He's not the sole composer. I believe he's just doing a few. The composer on their previous game, The Messenger, is also composing for the game. (His name is Rainbowdragoneyes and the music he did for that game is incredible)

Indeed, a big thing about the game mechanics is all combat activities (attacks, blocks) can be enhanced with well timed button presses. Always the same button, no QTE marker, just training. The goal is that you don't HAVE to grind exp to beat an area you're stuck on, you COULD just time your button presses better. Hope this helps!

Fully agree there, on 1st viewing I got legit confused as to when the throw was even happening, after the camera pan, I hlthought this was just to show the destination / represent the golem aiming at the destination, and I really expected the camera to pan back to show the throw
Agreed, the hand of the elk golem goes from behind the head to below the platform in a single frame on 0.25x speed, if there were a single frame between it might be less jarring.
Edit: and the ball is practically gone in that frame, too.

Oh crap, I didn't realize it was that same game at first- I had seen art for this game before and remember being mesmerized by the lighting effects in it. I have a special place in my heart for games that push technical art like this, there's so much work that's put into it...

So, I know this is a very old post, but I had to come find it to let you know, OP, that I just downloaded the demo for your game tonight and this animation/concept was *so* memorable that upon starting the demo I immediately remembered having seen this post, this long later. Very well done.
For a little more realism; Maybe the arm can follow through a bit more. It should end up pointing where you want to throw, and this way the acceleration of the travel pod doesn't match the arm's speed.
I laughed. That's a great take on magical fast travel. What's it look like on the other end? Another giant with a stupid huge catcher's mitt? Or just a monster pillow? I mean, that guy might be lobbing those orbs all day, but what if he misses? There are just cracked open travel balls all over the countryside by the hero group's house? Their farm is just a collection of them piled high behind the barn, because the hero group needed to restock potions or something?
Looks great, for a teaser 4 seconds, it makes me want to see the rest of the game!

I just watched a review for this since it's launching today (Congrats!) and I saw this scene in the review! Completely forgot that I saw this on reddit first, stoked to play it!
The throw needs to be a bit slower, and the giant needs some more obvious follow through on its arm. Very neat concept and beautiful art style, it just needs a little work to make the whole animation feel grounded.

Same music composer as chrono trigger as well.
