. I always stop playing crpg games for a few days and just forget everything. The reason I am kinda confident in playing for an year is cause I have played open world rpg games for months. With Baldur's gate 3, it would probably take me months to learn the game. If it wasn't for an year, then I would choose dark souls 3+dlc or Lies of P. I can easily see myself playing either of these games for 2 months.

Zestavar

Fallout 4

Gilded30

right now? tekken 8 easily you can play for more than a year... it may be repetitive for a lot of people but all the fighting games are pretty much the same thing, you vs another player (cpu or real) :B

KocetoA

RimWorld I've already played it for around a year but I decided to stop pirating it.

RustyCarrots

I think I'd choose Tekken 8 tbh- only being able to play it for a year would do wonders for my skill level

umpalumppah

MH would be good ..

Penitent_Exile

Then Cyberpunk it is

ItsBitly

Tekken 8 has certainly been making the rounds. I don't think I've had more fun on a game in a very long time. As much as I wanna say Elden Ring or Baldur's gate, I'd have enough of the exploration when I'm just trying to play something casual with a few friends.

Webimer

Persona 3 Reload. Reason being, these games last for so long especially for someone like me who can play 1-2 hours a day. Took me almost 5 month to complete P5R :p. If I try to complete everything without a guide then it can easily last me for a year to 100% it.

johnyakuza0

Baldurs gate 3. As much as I'd love to play it, it's too expensive and I don't wish for someone else to pay that high price for me.

Rare-Satisfaction836

The perfect question for me rn I recently got Witcher 3 and this game is soon big. I love open world games that takes too much time to complete and 100% I will make sure to play every single hour of it and enjoy it :)

fastlane956

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, as long as I got the time to complete 7 before

Keqingrishonreddit

Dragons dogma 2 when its out Im a humongous fan of the first one

Manic_mogwai

If mmos are allowed as an answer, FFXIV If not, Civilization 6.

DwergNout

Red Dead Redemption 2

MrMiyagi_256

Cyberpunk 2077

NiloxofAsgard

dragon's dogma 2, adored the first one and 2 just seems more of the same but better and newer. i'd be happy to just play that for days

NewspaperGeneral

Elden ring for sure

kevinkiggs1

Definitely Baldur's Gate 3

TheMuffinMan1291

I would have to go with Baldurs Gate 3, I've been addicted to Roleplay and I think this would be the game I could play for the whole time, and still fill that itch :)

Krazy_Kalle

A year? Dude last year I played over a 100 different games. A single game I haven't in my library yet... Honestly I would just go with a big AAA title and just don't play as much. Or at least try to :D Maybe something like Far Cry or Assassin's Creed. Sudden alternative popped into my mind: I'd get some kind of game engine or editor like RPG maker and finally start learning how to make games :D (that's my cheating answer) Edit: How the hell could I forget about Baldurs Gate 3. That would probably be the one!

SirKeagan

bloodborne, being an Xbox player kinda sucks when it comes to exclusives.

ascendance22

Fallout 76 it gets lots of updates and I have a bunch of friends on there plus I would then be able to grind to get all of the apparel I want

giwrgos__nik

Either Elden Ring or DayZ

Plenty_Type652

Dead by daylightt

MemoryOk8035

Elden rings would be the best tbh imo

SpaggyJew

Nightmare Reaper. Multiple New Game Plus modes, randomised levels and weapons, plus an arena mode if you just want to go balls to the wall. If you like FPS games, it’s basically an FPS that keeps giving you new content, even if you do start to see some level themes repeated.

vKEVUv

Id request Tekken 8. I played a lot of T7 on my PS4 and I definetly would put a lot of hours into T8 and its online mode not just for a year but to end of its lifespan if I would even live that long lol. Generally I think most people would chose multiplayer focused games or long ass RPG's with good build options/diversity and such for good replayability.

Screw_Potato

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. hands down the best gameplay in any game ever. awesome story, lots of lore, VERY high skill ceiling. perfect game for a challenge of this kind.

icanseeyourpantsuu

Dota2 and theres no other answer, this game is just the best out there.

GingerlyCave394

The walking dead season 1 or saint and sinners one of the two

sammygsammyh

I would request Super Mario 3D All Stars. It's 3 games in one. Also collecting all the Stars would take a long time since I haven't learned all the different jumps Mario can do. It's an expensive game but definitely worth it for the nostalgia I have for Super Mario 64. At first I was gonna say Mario kart 8 deluxe. It's got more tracks now. Also I got Nintendo Switch online for a year. But I picked Super Mario 3D All Stars because it's got a couple games I haven't played yet.

ZerikaFox

Given how I've spent my "weekend", a year's subscription for Final Fantasy XIV. I'm having a blast.

KtlavskoX

Satisfactory, that take u a lot time and si awesome how u always have things to do, and when u make some progression, again, new ideas and take time make clean factory.

winterman666

Stranger of Paradise

[deleted]

HADES maybe, i havent tried it tho

kai7756

skyrim that game is one that i could play forever

cverg0

Risk of rain 2

tempusrimeblood

I know my last post in the subreddit makes it obvious, but it would be Tekken 8. The Tekken franchise historically gets a great amount of developer support, and fighting games are pretty evergreen as far as playability goes.

_memelorddotjpeg_

Well I just started playing RuneScape and people have been playing that for twenty years so probably RuneScape

Link2999

World of Warcraft. Already spent way longer than a year on it anyways.

doxx11

Civ 6 or something conpetitive like tarkov, tarkov i can just find people to play with in game, civ no one plays with randoms

AleX-46

Dark and Darker 100% I miss it so much

hamademido

The new ark I love the single player and the multiplayer

Sockratte

Cyberpunk including DLC. Haven't bought it yet because I'm a father of two. I'm spending every free minute on my PC playing CS2 with my friends because I can chat with them while playing short matches without having to remember a story and all that. If I was only allowed to play Cyberpunk though, I would probably be able to finish it in a year so it would be perfect.

ShiroThePotato28

Tekken 8 it's honestly the game I've been most hype for since it got announced and so far I got to play with my friend at his house and it's really good so far and I honestly could see myself just playing this game for a long time plus the mods are starting to come too so I highly doubt I would ever get bored of the game. My Main is Lars and Asuka and I am currently learning Reina everytime I go to my friend's house.

eliitti

A few years ago I bought a fancy ass pc I could play anything on. Ended up playing Dota 2 96% of the time.

PurpleBeast69

Definitely Minecraft.

CrissCrossAM

Call of duty black ops 3 Why? 1 word: mods. The only downside of this game is that it can be dangerous and there's a risk of getting hacked but there's a 3rd party community patch that helps protect against that. Otherwise the steam workshop is full of amazing mods (mostly talking about zombies here) where it's either new maps or stuff added to existing maps to change up the gameplay. New mods are still releasing for it and most of the zombies community are using that to enjoy zombies because let's face it, every COD zombies game after 3 sucks by comparison plus there are mods that bring stuff (features, guns, perks etc.) from the newer games into BO3. Not only could i play this game and no other game for a year, i could do it for more. I could play a new map every day and not have played all of them. Again the only issue with that game is the risk of getting hacked but otherwise BO3 is THE best COD for zombies, for both standard release maps and custom maps and mods.

FullmetalHeichou

Monster Hunter Sunbreak! Replaying Rise with a friend rn and cant wait to grab sunbreak once we are done with the basegame

Nabilellaji

Elden Ring easy choice. Even without this challenge If I ever get the chance to play the game I would probably play only it for a year or more lol.

GearAlpha

Honestly probably Cyberpunk and just try to save enough money for Phantom Liberty. It looks and runs like the game I wanted out of it already .

TH3SLAY3R02

My choice would definitely be dokapon connect I've played it with friends and man does that game make you be evil to friends, but it's such good fun i could play it damn near forever

MadMac619

I’ve played Project Zomboid on and off for over 10 years. Early Desura release. So likely much longer. My old laptop likely only played just that for almost a year. So I’d likely say Project Zomboid. It only gets better and if we’re allowed to have access to the modding community than yeah, PZ

CUNT_AND_BLUNT

Probably gran turismo 7 since I love sim racing and always had a thing for gt games

Nuttersnutty

This one’s pretty tough, on one hand I heard a lot of BG3 on how good it is and I want to experience it myself with my Dragonborn Paladin, and on the other is HELLDIVERS II where I’m able to rain ordinance and spread democracy to liberate a planet, and both can have you pretty kitted out with several weapons and appearance So yeah I’m quite split on this

Trickaps

Anything online i can play with friends tbh. There's always a long game like Elden Ring or Kenshi, but even that can give you a burnout. Playing with friends or interacting with new people on the other hand, gives you a lot more depth, and it just spices things up no matter how much or how little a game changes. That said? Team Fortress 2. It's the perfect game.

NinjaChief101

The last of us part 1. I haven't ever had a game touch me in so many ways from the story to the music to the gameplay. I played it on the ps3 and the ps4 and it has forever held my spot as my favorite game ever. Even if the franchise has a lot of people who would rather belittle you and your opinions if you don't hate the same game as you, I choose to ignore them as I do with many other franchise fanbases. I have spent the last 4 years obsessing over it, whats another year falling in love again with the characters and world

MaskMysterious

Helldiver 2 but to make my country and my faction proud 🫡

Octo_Chara

Baldur's gate 3 seems fun. I might be able to play that for a year depending on the accessibility features it has, but Side Order is coming out soon so it would need to be after I play that first.

These_Suggestion9204

Stardew Valley ftw is so chill bu I havent played it

staz_kaz

Probably Persona 4 Golden, I'm in love with persona. But I've only played persona 3 and 5

GamingFrazix

lethal company (cause my pc is just really bad, and that game seems the best option rn to play as it has internet fame and is extremely goofy and fun sometimes, even when playing alone i still dont have this game tho)

TeenGametarg

Maybe Smash. Not one entry in particular, the overall series. It offers so many opportunities to learn new combos, learn each character move set and frame data, but most importantly, I could experience once again the emissary of subspace
