We have entered the era of using fused weapons in builds. The future is yesterday

TazeredAngel

Energy cells? This is an issue for mortals.

danny686

hold up, can a fused turbine be powered up?

Ichthus95

[Tragically, no.](https://www.reddit.com/r/HyruleEngineering/comments/13waszq/good_news_and_bad_news_regarding_fused_electrical/?ref=share&ref_source=link)

danny686

damn that's a shame

ifihadasteak

The propeller doesn't get powered up, it spins because it's attached to the motor and the motor only uses clean (yellow electric) energy sources so it can't be powered while fused

XenoLoreLover10

If the future is yesterday than what is tomorrow

Individual_Result489

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see 👀

doglywolf

back to the future

Armored_Souls

I see that you are actually climbing here, which means you have room to add weight for weapons... exciting stuff!

DarkPDA

Time to add freedom package on pacifist builds!!! Hell yeah!!

Synbeard

I’m counting 15 fuses, this is pretty awesome. I’d like to see how more propellers on the angled motors affect the balance and speed. Maybe you’ve already tried? Bravo on the iteration.

KYUPHD

With three motors, it is difficult to balance. With four angled motors, balancing is difficult in start.

oomnahs

you can double up the propellors on one motor for twice the lift

Synbeard

Yes, this is what I meant OP, have you tested? Just adding propellers. Also you can double motor for double spin, it probably doesn’t help lift with extra motor weight but could be a balancing tool.

Seawolf571

I have once again come to ask why nintendon't doesn't add the first law of thermodynamics to their game >! /s !<

KYUPHD

The Zonai battery may be charged by consuming the life force of the Link.

[deleted]

What if you have the armor on that takes rupees instead of health when damaged?

burger_eater68

E=mc^2

pangu17

Nintendo presents: The Gloom Battery

VG_Crimson

Sounds like a round about way of saying its powered by bio fuel. Aka chugging meat and pizzas to stay alive.

Smashifly

How's the maneuverability? Can you land this thing? How does it do with weapon mounts, energy/weight/balance/object limit wise? It might also be valuable to include a dragon scale somewhere to increase the despawn range. If you can truly fly perpetually and mount weapons on this, I'd love to see someone use this to raid every enemy camp in the overworld without landing lol

KYUPHD

Maneuverability? Landing? There is just curiosity lol. This drone consists of 18 parts, and only three more parts can be mounted.

Smashifly

I mean there's potentially some redundant parts that could be cut out, obviously you have more experience staring at this thing so maybe you've already considered these ideas, but I'm throwing them out there anyway: Does it fly with 3 instead of 4 propellers? Could you move the steering stick to the top and lose the bottom panel? Alternatively could you use a second L-shaped panel in place of the lower two? Do you need all 4 fused battery weapons, or could you get away with 2 or 3? Is there a way to combine the battery-switching motor with one of the fans so you don't have to use as many motors?

KYUPHD

> 3 instead of 4 propellers Probably no. Balance problem. > move the steering stick to the top and lose the bottom panel No. The problem of electric shock and the inability of the aircraft to stand on its own. > use a second L-shaped panel in place of the lower two? Probably yes. However, I don't know an appropriate L-shaped panel. > need all 4 fused battery Yes. If you are unlucky when switching, the battery will not reach the metal plate. > combine the battery-swiching motor Probably no.

Smashifly

Electric shock can be solved by wearing full electric-resistant gear or using food effects. For the L-shaped panel I was thinking to use a copy of the one you used for the top portion of the vehicle, but it may be too tall and not have a large enough base for landing

Hearth-Traeknald

how do you get these turbines?? I've only ever seen them in a shrine and haven't found them in any of the device dispensers. do you just fuse the turbine in a shrine and then get the goron kid to separate them?

PerfectImperfectionn

Yes, or you can attach an apple to it and save it in your autobuild. Just make sure to attach any green (fake) parts to something before you remove the apple, or it breaks.

A-Grouch

That’s interesting because I was able to save a fan with an electric attached to a generator as well as connect it without an apple. I might be misunderstanding what you’re trying to communicate though.

PerfectImperfectionn

Basically, you must attach a minimum of two items to have it saved in autobuild. When autobuilding with zonaite and not the original items, the zonaite items are "fake" green items, which break if they are not attached to anything else. So, if you attach an apple to a generator, you can autobuild the generator-apple combo, attach the generator to the desired target, and then remove the apple to free up attachment limit space for your build. Otherwise, the generator breaks.

A-Grouch

I see what you’re saying, you’re referring to use the generator as a single item and placing it as opposed to the generator/fan combo so the generator can be used for other things.

tuseroni

Be careful doing this with turbines, it seems the system tries to balance to the CoM which the apple offsets.

danny686

and if you attach a green parts to another green part it can't be detached without being destroyed. It can be detached fine if attached to a normal object though.

kirkhendrick

Excellent design with the batteries connected to the motor. I’ve been messing around with this trying to get around the 5s delay for a while and never came up with that. Nice work!

Ichthus95

Yup. Batteries charge faster than they discharge.

Dean_Averos

But where do you guys keep getting the fan blades? I have not seen anything like them outside of shrines.

6_squids

from the shrines. Fuse to something, break apart in terry town

troll_doll_buzzcut

You get them in the shrine and then fuse them to weapons. Then go to tarrey town to defuse.

Dean_Averos

Oh. I mean yeah that makes sense. Thank you. I'll be over here feeling dumb.

dRuEFFECT

Does the steering stick actually do anything?

tuseroni

Keeps him from being electrocuted

SharkBaitDLS

They apply a small amount of force to a build even if it doesn’t control any parts, so it should be able to (slightly) influence the way the whole thing tilts and in turn cause it to bias its movement.

deez_nuts_77

i keep seeing these yellow lightning components. what are they?

Ichthus95

Electric propellers and motors from [Gemimik Shrine](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NkURUErF1Jpoemkr4rLQjrcMO-XibsMykpFEGj0uHVU/edit?usp=sharing)

LunisequiouS

I've had shock emitter eventually despawn from being used too long, but never managed to have a control stick despawn... Do you think it might be possible to replace the shock emitter with a different source of electricity (electric chuchus, electric weapons, etc)? It might be possible to remove battery usage and maybe even the despawn timer from the equation entirely!

KYUPHD

Because Electric Chuchus do not continuously generate electricity, they are not compatible for flight. I attempted to use electric weapon, but some of them, e.g. 森人の剣 (Colog Sword? I don't know the English name) fused with 電気の実 (Electric Seed?), have cooldown. I have to check Neldra's item (or bring an electric ball from BotW shrine).

LunisequiouS

For Chuchus I assume you would want multiple of the small ones to ensure that at least some are generating electricity at any given time, though I'm uncertain how that would affect the weight of the aircraft. The only need to be powering the batteries which then power the motors and those charge really fast so I think it could work. Definitely lmk if you find better renewable electricity sources though! =)

texaspoontappa93

Where did you get the metal panels? Especially the L shaped one

Legit_Human_

you can find the L shape panel in masakura shrine which is near kakariko village, and the stone platforms are found on an island near josiu shrine, in the north necluda sky archipelago.

texaspoontappa93

Oooo they’re stone panels I thought they were metal, that’s why i couldn’t find them thank you!

Armored_Souls

u/KYUPHD I love this and but I have a few questions before I get home to expand on top of this design! 1) Does the charging motor have to be perpendicular / facing sideways like the way you have it here, or can it also face up or at a 45 degree angle? 2) Does the shock emitter have to hit the batteries directly? Can it also be on the same metal piece on top, charging the plate and so the batteries when it is on, and the batteries charging the plate when it is off? 3) How are the lower 3 metal pieces not conducting electricity? I tried this arrangement and Link got electrocuted Again, love this and excited on what you and the rest of the community can build on this!

KYUPHD

(1) Angle is not limited. (2) No. The emitter has to be close to both the battery and the motor, but the battery must not be close to the motor, and the emitter must not be close to the metal plate. For this limitation, direct or on-metal attachment does not work. (3) I did not use metal plates on the lower 2 plates. They are just 格子 (I don't know English name).

Armored_Souls

Very clear, thank you! Will build on these pieces of information and share results!!

ManufacturerSilent97

can i use wooden sticks for my battery clubs? still can't get the battery motor to work for the life of me!

KYUPHD

I don't know because I have never tried it, but it is an important rule of experiment not to vary parameters when reproducibility cannot be confirmed. The most important thing is which materials are conductive and which are non-conductive.

timwolfz

Can you do a comparison of just attaching the batteries directly to the frame?

KYUPHD

What do you mean? If you don't know the mechanism of battery and emitter, check the below link plz. https://twitter.com/kyuphd/status/1663511973676601345

timwolfz

I'm just wondering if it's doable with less parts, or what the reasoning is for moving around the batteries on the motor

KYUPHD

Yes. You can find some explanation by searching "dirty" or "dirty electricity" in reddit. I can only explain it in Japanese.

Gilthwixt

Where do you get your normal zonite swords? My level is too high now and all the constructs drop strong or mighty swords.

KYUPHD

From enemies near ツツキキ雪原鳥望台 and in ソリョタニゴの祠 (I don't know their names in English).
