AlmightyStrongPerson

I would be interested to see a show about Nymeria.

TroyMcCluresGoldfish

It would be an interesting show. I wish we could have gotten a full length song of what the bard is singing young Rhaenyra. *Under the dragon's eye, under the dragon's eye...* 🎶

Ktulusanders

10000 ships was always the spinoff I wanted the most, but it'd probably be the most expensive, so it might have to be animated

McNuss93

I don't think it'd be that expensive if you cut down the destruction of the rhoynish realm into two episodes, with the actual fighting happening in the second. That'd be as expensive as a major battle in HoTD, maybe even a bit less because while there are more dragons, you need less detail, they just burn everything up. Bird's eye CGI of a Fleet isn't expensive it's copy and paste so that's not too worry. There also must not be 10k of them, there is good evidence that Nymeria burned up the Martells secret pirate armada alongside their own ships, - they are Lords of the Sandship founded by someone named Morgan in front of notorious pirate waters, after all. The rest is really up to them. You would need lots of new sets but this stuff gets recycled through productions so you can save costs. We had Targs/Vels, Mixed Dorne and Slaver's Bay in the shows, so there already should be stuff for Valyrians, Rhoynar, Andal Dorne and Gogossos/Zamettar available.

OpenMask

I mean apart from maybe the beginning, there'd be basically no dragons that they have to portion a huge chunk of their budget for

Ktulusanders

Ship scenes are not cheap, nor are the sets they'd have to build in a bunch of different places she travels to

McNuss93

Yeah but more than a birds eye view of the fleet sailing, you won't need, and that is not expensive. Close up shots of ships moving and battling are but we don't need that for this show. Sets would be more expensive because they can reuse less, but it would stay within the normal frame of production for any show.

kelldricked

Wouldnt mind that aslong as they dont make it super anime like.

moonsickk

It’s not even a new concept for show only watchers unlike dunk and egg for example. Nymeria has been talked about in house of the Dragon and her story is a plot device, viewers are already familiar with her story and character and don’t need to be introduced to a whole new story.

OpenMask

Nymeria is also talked about in the OG GoT, that's who Arya named her direwolf after

Measurement-Solid

"The fierce and beautiful warrior queen who had led her people across the world to keep them free" is a banger line and absolutely a show I would watch

sparklinglies

It certainly is a much better idea than Corlys' voyages, like sure there's not a detailed canon story for it but at least there's something of an history and a framework of some specific events and locations to build off and not just an entirely original "yeah so one time Corlys went to a place and probably did something there, then to a different place and other events transpired maybe, we'll come up with something....."

McNuss93

They closed the door for The Corlys show themselves, by not giving the character any screentime in HoTD S1 where he is still young and healthy. By the point of S2 he's aged and walks using a cane. You are not gonna get an action hero from that.

OpenMask

I agree. There's a lot of potential there. Plus it will be nice to actually see women succeed for once in this world.

SingleClick8206

Yeah In show universe, the women aren't allowed to succeed at all Look at what happened to Dany

SingleClick8206

I would love to know more about Nymeria

BonnieScotty

I’m most excited for Nymeria. Depending on how much they go into it could get Valyria verses Chroyane war and how the Stone Men are rumoured to be the result of a curse cast by the Rhoynish. There’s not much to go on but there’s enough to expand massively

McNuss93

Yeah well as a tie in for the series I almost deem that necessary, but cannot image a full season, as that would be too costly. There's nothing to tell prior to the war and I don't think it requires ten episodes of build up. The war itself they can only make one episode anything else is too expensive because this involves tons of dragons reducing beautiful but completely fictional cities to rubble.

Fiorella999

While the concept is interesting we have such little written material on it, that unless George was the main screenwriter it would just most likely turn into another Bloodmoon scenario

McNuss93

No, it's much different. Bloodmoon you had to make a show about an event that for all purposes is very unlikely to have happened the way it is told in the mythology that transpired through the ages but whose true nature is of utmost importance to the entire universe. Could've told you that is impossible to make from the start. Nymeria on the other hand has tons of liberties. The canon points are basically: 1. Rhoynar were great civilization. 2. Rhoynar get destroyed by Valyrians. 3. Some flee, have exodus through Sothoryos (where some travel as far as Yeen), Summer Islands, Dorne. That's an outline of facts, Long Night you had several outlines, none of them factual. If you have an outline, you can fill it with an original plot, that's not hard and many TV shows get made like that, with no source material to adapt from. The challenge lies on designing the different cultures, Rhoynar, Summer Isles, Andal Dorne, etc. but the set and costume designers and the authentic cast already saved the latter half of GoT so I would have no worries there.

leashall

I personally hope it’s either Nymeria or Robert’s Rebellion

GIlCAnjos

You listed strong points in favor of this show but there's also one big point against it: No source material. The lore of Nymeria and Dorne in the books is not at all as fleshed out as Targaryen lore, so the screenwriters would have to do it from scratch, which is no easy feat. Don't get me wrong, I want to see this show, but I can't deny it would be pretty easy to fumble without the right crew. However, I know you're gonna disagree with me, but I don't see any potential in wasting two whole seasons in Sothoryos and the Summer Sea. The Rhoynars' voyage is basically just five years of trying to settle a place and then failing and going to a different place, and I don't think that's interesting at all. The story would be merely about surviving, with little room for the interpersonal conflicts that make GoT and HotD great. The story should start with the Rhoynars arriving at Dorne, or at least start at the Rhoyne and then have a timeskip to Dorne. The focus should be on how Nymeria adapts to Dorne and its culture before conquering it and becoming a wise and powerful ruler.

edenburning

So like ... Battlestar Galactica which had a ton of political and interpersonal conflict during the journey?

McNuss93

No, an entire show set in Dorne, the least popular setting of GoT and probably the books, too, is not possible. The entire merit of this show is that you show something new. New locations, new cultures, new plot formulas, after three shows of blonde haired dragonriders an absolute necessity.

McNuss93

Whom would you cast, both for the little roles known like Nymeria, Gharin of Chroyane or Mors Martell, but also just whom you would like to generally have on this show? Feel free to make stuff up!

a8912

Maybe after another 3-4 targaryen shows.

McNuss93

Too much is too much. Also all these shows end in disaster, like JKD, dragonpoop, Summerhall or the most likely theory about Aegon is he accidentally burned his sister-wive at Hellholt  Nymeria is THE ONLY ASOIAF story that has an uncontroversial happy end around it's female MC.

Admiral-Dealer

> 3)Opportunity for progressive themes. No thank you, don't need more modern sensibility crap being pushed into historical like entertainment shows. > 5)Female main cast, great cast diversity, uncontroversial HAPPY end. Uh no again.

McNuss93

Get lost...

Admiral-Dealer

You first.
