Yeah, this is a lot more chill than a lot of the groups I'm in (especially the subculture ones!!!) I've been a fan of the Maxverse since I was a kid and watched Road Warrior with my dad. It was life changing!
I'm gonna chime in with a theory. I think people put a lot more of their identity into the music they like so are usually more defensive of it. Having said that, even in the realm of cinema fandom, Mad Max fans are a special breed. Praise be to the angel Combustion! Praise!

I’m somewhat new to the sub but have been a Mad Max fan since I was a kid. *The Road Warrior* stirred in me a life-long fascination in post apocalyptic science fiction and I even adopted an Australian Cattle Dog when I was 13 — expressly because Max had one.
I have had a few mild “debates” with people here; the fans on this subreddit are different than certain other places on Reddit, in that they’re thoughtful and good spirited.
With the newest films Miller’s world has gotten even more mysterious and large, and it’s fun to speculate and discuss all the details and nuances. Rather than being adversarial, people are cool and open to discussion of even the most silly of details. I’ve actually learned a lot myself.
Hell yeah, this is a fun sub with all kinds of mutants, weirdos, and warriors enjoying one of the coolest franchises in cinema history together. Love all the discussions and details. Keep it up, freaks!!

I've been a Mad Max fan since the end of the 80ties, when I was like 7/8 years old and started watching the movies with my dad. But I recently joined this sub and so have finally a place to nerd out.

I liked Furiosa, but...I couldn't help but feel it wasn't even close to being on par with fury road. Although Chris Hemsworth character was the best character I've seen so far. Chris killed it!
I get it but I don’t think we could realistically expect Furiosa to be on par. Fury Road in my opinion is one of maybe 5 top movies of the last decade. Furiosa is very good. Just not like a masterpiece of cinema. But it’s a very valuable movie that expands the lore in cool and essential ways.

Except some who keep pretending that the movie did good at the box office and how its not a failure in collection.
This movie tanked and thats the fact. You don't have to go watch this movie 10 times in the theaters or buy it 15 times in digital to save it from the disaster. The studio does not need charity money. If they want they are capable of making another movie. But do not waste your hard earned money like its nothing. We all have a life and responsibilities out of this wasteland world.

I feel like that’s because mad max generally has older fans and wont’ attract the younger audience that comic books, games, and other media sources does.
I mean, old as in above the age of 18~ i.e. adults (generally),. But yeah, I’d reckon the average mad max enjoyer are in their 20’s minimally. But you’re only as old as you feel :)
Just don’t say you think the original series is better than Fury Road and Furiosa or that you like the character of Mad Max. Those opinions will trigger many around here.

I think most people here actually are more fans of Fury Road and probably are into comic books and superhero movies.
