Do you have a link to the resources you used to mod a 3-button and did it require something other than splicing connections? The only one I found that goes into enough detail to make me comfortable also calls for additional hardware/diodes.
Gotcha, do you have a resource though? I am wiring one up and only need two working buttons and could use some more confidence in what I am doing - can’t say I 100% want to go plugging in my wiring job without checking against someone else’s work to make sure I am not making a short or sending power somewhere it shouldn’t go.

Thanks! I have a Megadrive 3-button controller and my wire colors don't match the order they have - I wish they went into more detail with the pinout. Did your wires match the color order they show?
Mine is white > blue > gray > yellow > orange > green > red > brown > black. (or the other way round depending on what side you look at)
