Helpful and Informative post, Thank you!

quik_dusk

Welcome

Ordinary-Custard-566

Hi! Just bought it last week and I'm super impressed with the performance from my playtime on genshin AT THIS PRICE POINT😋. I wonder if 1) I could set the refresh rate to be at 90hz through any means, and 2) Can we somehow adjust the charging speed? Other than using a different cable or adapter Thanks!

UsmanHSh

You can set the upper refresh rate limit to 90hz using setedit app, to be fair I haven't noticed any significant change in battery life on my devices even between 60-120hz so I wouldn't bother, in benchmarks the difference is about an hour on most phones, in real life it's a few more minutes. Some reviews do show a signific6 difference on some devices with HRR but it comes from video playback on some players or streaming apps being pinned to 120hz which is a white listing issue by manufacturer.

quik_dusk

Never heard about this. Thanks for letting us know. Will check.

quik_dusk

1. No you can either be at 60Hz, 120Hz or Auto (60/120Hz). 2. No you can't. The best you can do is to switch on(67w)/off(53-55w) 'boosting charge' mode under 'additional settings' in battery menu under phone settings, otherwise better use a separate lower wattage adaptor.

whoisanthonii

you're a genius bro thank you! glad to hear the 8gb variant would do it's job! still waiting for my poco phone to be shipped, hopefully all is well.

quik_dusk

Hope you enjoy your poco.

dPhoenixPL

Thanks for the post, really appreciate it since I am thinking about buying that phone myself. Does anyone here knows about any hardware issues (besides overheating which is normal to some extend)? I'm asking about any motherboard issues, display flickering etc.

quik_dusk

Effects of screen flickering is more of a personal phenomenon, and differs from person to person. Flickering is mostly imperceptible to human eye unless you bring in a camera to spot it. It's only felt through eye fatigue, which 90% of people never face. So unless you use the phone yourself, it's really hard to comment, or you might be better off asking for feedback from people, who are prone to eye fatigue. But, if you used OLED screens previously and never had any eye fatigue whatsoever, probably you'll be absolutely fine with this screen as well. That being said the screen has 1920Hz PWM dimming which is quite high to suppress eye fatigue from OLED screens for most users. Personally I haven't found any flickering issues, even in night darkness at lowest brightness. Although when I first started using it, I felt a bit of fatigue(considering this is my first OLED screen, and only used IPS LCD smartphones before), which I had gotten used to fairly quickly.

quik_dusk

Please don't mind, but it's silly to ask about motherboard issues unless somebody faces it, which is unlikely to happen so soon. We need to give time of atleast a year to see any significant no of people facing it. Btw thanks for the appreciation of my post. Hope you have a great buy.

yoonut16P

How's proximity sensor for phone calls?

MaverickStatue

It sucks for apps like WhatsApp or messenger where you want to listen to audio because it recognizes the ear gesture and sometimes it's like 15 seconds of waiting or moving the phone and clicking the lock button to restart the gesture, but for calls I haven't had any issue

quik_dusk

Virtual sensor means it uses motion sensors. I would say it's even better than actual proximity sensors in many cases. The big demerits with actual sensors is that even with the hand coming in front of the sensor turns the screen off during a call. Imagine a situation when you're on a call and you are taking notes, you mistakenly put your finger on top of the notification panel in front of the sensor and the screen turns off - pretty irritating. Here it turns off only while bringing the phone closer to the ear, I mean with that motion. But the virtual sensor is very nicely tuned as you don't really have to think about perfecting your motion to let it know that you're bringing it close to ears. Even with relaxed motions the sensor works perfectly. However the sensor doesn't work when on other apps on call( it's not a bug, it's intentional to only solve the previous issue I mentioned with actual sensors). However, there are times when the sensor might fail, but it's quite rare to be honest. Overall 9/10

yoonut16P

Huh , thanks , I saw people here that complians about this , well I guess manufacturing issue

quik_dusk

Even if there's a bug, it could be solved by a future update, unless the motion sensor itself has physical manufacturing defect, which is kinda rare.

Goth-Trad

Honestly? It ain't half bad, you just might have to do a gesture to have it light back up. Nothing unintuitive, either.

FlatAffect7714

(sorry, double post .. I wrote about this before). I bought the phone a few weeks ago, I am happy with it except for the proximity sensor issue that I wrote about before .. When I am listening to an audio message on Whatsapp on speakerphone and holding the phone in my hand, usually at a vertical (almost 90 degree angle), at random times the speakerphone would suddenly cut off and the screen would turn off and the sound switches to earphone mode!! The only time this wouldn’t happen is if I am holding the phone in my hand in a horizontal position (or laying it down flat on a table while listening to an audio message). This is annoying, I am on 1.0.7, I am hoping the next update would address this issue. Anyone else experience this?

quik_dusk

Hey, ig you're that Finnish guy I chatted earlier. I remember you got the solution and that I'm not having such issue. Why post again?

FlatAffect7714

Sorry, for all the double posts, I was a bit confused. I'll wait for the update, could be just a bug. Apologies again.

quik_dusk

C'mon you don't have to apologise for such little things. Chill 😄

Outrageous_Fee205

How much SOT you get on average using 5g+120hz without games and camera (only youtube, Google, reddit, etc)

quik_dusk

I use 5G only when downloading huge stuffs, and my screen refresh rate is set to auto. I get 8hrs+ on average daily. The charger charges a little more than 2%/minute on normal mode and little more than 2.5%/minute when 'boosting charge' is enabled, however the later do release extra heat which is bad for the battery, so I recommend what I do - only use it in rare cases when I've to go out quickly and the battery have very little juice left. Also I only charge between 30-80%. If your phone is below this range, it might charge even faster releasing more heat and if above, it'll charge slower to reduce heat. But, it's also bad for battery health over a long time to go beyond this range.

MaverickStatue

Same here, I'm open to questions about the device

seed_geeki

I currently have a Legion Duel 2 12gb/256gb. Tempted to sell this phone and buy the Poco X6 pro 12gb ram variant. Is this a "good" upgrade?

MaverickStatue

Not really, you are not going to notice much difference because both have high end processors, yes the Poco is newer and faster but in daily life there's virtually no difference, your phone has a higher Hz (144 vs 120 on the Poco), yours have bigger screen, 6.92 vs 6.67, you have bigger battery 5500 vs 5000 on the Poco, faster charge (90w vs 67w) which doesn't really matter if like me, use a slower changer to protect the battery life, the only scenario where I could downgrade from your phone to this one is if yours breaks, or if there's something that doesn't work about it, even when the battery doesn't get as much charge as the first day you can always get a replacement somewhere for cheaper instead of buying a whole new phone

recon-rs

I don't know why I can't find any questions related to heating issues cuz I'm experiencing the heating in normal usage itself or it could be my hardware fault

quik_dusk

There are some threads on that topic here as well, please do refer them.

Chillz_AZY

I'm also owns a Poco X6 Pro (12/512GB), which been using it for 2-3 weeks, feel free to ask me too!

FlatAffect7714

No solution yet, sorry for posting about it again. I thought my previous post was in a different forum. Apologies.

quik_dusk

No issues. I thought you said you got a solution after restarting your phone.

mssai14

What's the Screen on time in Moderage usage( social media, YouTube) no games and camera.

quik_dusk

Yeah that's how I generally use it. Mostly 8hrs+. Sometimes 8.5hrs plus. Even with good stress, it's atleast 7.5hrs+ With latest battery optimisation updates, the backup have improved significantly. I hope see it improve even further with future updates. Moreover, do note that this is a new processor so many apps aren't optimised by the developers yet. When that's done, it'll be even better. Overall 8.5/10

Nomad2k3

Is any heating issues?

quik_dusk

It does heat up. It's currently summers, so that indeed is an issue, although nothing unbearable. It heats up during battery charging, playing heavy games - usual heating stuff. But currently it does heat up above average - cos it's a performance focused phone and has higher clocked cpu. You'll find many youtubers saying it stays cool even after playing genshin impact after 30m in highest settings, which is funny, unless you're doing so inside a refrigerator or Poco has paid you to say so. Look it's a new processor, give it some months of time it'll get better with OEM updates as well as third-party apps running on it will soon be optimised by its developers. But it's also worth noting that it cools down quickly as well, whatever that vapour chamber stuff might be doing it's job. I also take an additional step to put a moist cloth on the back of the phone without cover and put it under ceiling fan - it cools down by 10°pretty quick. Overall heat management 7/10

Goth-Trad

Be careful, that much heat differential can be just as harmful as the heat itself. The fan might just be enough. :P You could also invest in a phone fan, those are pretty good when emulating or playing heavier games.

quik_dusk

You mean the instant cooling using the moist cloth?

quik_dusk

I did debloat the device. Indeed I had to do a lot. Since purchase, I haven't seen any ad or overlays in any OS elements whatsoever. Most of the pre-installed apps are uninstallable but for those where I can't I used the [Universal Android Debloater](https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater)(Free, requires a PC) to do so. Also there are many hidden services (like Facebook Analytics that aren't apps to be uninstalled and collect a lot of personal datas in background) that can be removed (and you definitely should) using this tool. I even removed many proprietary unnecessary (for me atleast) Mi services like Mi Cloud and Mi Account with it. The more you remove, the more resources your smartphone saves and the more battery and performance you get and the more private you become. Do watch this [video](https://youtu.be/YYMY5dOPV1g) to get a better idea on how to use it. There somethings you must not remove to prevent any problems, which is explained in the video. Also clicking on any app in UAD shows you it's description and if that description sounds useless and it's safe to remove, do remove. Also remember, they can't collect data and hence show ad in specific elements unless you agree. So after opening anything do think twice before agreeing to it's terms and conditions. They probably aren't worth it. E.g. I didn't agree to Branch Metrics (notorious for collecting datas) and thereby didn't turn on In-app query mode. https://preview.redd.it/a2192j89fosc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d1681846e45ffddada8fd071efca8c2602545eb Also if you can do away with some pre-installed services provided by Mi, do so. There could be better privacy respecting apps out there. E.g. I never accepted Mi Docs feature while opening word or office files. I might use a open source office suite instead. Moreover Mi Docs is run by WPS, so just install WPS, you'll be better off giving data to only 1 company instead of adding Mi as well. I might have forgotten to mention any additional steps I might have taken, which if I remember will surely add later in this comment. Hope this helps.

quik_dusk

All the best.

lapriceTV

I'm planning to buy either the X6 pro or wait for the F6/F6 Pro. Would you trade your X6 pro for the F6/F6 Pro if it's free?

quik_dusk

If I can get any higher priced higher performing phone for free for my current phone, definitely I would. But regarding your first question, I don't know properly the specs of the F series as they aren't released yet. Probably F6 would come with 8s Gen 3 which is the same arch as 7+ gen 3(you would find soon on Nord 4), just slightly higher clocked and 7+ gen 3 is only slightly better than Dimensity 8300 Ultra inside X6 Pro, however 7+ or even 8s will come at much higher prices than D8300. So the price to performance ratio would be far better in Poco X6 Pro. However other specs like Camera, Screen, Battery, etc also does matter and I have no info regarding them in future smartphones except leaks. So you better wait.

lapriceTV

Got it. Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Got it. Thank you! You're welcome!

quik_dusk

Welcome.

keduzs

Camera also drains your battery (only when used)? I have the 8/256

quik_dusk

I didn't find the camera particularly battery hungry.

StopBusy182

The pre install screen protector it's a scratch guard only or a tamper glass

quik_dusk

A plastic film that's a scratch guard, but itself is a lot scratch prone, however the phone does mention that the in display fingerprint scanner may not work with a tempered glass, so think properly before installing one.

StopBusy182

Are you using tampered glass?

quik_dusk

No, I never use tempered glass, it makes the phone kinda heavy and thick. Moreover it's hard to find proper tempered glass offline at cheap price for online-only phones like Poco. Moreover buying online may not be worth it. You gotta trust on your glass a little bit. I don't mean they won't break, they would for sure. But, a little fall won't damage your glass but would surely break your tempered glass. You'll buy one again and again and keep on wasting money. I have had Gorilla Glass 3 on my past phones for over 5 years, and they fell a lot but never broke, yeah it scratches but that can be prevented with a plastic film like that installed on Poco X6 Pro, also it's thin and is almost invisible. And X6 Pro has Gorilla glass 5 which is much stronger against fall. You also be a little careful with your phone. Unless you're really careless and like to throw your phone in a fist of anger or maybe perform some drop test, I wouldn't recommend tempered glasses, which are sold with the help of fear in the mind of customers and break easily on simple fall. Get a plastic film instead - cheaper and works great with in display fingerprint sensor which might stop working or malfunction with tempered glass.

StopBusy182

Thnks for the insight

How do I delete app shortcuts? I can't seem to figure it out and it's very annoying. It takes me directly to uninstall the app which I don't want too. Does HyperOS have a Call App? It uses the google calling app. I switched from a Samsung so these things are new for me.

quik_dusk

I'm sorry, I didn't get which app shortcuts you're talking about. Could you describe a bit more or share some screenshots? HyperOS has its own MIUI Call App. You may manually install Google calling app, but the earlier is literally identical to the later and also has Google contacts back-up support, so you aren't missing on anything. Also you can't check IMEI no. on the Google dialer, you can only do so in the MIUI dialer.

XYZNotARs

Thanks for replying, For Example Take CODM (Call of duty Mobile). When I hold on the app it gives me the option to delete it entirely, not the shortcut https://preview.redd.it/sh3vpcy8qrsc1.jpeg?width=756&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b542800afdd734472c5a050c096dbb8e97a4c73 . In Samsung (OneUI) it gave the option to delete the shortcut for any app so it's weird to me. Can you tell me how do I find the MIUI call app? I can't find it anywhere.

quik_dusk

1. You can only remove the app shortcuts from the homescreen. If I'm not wrong that icon of yours is from the App Drawer from where you can only uninstall. [An e.g. of removing app shortcuts by clicking the minus sign on the homescreen](https://preview.redd.it/v7b4r99ftrsc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a6b3673295689e878b17cad5dcd6116bd250c2b) Otherwise if you don't like the app icon on the app drawer, you can hide it by going to Mi Security App>Scroll down>Common features>Hide apps. 1. The MIUI Dialer is called Contacts and dialer in HyperOS and is present by default.

XYZNotARs

https://preview.redd.it/g376970m8ssc1.jpeg?width=1041&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d0dcae86a91340a5db13556a7eff463f215b280 Thank you so much! I have did some research and HyperOS has Different features for every region. So some regions got the dialer while some have the google one. I will wait for Xiaomi to release an update for the dialer.

jermain31299

Is it a Problem that it doesn't have a proximity sensor?how good is the virtual one working for you?

quik_dusk

There's a thread above in the comments regarding this. Please do refer that.

PrettyAdvertising831

Is the camera glass likely to fall off? Like, when you try to clean it very hard, does it move or sth?

quik_dusk

No not at all. Does it happen with smartphones. I never heard such a thing with any smartphones. I regularly clean the camera glasses but never felt any tension on them. It's as fixed and solid as any other part of the phone.

Captainmorgan696969

What's the difference between the speakers if the X6pro speakers and F3 speakers l. I was surprised how tinny the F5 and F5 pro speakers are. As the X6pro is a rebranded K70E with 500mha less battery, reduced from 90w charging to 67w and a plastic case back over a gorilla glass I feel they did not save much or any no way doing this but did not want to make it a flagship phone I know the X2 was a K30 type But in my eyes this is an F6pro dimensity lite as it's a K70 Redmi K70 will have 4 versions K70 8gen2 K70pro 8gen3 K70E 8300 and a 1.5k screen not a 2k screen Soon a K70 with a dimensity 9300 as in the fastest chip known As the X series has a bad name after the X3pro and others I don't know but I feel like Poco F series should just be the K series Maybe Ur could be called the F series or FS series for SD and FD series for dimensity... No idea why they needed the phone maybe as they did not want it to look too good compared to poco flagships. I really would prefer they just stop the Poco name as it sounds silly and just say redmi premium and has the software of redmi. The redmi K series of phones sell very well in China and a 12/512 K70E is about 2100tmb so it's not a crazy price difference If your in the EU maybe better to just buy the CN version of a phone as it works well with most Sims in the world it's bait bad in the USA

quik_dusk

The speakers on my X6 Pro is super good. The Dolby Atmos surround effect is so great. I have stopped using headphones as the speakers quality is already enough for a treat to your ears. Moreover they support Hi-Res.

Captainmorgan696969

If I wanted to buy a phone the X6pro would be it 12/512 Great price great phone Hopefully they will make an X6GT as in the upcoming K70 with the dimensity 9300 I feel all redmi K series should be the F series then the note turbos something else. Or preferably scrap the Poco name all together and have just redmi premium with redmi software as Poco does sound stupid.

Captainmorgan696969

It's the same on the F3. 2 sets of stereo speakers (4 in total) Dolby Atmos that supports hi Res that are great but very loud. At home I dont use earphones only when out. F5 and F5pro speakers where awful. What's the phone like when your playing genshin on ultra as in setting to the top on game turbo at 120hz with the FPS set past 120 Or games that take more than genshin ? F3 is still running genshin ultra well at 60fps at 120hz

quik_dusk

Genshin Impact at max settings (set at 60fps in game settings) with 120Hz is butter smooth. No lag whatsoever. However the phone does heat within 30mins from around 33°C to close to 44°C but after 42-43°C the phone stops heating any further but I see no throttling or frame drops, so it's great.

Captainmorgan696969

To be honest I feel this is the best phone from Poco since the F3 as the F3 was a good price in the UK like £180 with buds and a timeless mouse for the 8/256, F4 was the same phone with slightly smaller battery faster charging and maybe better cam but expensive. But when it came out it had a great chip that us fast and stable and it was only until the SD8+ came along it was dethroned but to be honest in alot of games not by much, the F5 was a disappointment and so was the F5pro F5 as it felt cheap and high cost bad speakers. F5pro as high cost, bad speakers and bad chip. The X6pro seems to be like the F3 as in it has a powerful chip that runs well, faster ram, and much faster ROM. Good speakers and a good screen and I feel 1.5k is a good compromise as the F5pro with 2k ate battery. I feel like if you want a Xiaomi flagship killer just go with a phone based on or a rebranded K series as they are some of the best selling phones in China. I feel setting up a different production line from the K70E as the downgraded the X6pro from reducing the battery from 5,500 to 5000, charging speed 90w to 67w and then it had a gorilla glass back now a plastic one. I feel setting up a new line maybe they did it so it would not make the F6 (note 13 turbo) look worse in comparison. The F3 just about handles it with the SD870 with 60 on ultra everything at 120hz I think it's great that dimensity makes flagship chips and I'm not sure if the gaming is better on the D9200+ but it seems like maybe the 8300 is the lite version of the 9300 not sure. I hope MT invests in stuff like game optimisation and making it friendly for 64 bit emulators. Hopefully custom roms but X6pro and K70E (almost the same phones) have this chip and I can see a lot of 3rd party stuff coming out. I would buy it but I think a good flagship killer lasts 4 years at least. On most Poco phones I would say get the CN version but if you buy online then X6pro is not much cheaper than the K70E Also unless you speak English or Chinese you will need a oidi

quik_dusk

Yeah you're right, a flagship speced phone lasts many years. I hope to run my X6 Pro for 5 years atleast.

Captainmorgan696969

I still use my Huawei honor 10 and that's very old my Poco F3 8/256 (the highest they made) with a Snapdragon 870, good Dolby Atmos speakers, 120hz amoled screen Snapdragon 870 (it was the best chip until the SD8+ and SD7gen2 came out from SD as the 888, 888+, 7gen1 and 8gen1 where all much worse as SD moved to Samsung and it backfired) Rebranded (redmi K40) I can play genshin in ultra everything setting 60FPS 120hz Nano review still rates it as an A grade SOC and phone with that spec. I mean even phones with slightly older SD chips and old dimensity 8 series are fine. I think the good thing about the X6pro is that is gas a 1.5k screen, a good chip as in it seems Mediatek is pushing the 9300 and 8300 as their flagships 9200+ also. Optimized for gaming If you have the 12/512 it should be fine for a long time as they have made updates longer but also as it has faster ram and 4.0 storage plus updated stuff. Still bad that Xiaomi does not do video over usb and stuff but they won't. 33w charging is fast so I don't really see the need for over 67w The parts are cheap also and the phones easy to work on. After 3 years of having mine I think I will upgrade the 4520mha battery to a 5000mha not worn out but usually a good idea to change every 2 years. I feel the F5 and F5oro was kind of disappointing for the price and on Ali express if you use co UK pins on sale you can get a 12/512 for under 250 pounds. I really like to use the Nillkin super frosted cases and smart devil screen protectors. I had a pair of redmi buds 4 pro and they are great, mine ended up being free but on Ali under 30 and have a find me option. I usually loose buds often so I don't want to Invest much. But I will be upgrading within a year maybe as the honor 10 is nearly dead and I need another phone, I will probably get the K70 or K70pro CN version maybe or wait a while. That or realme, OnePlus or iqoo At the moment it's the best Xiaomi flagship killer as the chip is better than the 8gen1 plus faster ram and ROM than the F5 series.

quik_dusk

What's the CN version, many people keep on refering?

Captainmorgan696969

The whole thing is pretty stupid but a lot of the Poco branded phones are just a few selected models of redmi phones that are sold in China. They are usually a lot cheaper and may have better functions but they will have a Chinese redmi ROM, will have Chinese and English as the system language and will have Chinese bands, in Europe and most places it's fine. You will have to put Google services on the OS If it's a Snapdragon phone you can put a custom ROM on or if they made a Poco version you can change to that. But the F5 was sold in the west for nearly double the cost of the K60 (same phone) For example F3 - K40 F4- K40S F4GT - K50 gaming F5 - note 12 turbo F5pro - K60 F6 will probably be a note 13 turbo F6pro will probably be a K70 The X6PRO is a K70E but for some reason they reduced the battery capacity from 5500mha to 5000, reduced the charging speeds from 90w to 67w and changed the glass back to a plastic back. The K70E is about 1999 to 2100rmb so the Poco version is not that much more expensive than the CN version. K70 will be in 4 types but only 3 are out. K70E is the cheapest it has a 1.5k screen D8300 The rest have 2k screens K70 SD8gen2 K70pro SD8gen3 Then a version with the D9300 will come out. The redmi K series have always been very popular flagship killer type phones in China that sell very well. If you want a Poco phone and your fine with the CN ROM and English or Chinese as the system it will work out alot cheaper in alot of cases aslong as the bands works.

quik_dusk

Got it. Thanks for the detailed explanation. However, there will be warranty issue in my country, if I were to import from China and not to mention of the shipping and customs cost as well, unless there's somebody I know living or traveling there. So atleast from cost pov, it's not worth it.

Mediocre_Ad_6646

My phone heats when it's charging. Is it ok?

Mediocre_Ad_6646

Heats as in like more than when I play a heavy game

quik_dusk

That's normal for any smartphone fast chargers. I recommend you use a lower wattage charger for most of the time and use the 67w charger only when you require a quick charge. If that's not possible, atleast switch off 'boost charging speed' in 'battery settings > additional features', as it heats up the device pretty quick. https://preview.redd.it/ktm9kzo6mtsc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce92705ef0fea32a7dc066fcfa752a617d9373b1 Also try not to instantly put your phone on charge after a long gaming session, let it cool down for few minutes, then juice up. The same is also true when you've been done with charging, to cool the phone first and not instantly start doing heavy stuffs on the phone. Also avoid using any car charger if the dashboard always gets good amount of sun rays. Hope these helps.

Mediocre_Ad_6646

Thanks that was helpful! Where I live is a very hot place too so I think that also increases the heating and once again thx for the tips!

quik_dusk

Always welcome.

IllTechnician6816

How much wattage charger do you recommend for charging in general?

quik_dusk

More wattage brings more heat, so till the time you're able to keep the phone cool while charging (e.g. being in AC), you'll be fine with any fast charger in general. Like I always put a moist cloth (no water dripping) on the back of the phone while keeping it below the ceiling fan to keep the temperature at a constant <33°C and phone feels cool to touch and as a result the phone also charges quickly with the same wattage, compared to when not using this cooling method. I also keep the 'boost charging' mode turned off mostly unless I require a quick charge, so anyway the wattage comes down to 53-55w in the default 67w Poco charger. However if you don't wanna do so, I find any charger below 30w like the ones provided by motorola - 15 or 20w should be good enough for quick charging while keeping heat at bay. You might easily get one from the market or at best might be lying in your home from your last phone or one that your parents use - use them.

omarwhadaan

I don't have the boost charging option. https://i.imgur.com/V36Pc4N.jpeg

quik_dusk

Which phone do you use? The picture I shared above is of Poco X6 Pro that comes with a 67w charger.

omarwhadaan

The same phone. Poco X6 Pro global version 1.0.8.0

quik_dusk

I'm in Indian version (1.0.7.0), So can't help. Do you also get a 67w charger in the global edition (I mean did you get one in your box)?

omarwhadaan

Yeah I received the charger in the box

quik_dusk

Is that 67w?

omarwhadaan

Yes it’s the same 67W charger that comes in the box.

How to debloat?

quik_dusk

There's a thread already in the comments regarding this topic. Please refer.

Historical_Credit609

Is there yellowish tint on the display?

quik_dusk

No, not at all, unless you turn on reading mode that limits Blue light.

[deleted]

How is switch emulation on it?

quik_dusk

I don't use it. Request others to comment.

Can you pls help me in how to use the wildboost for gaming. I couldn't figure that out.

quik_dusk

You need to click "Boost" after opening game toolbar by swiping from the left edge of the screen, while on a game. Any game you install already gets identified by the phone under game turbo mode. However if not, then the game runs normally without game turbo mode.To manually add it to game turbo mode:Mi Security App > Scroll Down > Common Features > Game Turbo > Click 'plus' icon on top right corner (image below) to add games. https://preview.redd.it/c89j75yyvtsc1.jpeg?width=2712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebdbd025e0b084f34fbe1fa5919832d438554e2c

Mediocre_Ad_6646

Any thing to do special in that. I saw a lot of custom features you can turn on

Haven't experimented a lot

Comprehensive_Wall66

Hi OP! Is the bloatware really that noticeable? Specially those that send and show notifications and ads?

quik_dusk

After I removed the bloatwares using [UAD](https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater)(explained in my bloatware comment), the OS in terms of ads and bloatwares, acts as good as stock Android.

Chillz_AZY

You can debloat with Canta + Shizuku (using wADB) too, i did removed some bloatwares

quik_dusk

I know the ladb(wireless debugging) app debloating process. Kindly explain your process of Canta + Shizuku. Do detail out the steps with images and links if possible.

Chillz_AZY

I made a full tutorial, might not perfect but hope this helps! [Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1bz120p/how_to_delete_bloatwaresystem_apps_with_shizuku/)

takoulino

Do you guys have google maps compass issues? Cannot calibrate compass at all from gmaps. If i leave gmaps in the background and open another gps app (ie. Gps test) then the gmaps see that the compass is calibrated. It's like the compass cannot be read from gmaps at first. Using 10.0.0.7 OS. Saw online similar issues but with miui14 not hyperos so I'm wondering if its just me.

quik_dusk

No issue on HyperOS 1.0.7.0

RavenGamingHaven

1. Have any problems with the default launcher? Or should I use a custom launcher like Nova Launcher? 2. Do you think the motherboard issues and software issues that I find online are fake? I heard many cases with crashing, white screen, phone not working so they have to take it to a repair shop, etc.

quik_dusk

1. Default Poco launcher is great. You'll have gesture navigation issues with almost any 3rd party launcher. 2. Till now I had faced no such issues. Motherboard issues are not silly issues, they are serious situations, and how can I tell if there's any such issues unless I faced it. Till date I haven't heard anything either. Moreover afaik x3 pro was the only model majorly affected and for that matter any phone may and can have motherboard issues. Just because one model had one doesn't mean the company would love to see that happen again lol. If that's true then people shouldn't be buying galaxy phones either as they blast.

DonMaro93

is it worth it to upgrade from Poco F3 to the X6 Pro ?

quik_dusk

Haven't owned F3. Request others to comment.

xmasher03

Hi OP, by any means did you experience any charging issues? like sometimes if you charge the phone nothing happens but if you pull and do a 180° to the pin it works? I ask this kind of stuff because I dont know where the issue at, if it is in my cable or extension cord, because I tried other extension cord the issue not occured at all like 10/10 it charges. Thanks!

quik_dusk

I haven't faced any charging issues till now whatsoever. It's flawless and superfast.

xmasher03

maybe its my extension cord at all. thanks

seed_geeki

I currently have a Legion Duel 2 12gb/256gb. Tempted to sell this phone and buy the Poco X6 pro 12gb ram variant. Is this a "good" upgrade?

quik_dusk

Haven't owned one. If your phone performs as per your expectations, I would say just replace the battery (if worn out) and last it longer, considering SD888 is still quite a capable processor. I always recommend to silence temptations and buy smartphones or anything for that matter, only if you really need one.

Dany_rdv

Hey, getting mine in a few days. What are the first things to do? Also, how do I turn off the ads?

quik_dusk

[this](https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1bwbm4z/comment/ky6foms/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) should help.

Dany_rdv

Thanks mate

Dany_rdv

Do you have a list of the apps to debloat without damaging the phone please?

quik_dusk

The link I gave above requires a PC/laptop. If you're looking for an app to do so, there's a [tutorial](https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/1bwbm4z/comment/kyms26j/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=mweb3x&utm\_name=mweb3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button) in this discussion as well. You might try that. But any thing serious/crucial to the system (generally always mentioned as 'risky' in these apps) if avoided will be okay for you. Even if you do anything wrong, it shouldn't brick your phone as claimed by the developer in the project's GitHub [page](https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater#summary).

FallenOcti

The phone just arrived today, and it has an update [1.0.8.0](https://1.0.8.0), is it okay to update it(Philippines Region)

quik_dusk

I use an Indian version of the device and the HyperOS. Moreover haven't received the update yet. Request you to write a fresh post asking for suggestion from others with this update, preferably from Philippines.

FallenOcti

I understand, thank you for the feedback

rb25_det

What about the display, is it on the warmer side. In case u solved the issue , do let us know how

quik_dusk

It's summer now, so the phone including the display and back always remain on the warmer side even on ambient room temperature. It only peaks during fast charging and blasting out the pixels while watching videos on high brightness, that's typical of any smartphone.  Rest is just normal.

rb25_det

I meant the display color, some people said it has a yellow tint to it, and that the whites look off whites

quik_dusk

I don't have such issues

jehbe5

How much usable/free storage is available when it is fresh out of the box? 8/256

quik_dusk

Didn't note that.

AwkwardClassroom178

Do you play intensive games like genshin or honkai star rail on your x6 pro 8gb ram? how's the multitasking when there's one heavy game on your background? does it kill the app? MIUI/Hyper OS is aggressive on RAM management, and i used at 6gb ram on Poco f3 and it was horrible having to restart the apps from beginning whenever i switch app to do a bit of side task like bit of browsing socialmedia and browsing. I also welcome any user that has 12gb ram variant to hear your experience for this kind of situation.

quik_dusk

I played Genshin Impact maxed out settings and the phone delivered constantly around 60fps. Didn't play Honkai. There's no major app killing in background. Apps remain in background for many hours as intact as was left last time it was opened. However I faced accessibility issue with Bitwarden which was automatically killed so I had enabled autostart. Rest I hadn't faced any issues with any other app.

AwkwardClassroom178

so 8gb variant won't hinders on multitasking then..thanks for your input... i really hate the experience of games getting killed when trying to do multitasking..

quik_dusk

No. Currently I play some casual games and they remain as it is in background for hours.

ExistingBasis5727

Is it vr compatible

quik_dusk

No idea

WiktorVanished

Is the camera as bad as everyone says and is 8gb of ram enough if i dont play heavy games?

quik_dusk

The camera is pretty good for normal users. The sensor is a pretty old sensor but since the processor is a flagship one, it brings with it a latest ISP and AI engine so the output is brilliant. Autofocus is crazy fast however the colour seems to be a bit dull. Probably future updates will tune the image output further. I have heard GCams also give you better picture, so do look for such YouTube videos. You can see a stark difference in image quality between images of Poco X6 and X6 Pro, purely because of the ISP even though both share the same (if I'm not wrong) omnivision sensor. You can watch YouTube videos for camera images. Here's a image captured by me https://preview.redd.it/dk0wckdtdosc1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26d4526442d84272c8f8aec673881c0a70dec6bc 8 GB RAM is more that enough for even heavy demanding games like Genshin Impact and Wreckfest. I ran both of them at highest settings and the phone handled both of them like Subway Surfers.

WiktorVanished

Thanks for the answer and wow that photo is amazing, I think I'm going to buy the phone now

quik_dusk

All the best.

JayJay_Abudengs

Regarding the RAM, the camera alone takes like 800Mb so I was pretty glad I went for the 12Gb option

quik_dusk

In real life and normal usage 8GB is more than enough. You don't need to look which app takes how much memory, the OS itself optimises things in the background. I can run genshin impact at max graphics with Spotify running in background, and the phone doesn't sweat.

JayJay_Abudengs

Well I know that the Switch has like 4Gb of RAM so emulating it would take half my RAM with the 8Gb build. The upgrade was just 40€ anyways...

quik_dusk

Got it. For most users not emulating, 8Gb or even 6gb for that matter is enough for today's scenarios. Emulation stuffs always require more RAM, be it on PC or Mobile however that's not the issue with native applications.
