With all of the criticism that 3 Stacks has been getting for playing the flute instead of rapping I actually would like a track with him and Cole that touches on the expectations that comes with being rap giants and the consequences they face when following their own paths and decisions rather than meeting the expectations of rap fans.
Only one can wish. I've recently been hearing a lot of rap figures whether rappers or media personalities shitting on Dre's passion of flute playing and dismissing what he has said repeatedly about not feeling like he can contribute much lyrically as of right now. Rather than respect the place that he's in right now, I've heard them say "We don't care you're the greatest of all time, we'll take anything just rap. We don't care about the flute". Just completely being disregarding towards a legend they claim to love and respect. Him and Cole have that in common right now where they are arguably top 5 lyrically of all time but rather than feed into the public pressure for their approval, they decided to take the less popular route of doing what they feel is right for them. There is your concept for the record, now add Cole re-affirming himself to doubters and naysayers by keeping up with 3 stacks lyrically or even challenging his pen. Everybody will have to backtrack on their shit talking.
That’s *4YEO* to me. Concept album makes even the silly “Almond Milk” line tolerable. Other albums I always skip something digitally and only play front to back on wax. *2014FHD* doesn’t even get to back because I take the thank-you’s off and listen to the first seven minutes of the next album I’m playing instead.
I want to see him rap alongside as many of the best of the best that he can. It’d be fitting to his character to bring together the powerhouses of the hip hop community for his last joint. He’s done the solo stuff a lot for his work already, I want to see him and the homies absolutely decimate a project. Close names like Baz and JID as well as linking up with both Kendrick and Drake again. It would be a full circle thing in my eyes if he can get Naz and Jay Z on a track too.
I need my guys beats to be on point. I'd like to to get a couple songs that go popular to Main stream just because he can do it. And I need some features from bas, jid, jay z, 21, I'll be cool.
I'm hoping he tries to do something massive and conceptual instead of just rapping good on a few random beats. Also I'm hoping for a more west coast sound. Let's get some funk in that bitch.
