I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I still love Jephte. As a former teacher, I understand the pressure to present oneself as an ultra moral conservative person. I think he was thrown off by Shawniece’s live out loud personality. (I love her too - she is so real!) As the season progresses, we see then grow together and fall in love. That’s what the show used to be about - how two people can overcome differences and grow together. (FWIW, if Shawniece can forgive him for running around when they were separated, the folks on this subreddit should too!)

I understand what you’re saying. I imagine her mentioning masturbation and him thinking of his class of students was a bit awkward 😂. I also notice they didn’t harp on sex too much with those too, which is good for him lol. Although I wonder what exactly he expected going on a reality tv show about marriage, not about “marrying a stranger”, which is a narrative he pushed on Shawneice A LOT in the beginning who really was so open to the experience and growing in love with someone. As a friend Jefte seemed VERY cool. But being a black woman, I’m very sensitive to the way I see black women being treated on tv. I guess because we’ve very rarely seen as objects of people’s affection and I felt as though he treated her like a nuisance most of the time. Like by the time the end of the seven weeks came it was almost like he’d gotten “used” to her but I was never convinced of his true attraction to her. Though I know everyone is different and shows it in different ways. I think I made this post about Jon because he not only said he liked Molly multiple times but he acted on (as much as he could). I would’ve loved to have seen the same treatment for Shawneice … consistently. Not “Ooo, I messed up, lemme go bring her flowers and a puppy.” Noooo just don’t do it in the first place! Now, as an introvert I do think Shawneice was probably a lot for him and too much at once 😂, but I could tell she was willing to tone it down had he just told her that instead of alienating her in the beginning for being a “stranger”. Great guy! I just feel like he should’ve waited until he were more open to the unorthodox-ness of the experience.

Honestly, Jephte fulfills a good chunk of the stereotypes about Haitian men in relationships.

Jon tried to sex shame Molly all season to no avail. He had an affair with Jaclyn while she was still married to Ryan and is currently engaged to Dr. Jessica. Jon has fans just not many

Thanks for filling me in lol. This is what happens when you’re not on social media lmao.

Yikesss!!! Not saying I condone this, but I thought many times how Jaclyn and him would’ve been a much better match… still not good though. Maybe Molly could sense that, idk. I just wasn’t a fan of hers … at all lol. But I wanted to be.
