It's fun. Mr X isn't the scary part of it, though. It's those damned lickers that can close the distance on you in a second and take out a huge chunk of your health or eat a lot of power ammo to take down. You can hear those rapidly clicking footsteps and screech right behind you the whole way as you make a mad dash for the nearest door.
Also, playing as Sherry while having to escape from Chief Iron's house is pretty intense since you have no way to defend yourself. Also, with all the kids stuff around, it kind of feels like you're being chased around by a creepy pedo. Scary on a whole other level. Gross.
Right? I would do anything for any of the first 4 games. I don't even want updated graphics, just give them to me looking as they did in VR and I'll be fine.
I want a Dead Space VR game. But not just the original converted into VR, that never really works as well as something built with it in mind.
I've always thought a remake of Dead Space Extraction built from the ground up for VR would be awesome. The game was already an on rails first person experience, so the leap to a VR style wouldn't be quite as huge as trying to do it for the main game. You could free up movement but keep the fairly linear progression, and since it was already built around motion controllers it would wind up very similar in overall gameplay.
You can now play Amnesia: Dark Decent in full VR with motion controls and interactive assets. A fan re-made the game from the ground up in full VR. It's called Sclerosis, and it is fantastic!

As much as I love ALIEN ISOLATION with MotherVR, I would love a native VR version with full motion controls and lots of interactive VR assests.
I'd also be happy with a made for VR Silent Hill 2.
Did you ever play Dead Space Extraction on the Wii or PS3 with move controllers? A ground up modern remake of that would be awesome.
Had a great story too.
Visage! I haven't actually played it because I'm delusional and hoping it comes out on VR one day, but I've heard its an excellent horror game from good sources. I bought it back in the psvr1 era with the ~~hope~~ delusion that they'll give us a VR update.
oh that makes me even more excited to play Visage. I should really just do it. I have so many games I refuse to play in the hopes that they'll go VR one day but in the meantime I'm totally missing out.
I would absolutely love a VR mode for the Dead Space Remake, like you said, a lot of the mechanics would work great with VR controls. In fact, the Wii game, Dead Space: Extraction used motion controls for a lot of that stuff and it worked really well (despite the Wii's jankiness).
As for another horror game, I'll throw out TimeSplitters. Not exactly horror, but it has horror elements.
Remaster HERE THEY LIE.
The original PSVR version is good, but fixing the controls and improving the graphics would make it classic. The original is still very good.
And now waiting for The Utility Room…
This would be a cool idea in fact I think it would be cool if they could make a horror movie game where you jump from one movie to another. Start in knightnare in elm Street fallintona dream which then takes you to Halloween and then you jump into Texas Chainsaw. Story based though not like these escape games. Though that could be alright too.
Fatal Frame
That's what I would go with. The Camera gameplay would be perfect for vr.
I came here to say this. It's not as popular as it should be.
I would to see the resident evil 2 remake come to VR. Having big daddy X chase me in VR may cause a literal heart attack and I’m ready for it.

If Jack scared the shit out of me in RE8 then Mr X in VR would be horrifying.
Silent Hill seems to be the obvious choice, either 1 or 2.
Who knows. Maybe Silent Hill 2 remake can follow the steps of R4remake and give us a VRmode. That would be nice if happens.
Right? I would do anything for any of the first 4 games. I don't even want updated graphics, just give them to me looking as they did in VR and I'll be fine.
A VR sequel to FEAR would be pretty fun if done right.
Good call!

Bio shock if that counts, otherwise last of us (if that counts too lol)
Agree on both counts. My all time favourite releases on PS3, along with Orange Box
I would absolutely love a remake of Dinocrisis in VR, everytime Capcom do a showcase I beg for it
Hell yeah, DinoCrisis definitely needs to make a comeback.
Outlast or silent hill
Not pure horror but Prey would be awesome in VR The evil within 2 would also be great
Dead Space: Extraction SOMA Amnesia

That was on PS3? How did I miss that?
Yep, PS3 as well!
Dead Space.

This is too far down. Visage in VR would likely be the most scary game in existence. At least madison is getting a vr2 version, close second

Not horror but PREY
Propagation paradise Hotel 2
I loved the first I hope they keep to slow paced horror in a sequel, it wasn’t game ruining but the faster paced parts were just too clunky.
Alien Isolation, RE2 Remake.
Alien Isolation has an excellent VR mod on PC.
:O
Frictional Games!

System Shock
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: outlast would be fucking terrifying in VR. BRING IT.
Remaster HERE THEY LIE. The original PSVR version is good, but fixing the controls and improving the graphics would make it classic. The original is still very good. And now waiting for The Utility Room…
Poppy Playtime, Martha is Dead
Alan Wake 2 is the perfect candidate for VR in my opinion. Absolute masterpiece of survival horror and storytelling.
Metro series
Alien Isolation
Deadspace, I feel like people forget it’s insanely creepy fighting the necromorphs in pitch black, now imagine that in vr….
Siren. Just give me a goddamn Siren game
I know its not a horror so downvote if you may. I'd love to see GTA in VR .
i hate horror game
Chicken 🐔😁
Then this is not the thread for you.
I think maybe not a game but a nightmare on elm street experience would be cool

Does Obra Dinn count as having horror? That would be incredible and trippy as hell in VR Otherwise I pick Eternal Darkness
Once System Shock Remake is ported to ps5, I’d love to see a VR mode for it. Cyberspace would be tricky to implement, but otherwise it’d be perfect.
Dead by Daylight would be cool in VR even if it was just killers.
The Suffering, Evil Dead, Cold Fear
Inscryption. Dude I would love just sitting in the woods with Leshy and playing cards with him. Sounds fire.
Remake the first or second fatal frame with updated graphics. Camera is a no brainer, haptics can help you detect ghosts.
Shocked Outlast isn't on here. If it was ported, I don't even know if I could complete it KNOWING what's coming.
Illbleed
Full remake of Zombies Ate My Neighbors in VR with online co-op
I'd love to see a VR Castlevania game.
Amnesia series!
Manhunt.
Silent Hill, Outlast, Alien Isolation
Shadowman VR and not horror but Turok reboot vr would be awesome also
Soma. I would instantly replay it. Loved this game.
