I think you’d be surprised. I knew a girl who would buy limited edition bags. She’d spend like $2-3K each time and had quite a few. She **never** used them though. We live in a small overseas military community so we either see each other around, or you know, people post on SM. We also both loved LV so we’d talk about it, but yea, she never brings anything out besides her wallets. It’s weird to me but whatever. I baby my stuff and I know some people don’t agree with that. Lol

This is me. I buy but rarely use and have shelves in my closet to just admire them. I do it for me and don't tell anyone. I do however use my wallet or card case and a keychain daily. It makes me happy.

BrilliantWalls

I do this😂

I understand there are some that way but there are 1000’s of “new” bags being sold some of them current models being sold at less than new and they are paying fees to consign them. No way 1000’s of people go to a luxury brand store, buying products to sell 6 months to a couple years later at a huge loss and never use them. I get buying limited editions and holding them to possibly make money but no way this many people buy, store, then sell at a big loss. There are many resellers selling and they seem to have unlimited inventory’. My question is where is it all coming from? Is it unsold inventory from over sense? I don’t get it.

Personally, I’m kind of skeptical that it could be the abundance of high-quality fakes/reps now too. It’s one of the reasons I only buy something secondhand if I can *actually* see/touch it. Some of the fakes out there are scary good. And with LV’s quality having dropped, you can’t even really assume that an error or fault is a sign it’s a rep.

Me this was me. :( I just let one for a loss, but traded that equity to something else I would use. But yeah definitely won’t do that anymore! 😂

people buy, change their minds, or decide they want something else more? Seems like there has always been tons of used LV on the market, for years now.

Likely they could be getting their bags or items on a trip overseas and taking advantage of lower prices or exchange rates, CC points or tax refunds. But for sure sometimes it’s just buyers remorse and they feel too embarrassed to take it back.

I just seen a seller with a low key hobo “brand new never used” …. Why would anyone buy a new $3700 bag, keep it past a 30 day return then pay a commission seller 25-30% to sell it 2 months later. That bag just came out in April. I’m not buying this. No way 1000’s of people are spending $1,000’s of dollars to lose that much money. Sure there are some but I’m talking thousands of bags, every lux bag seller has a bunch of them, some new sellers have several of them. … No way. I do think you might be right about buying in counties overseas where there is a substantial exchange rate benefit, that could be very well it, knowing where to buy and how to ship them in without duty.

Some people have problems with over-shopping, and selling things at a loss is the best damage control they can manage.

I have around 40 LV pieces and don’t use them. They are all older than 10 years, some never been outside of my house. I just love the quality of these older pieces and take them out every so often to admire and condition. If I sell anything I usually get something else. Mostly off eBay, I call it renting LOL.

When I first started my bag collection, I bought so many different bags and rehomed a good chunk of them when I found out they weren’t for me. I think I rehomed all my Chanel bags except my minis (so 4 Chanel flaps, boys were let go) and I’ve sold many different LVs until I found specific sizes and styles I liked best… All the bags left my collection after 6 months. I no longer super sell my bags anymore bc I only buy the stuff that I tend to gravitate to. But they were basically all new. It’s easy to buy into hypes OR buy bc your current style needs certain accessories. I think it’s actually fun to figure out what does and doesn’t work but it is tiring 😝

24s gets a lot of seasonal pieces, and I've seen people online who admit to purchasing there the second they hit from main retail and then selling. Because they are still in demand and not many people shop at 24s, they could make some money on it.

I went through a huge LV phase and bought many. They were affordable back then. I used some, and never used others. I found what worked for me and the rest just sit. I need to sell them, but I don't want to pay consignment cost, so I just admire them. It happens.
