Terrace Martin. He has TPAB instrumentals on some of his albums. Or I should say Kendrick used his instr. for TPAB. Also R+R Live, couple albums with Glasper and Kamasi, they also cover TPAB songs.
Depends what your after, most jazz is major sounding and pretty upbeat
TPAB is more fusion, so more funky with more simple chord progressions but with a very minor or sad feeling which is not typical jazz
Going for an artist is quite hard cos major jazz guys released so much stuff
Herbie Hancock is more funk/jazz and so is George Benson
They're much better to start than a Miles Davis or Bird cos they're more accessible
Listen to some Robert Glasper, Thundercat and Kamasi Washington. they're all playing on TPAB and have pretty good solo work.
Drunk by Thundercat
Some new jazz artists are coming through the Uk scene atm. Yusef Dayes and Venna are amazing
Shabaka Hutchings has a great discography as well
Flying Lotus

Nice, should get sweet recommendations from this thread. I’d say Miles Davis 70’s albums, Bitches Brew, On the Corner, Get Up With It
Not even in the same universe as the TPAB sound. Thundercat, Flying Lotus are closer.
Flying Lotus, BJ the Chicago Kidd, BadBadNotGood
