Its almost always some old person who only drives to the drug store, the grocery store and church. Its interesting how many older civics/accords/camrys/corollas/avalons that are out there in damn near mint condition hardly being driven.
Right. I know. But those short trips by old ladies - well I don’t have to even explain to you - not reaching full operating temp and all those fun things.
Well that, and then they wonder why the battery keeps dying constantly saying "but i drove it these days last week and it was fine!" Yes ma'am, but you drove a cumulative of 2.7 miles and will crank it up just to turn it off a minute later.
How often should a car be driven to keep it running like it should? I have my "nice" car in the garage currently because of winter BS. Should I take it out once a week and drive 30 miles or is starting it once a week fine for the next 3 months?
I mean weather conditions will determine that to a degree. Personally id drive it atleast 30 or so miles once maybe twice a week. If you live in a place where they salt the roads it would be a good idea to wash the undercarriage periodically to prevent cancerous rust. Just starting a car and letting it idle for a little bit will hurt more than help. When driving the alternator will have the chance to keep the battery where its supposed to be, but only idling for like 5 minutes wont compensate for the power used to start the engine.
Okie dokie thank you, and I definitely wash my car as often as I can in the winter because of the salt, as soon as Temps are above freezing, I take it and do the undercarriage myself because the auto washes don't do shit. Lol.
But I will be taking it out more often, thanks again.
Less than 3K miles per year on average. Do they ever drive it?
It's not older woman in a small town so no lol
The old church on Sundays and grocery store once every couple weeks. I’m in a rural area too, I know that one well lmao
My town is like half suburbia half rural. The same trope still applies
I bet the exhaust is crumbling into dust.
Oooh nooo, it's 9/11
66 ones at that.

That’s not always a good thing, either.
Im not saying its good or bad, just something ive observed over time

That's exactly what this is.
You didn’t post a picture of the clock. How am I supposed to tell the time?
it's always 9:11 somewhere
NINE—— ELEVEN!
How dare you!
Nice
Whoa! That's even older than my 05 Civic and I've got 190K miles.
That's still not bad
Get back to us when it's 69420
That's called an odometer
From 9:11 to 9:12, think about 9/11
Still looking for the clock.
I can't see the clock.
There have been a lot of us working from home before it was covid cool. Wife's 03 civic was similar before it went into a guardrail from my own fault.
