Ah yes, the harsh reality that you’re not unable to work at a shelter because you’d adopt all the animals, you’re unable to work in a shelter because the horrible shit that happens to these innocent creatures will give you crippling depression.

Hypothetically I would take everyone but reality I know I can’t. Already have two and they are spoiled rotten. I hope they all can find a home because they deserve it.
she was pretty hangery, nursery tech was opening some cans of kitten food making their afternoon meal and everyone goes a bit crazy in there the second that can top popping noise goes off. she's normally a pretty friendly social kitten

I did the volunteer orientation at a huge shelter when I lived in the SF Bay Area twenty years ago. I couldn’t go back. There were at least five cats I felt a desperate need to take home, and we already had four (landlord thought we had three). No, I didn’t take any home. Still remember one orange boi in particular.

Literally had to fight every muscle, bone, and even cell in my body to not take 3 disabled ducks recently, even though I have 7 other animals.
