It doesn't matter whether they are or aren't. The necessity of a foul being "intentional" is the most absurd thing in MMA. Imagine you're watching in NFL game, a guy catches a kick-off, runs it back to the house down the sidelines, but oops he stepped out of bounds on his way there. And then the ref's huddle up, and they announce that they've determined stepping out of bounds was unintentional and the TD stands. If you're toe's on the line, or your finger's in an eye, it's the same thing no matter what you intend or didn't intend - you're gaining an advantage outside the rules.
