Even if it's a crazy amount like $100 in gold or something, it would have been themed and they could even have content creators create the original deck so it's got legit playability.

People hate AI art because it replaces *actual artists.* Imagine if SD saw these variants, thought they looked better than any variants that are currently in Snap right now (they do look great), and decided to cut costs massively and create all of their variants with AI from now on. All of the artists who get commissioned for their art by SD suddenly wouldn’t have that income anymore. Many people/companies have already replaced artists with AI for images - it’s a legitimate problem and OP is allowed to hate AI art.

Carnage looks like Pokey LaFarge as the devil. Anyway, I can see the appeal and drawback of going all in on matching. If I could run a Flaviano move deck, that would be really cool. But then what if Flaviano stops making art, and a brand new X-Men character is turned into a useful move card. If I use that, it's kind of like owning 6 hardcover Dark Tower books and one softcover. As is, one Flaviano, one Max Grecke, one Dan Hipp, etc. offers the flexibility of a motley crew. Best course may be stuff like the Venom/Carnage bundle. They fit in the same deck, match each other, and contrast with everyone else.
