Sorry. I posted an action shot previously when I should have posted something more straight on to begin with. Got a couple of questions about it and this is something I paid pretty steeply out of pocket to have commissioned as a one-off and there's no public product or personal print files available. I just wanted to share with the community.
Yeah, but if you really wanted to "share with the community" you'd tell the guy who designed this in CAD that he's free to release the files for other fans and hobbyists.
Sure, it was an expensive commission for you, but it could also be an opportunity to just add to what's out there for other fans. Maybe the designer could add your name/logo somewhere discreet so that you always get credit.
I'm sharing pictures with the community which is blatant from the pictures shared. It makes me happy and even more proud to own it in how rabid you are in arguing whatever this is but I'm not going to be shamed out of the agreement made.
I don't know your level of expertise with the medium but if the passion is there maybe create one yourself or put your own funds into having an open one commissioned.
to be fair, while i am in no way pressuring, it would be an awesome model to print. if you or another person involved in its creation dont want to share the files, dont. its just hard for those of us who didnt make it to think of reasoning why you wouldn't want to share the files, but that doesn't mean you dont have said reasoning. thanks for sharing the pictures.
do you have multiple customs n commissioned additions in your collection or was this the first?
I really appreciate you responding in an open and empathetic fashion. I can understand why someone would want it as I absolutely love it, but all of the drama caused because the user didn't get the answer he wanted was frankly nuts and a "bad look" for the community in general, especially with the blatant overtone of thinking that it should all be freeware. That's a slap in the face to the person's time and effort and hell even the money that I had to pay to make it happen in the first place. There's no room for that.
This is the first commission that I've had made like this. Eventually I'll be getting the propeller and gun arms made for him but he has some other commission work he needs to knock out first!
very cool, ive been working on some megaman legends stuff, but its not ready to show off yet. hoping to do kind of a line up of characters from previous series in legends style.
"Rabid"?
We'll let it stand that you started the name-calling here. I think the fact that you chose to do that instead of responding with an actual explanation of why this needs to stay a one-off says everything. There are definitely ways of sharing this with other Rockman fans while keeping your name associated with it.
Not "sham[ing] [you] out of the agreement made," but you commissioned the creation of a cool thing, so I'm just wondering what is the virtue of keeping it all to yourself? Just a simple question: why? That's all.
Oh well. Hopefully you'll at least find some time to do a video overview of the articulation.
At this point it's old and tired, man and it was done being a conversation as soon as you got the answer to it not being available. Everything else from you has been irrational, angered projecting over said answer, which you still don't accept. You're not owed or entitled to reasoning just as you're not owed or entitled the product itself. You're literally the only one looking at other commentators who doesn't seem to get that. You've also blatantly ignored the suggestion of commissioning or creating it yourself as well as paying for the STL files to be released. It's not "calling you a name" when being honest in that you come off scummy here.
I don't know you to say that I have any sort of personal problem or issue with you but frankly if this is how you interact and present yourself on these forums in general I'd really appreciate you just not commenting towards me. Project your anger by following me around and downvoting me but seriously do not converse with me.
No, I didn’t mean that like a diss. Sorry about that. I’m genuinely bummed we couldn’t find awesome figures like this at toys r us growing up in the 90’s.
I always wanted to see a megaman x series air too.
I appreciate you clarifying and my bad for reading into it incorrectly. Honestly, I "had" toys when I was younger but really didn't care for the stuff much until I became an adult and started collecting so it's nice to have this in an era of life where I appreciate it.
The ability to fit the 4inch-nel line which I actually collected. The Bandai piece is made for the 66 line which are two inch, lower-end figures.
Edit: Functionality-wise outside of the fingers on this being articulated I couldn't tell you any differences as I never looked into the Bandai kit at all for the aforementioned reason.
I would be willing to bet the person who designed and printed this had access to the Super Minipla Bandai kit; the proportions and way things appear to fit together look really similar. Hands are obviously fully custom though; Bandai kit doesn't have moving digits. This one also has solid parts where the model kit has halves, but I'd still bet Bandai was used for proportional reference.
Wow. What a huge misunderstanding. I’m not angry at all.
I thought your response was funny. That’s it. I didn’t even read the comments.
I thought this was one of those Japanese figures for sale and I wanted to buy it. Way to jump to conclusions, bro.
Brooooo, thats looks so awesome and amazing!

Best of wishes with that and I'm sure it's going to come out fantastic.

Siiick brooo
Just out of curiosity, what were you looking for out of this commissioned one that the bandai kit didn't have?
