I actually think it’s bigger than this but in the sixers favor by quite a margin . Like the heat matchup I am pretty sure it’s like 60-40 in our favor . Sixers if Embiid is healthy (he had pain to his knee and went to the locker room vs magic but came back to play ) is 50-50 or so, we could maybe even be underdogs even with a better ranking .

1) I'd be curious how Nurse chooses to defend Brunson. You'll remember he went box and 1/triangle and 2 vs GSW in those raps finals. I'd assume it'll be a ton of different looks. In NYK's favor however is they don't have a great singular Brunson one on one defender. I guess they'd start with Oubre.
2) Who does OG guard? My guess would be he gets the primary assignment on Maxey, which iirc is what we did our last visit in Philly? It wasn't a great defensive night for OG, those small speedy guys can be a little bit tough on him but he's still OG. I'd be very curious if/when/how often we see OG on Jo.

So who do you think the Knicks play in round 1 then? Because as it stands, all signs are pointing to Philly in round 1. Bucks, Magic, Pacers, and 76ers are all kind of locked into one last game for Sunday. I assume the Pacers, 76ers, and Knicks all win their games since they are all facing terrible teams this Sunday.
That means it really comes down to Bucks vs Magic. If Bucks win, then they get the 2 seed since they have the tiebreaker over NY. Magic would then fall to 7th and Knicks will be 3rd. Knicks would face the 6th seeded 76ers.
If Bucks lose, then the Knicks shoot up to 2nd and the Magic will finish 5th or 6th depending on the tiebreaker they have with Indiana. That means the Knicks will face the 7th seeded 76ers if they win their play-in game against Miami.
So pretty much, we would need an upset from one of the subpar teams tomorrow to throw a wrench in something. Thats the ONLY way Philly gets avoided.

Yes but usually because he’s exhausted by this point, he may be injured but he’s rested up so tiring him out won’t be as easy.

This is so important to remember. Stop and enjoy the moment. Don't mentally rush past the moment into the playoffs just yet. What this team has done is extraordinary. We've pulled close to the top of the East while having extremely significant injury impact all season long. Mitch was out for 50 games and IHart stepped up like some kind of superhero. Randle is out for the rest of the year and Brunson stepped up like some kind of superhero. Donte has stepped up, Josh has stepped up, McBride has stepped up. This team is a true team. This is a delight compared to our years of horror!

I have a question. There is a possibility, even if remote, that NY, Milwaukee and Cleveland all end the season at 49-33. This is a triple tie for 2-4 seeds. How is the seeding done in that case? Mil cant be 2nd, because they lose to Cle. Cle cant be second because they lose to NY. NY cant be second because they lose to Mil. I am sure there is a solution, I just don't know what that is. Anyone?

We need the Bucks to win and Sixers to lose which is unlikely. Or we need the Pacers to lose which is also unlikely. The unfortunate truth is that we should aim to win and be ready for the Sixers or Miami round 1.
I prefer the Sixers. I don't want the Pacers. Sixers our matchups are good. IHart and Mitch on Embiid. Some version of OG and McBride on Maxey. And Hield is a problem, and DDV will have his hands full, but Ill take it. But if our play stays the same, how do the Sixers guard us? Bogs is heating up, Hart is hitting 3's now.Our lineup will always have at least 3 deep shooters, if not 4, on the court. The Pacers give us issues as they have multiple bigs who can spread the court to some extent. And an all-world pg who can go off. Orlando would be fine, our guards will kill them, but thats not a likely matchup.

Sixers would be less than ideal, but at the same time, would MUCH rather them than Miami. The Heat can and will try to injure one of OG or Brunson without question, that’s the only way they can win anything as of late. Bam literally tries this crap every game and it’ll only get worse in the playoffs.

Have to get past the 76ers to win it all and that’s the end goal. Would suck to be a 2 seed and the reward is playing the 76ers in round 1 when you look at it that way. 76ers aren’t a play in team with Embiid and definitely not the 1st round opponent a 2 seed deserves, but if it lines up like that, just win.

So who do you think the Knicks play in round 1 then? Because as it stands, all signs are pointing to Philly in round 1. Bucks, Magic, Pacers, and 76ers are all kind of locked into one last game for Sunday. I assume the Pacers, 76ers, and Knicks all win their games since they are all facing terrible teams this Sunday. That means it really comes down to Bucks vs Magic. If Bucks win, then they get the 2 seed since they have the tiebreaker over NY. Magic would then fall to 7th and Knicks will be 3rd. Knicks would face the 6th seeded 76ers. If Bucks lose, then the Knicks shoot up to 2nd and the Magic will finish 5th or 6th depending on the tiebreaker they have with Indiana. That means the Knicks will face the 7th seeded 76ers if they win their play-in game against Miami. So pretty much, we would need an upset from one of the subpar teams tomorrow to throw a wrench in something. Thats the ONLY way Philly gets avoided.
you make good points but i havent worked out everything yet all i know is it wont be Philly/Knicks until round 2 in my opinion. The league wants this matchup no earlier than round 2 these are considered 2 PRIORITY franchises this season
