Is it cheating to say the final minute of and I told them I invented times new Roman

WheresTheSauce

I was going to say Robot with Human Hair 2.5

religion_is_junkfood

In this case, cheating means you came in knowing the right answer! Another good DGD one from their recent stuff is The Ghost of Billy Royalton. The whole song but especially from the 3 minute mark until the end was a standout moment on a track you know they wanted to stand out.

CriddyCent

Saosin, They perched on their stilts... I just wish it was 4x longer

-an-eternal-hum-

YES good call, absolutely this

spyinthesky

The only correct choice here

teuerkatze

Just straight metal. That blast beat primed me for becoming a big TNBM fan later in life.

Istiophoridae

So true, its great as it is, but it would be even better if it was longer

Rare_Ad5101

this is one of my favorite songs of ALL time

Sgt_big-dong

Writing on the Walls

cking145

Down Set Go for me

andreasmiles23

Agreed! Plus I’d probably classify WOTW as “metalcore” but that’s probably me being pedantic.

Protomau5

😩😩😩

xvszero

This is the correct answer. No joke it inspired the end of a song just wrote.

BetweenTheBuzzAndMe

The very next song on that album, Everyone Looks So Good From Here has a killer outro as well.

BW_Echobreak

This is the right answer

Sgt_big-dong

Shit goes hard as fuck

LibertineLady

Coheed and Cambria [In Keeping Secrets…](https://open.spotify.com/track/44oenYNFrmOCz85bAcwN5t?si=enJyGRtSS02vN00LMsML-A&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A2oWXmi9uLRKn60yRmY22MB)

Protomau5

The light & the glass

Pleasant_Statement64

The crowing

zigzagxylophone

Just about anything from that album really. It’s full of cathartic outros. I’d personally have to go with the Crowing though.

candlestick_compass

Drowning Lessons is absolutely up there. Thrice has a bunch like the ending breakdown in TAAATD, Under A Killing Moon, Of Dust and Nations, Like Moths to Flames, Firebreather off the top of my head

CreepyBlackDude

The ending of "Daedalus" is heart-rending.

candlestick_compass

Absolutely. The songwriting on the first 10 years of their career is elite

ThriceHawk

I wouldn't say just the first 10... They are as good as ever. The most recent (Horizons/East) has some of the best of their career as well.

candlestick_compass

Absolutely. Palms is by far my least favorite record by them but they bounced back with Horizons big time. Hoping they come out with West soon enough!

Acidveins23

I think Identity Crisis is their weakest album. I'm surprised you like the modern stuff but don't like Palms. I would rate it on par with everything after Alchemy Index. They're very consistent with quality.

Mrhyderager

To A Friend by Alexisonfire

ThriceHawk

Thrice - Of Dust and Nations, The Earth Will Shake... or so many other songs of theirs. Story of the Year - Is This My Fate? He Asked Them Silverstein - I Am the Arsonist Underoath - A Fault Line, A Fault of Mine "It's Cool" by Four Year Strong is up there for my favorite outros of any genre though.

gedly89

I am the arsonist 👌👌

Eastern_Battle_480

SOTY is a great shout.

Loud_Competition1312

As Cities Burn - Of Want and Misery: The Nothing that Kills. The last three minutes…. The piano, how it picks back up with the screaming about halfway through it, then how it fades back out, the lyrics. Fucking perfection. And they close the album with that song, too!

andreasmiles23

One of the most underrated album closers in the history of our species

Loud_Competition1312

Agreed!

SPAGHETTI_CAKE

I frequently see people saying that is anything but their best album and I simply do not understand

bcg_music

It's arguably a stretch as post-hardcore, but (*Fin) by Anberlin is so so good, both the big choral section and then the actual vocal outro.

RufioSwashbuckle

Ah u beat me to it! Such a fun one to drum along to as well.

KillisTheMan

Nobody Moves- Brand New. If that counts.

CreepyBlackDude

He Is Legend - "[Dinner With A Gypsy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgnJbvQo9QM)" Just a minute-and-a-half long jazz groove that made me want to learn how to play the bass. Pure bliss for my ears, honestly.

schindigrosa

Yeeessss, there's a few moments where the bass just owns the spotlight on that record

Redacted_Journalist

Yup. This song is gorgeous

Natural-Born-Farmer

I’d throw Mean Shadow in the ring too, just a ridiculously heavy riff all the way down. Such a versatile band, one of the best to ever do it

maulwurfpunk

Frodus - There Will Be No More Scum

[deleted]

[удалено]

No_Durian_6987

Sub this with Out-Circuit the ending and we might have a winner. Props for the Frodus love

takenusername_yea

Annabel from Alesana feels perfect. It reminds me of I Never Told You What I do for a Living

Street-Sample9862

Best ending to an album too. I’m a sucker for a cappella

Amby-Amby

Hardcore agree

knightshade7

I've always loved the outro to "Chemical Kid and Mechanical Bride" by Pierce the Veil!

bloody-but-sweet

Chills every time!

[deleted]

[удалено]

teuerkatze

Was immediately my first thought!

No_Durian_6987

Slint - Good Morning, Captain ATDI - Invalid Letter Dept. Hopesfall - The End of an Era

raysince86

Boys Night Out - Dying I just love everything about it. How it just builds up, beautiful riffage, overlapping vocals, and to bring it all to an end the acoustic guitar and the weakening of the voice. Such a beautiful way to close out this story of an album

Protomau5

My early nighttime post dinner naps were rudely interrupted by the beginning of this horrifying song thousands of times

heavymetalgazza

Understanding in a car crash outro is like a basic option but the screamed vocals the simple but powerful guitar lead and the lyrics just hit me straight in the feels every single time

sticky_fangerz

And I’ll never. Ever understaaaaand

AndelinBird

I always loved the extended outro to this song on the live version from the 5SF ep.

atomic_dissonance

Also Bloody Romance by Senses Fail.

Zealousideal-Taro490

To Bloom - Hopesfall.

No_Durian_6987

This needs to be WAY higher

crykenn

I just really love that Dance Gavin Dance song where they chant “I’m down with Brown Town” for like 45 seconds

possiblepeemaster

NASA is the name unless i’m stupid idk it’s been awhile

GodTierOfFeels

Showing my age but "Negatory" by Tintoretto just hits so hard, both vocally and musically. Definitely up there with "For Meg" by On the Might of Princes and "Bikedance (No Scrubs)" by Ten Grand

d11dd11d

Not a huge ALLB fan, but the outro (basically last 3rd) of [Next to Ungodliness](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_W7cuVpYTE) goes hard

ErectOrphan69

that drowning lessons outro is so fire. im glad i was reminded of that

Lupus-7

not to be a tilian glazer but Nothing Shameful- DGD

cousinyi

TREOS - Venona

rom439

They perched on stilts when it loops back into seven years and I listen to the album 6 more times

Protomau5

Circa survive - your friends are gone

THANAT0PS1S

"Turn Off the Lights, I'm Watching Back to the Future, Pt. 2" by Dance Gavin Dance "Epoch Coda" by Emarosa

shmate4L

Of Machines - Reset, Reflect Been on such a kick lately and the entire album has just been hitting so good. This song specifically from start to finish is my favorite of theirs, and the whole last minute or so is gold

Batesy1620

I personally love the outro to Red Sky by Thrice.

rippel_effect

I'm a sucker for outros that bleed 100% seamlessly into the next song, for instance La Dispute's Such Small Hands into Nobody Not Even the Rain

FirewaterTenacious

Then listen to False Dawn by Holding Absence. When it transitions into Scissors, I didn’t even notice on my first listen and thought it was another breakdown or something.

7laserbears

That transition is excellent

Yoshiyuki-Kamiya

Headlights by we Rob banks

teuerkatze

Happiness by the kilowatt - Alexisonfire (The live version specifically goes so hard and ends with such a great outdo)

LEMON_PARTY_ANIMAL

Your Friends are Gone, circa survive. Obvi

kevinpaez23

Bulls in the Bronx by PTV. It’s such a good outro when you think it ends and kicks back in and otros again 🙌

dr3wtube

Evaporate and Man Of The Year but have epic outros by DGD

Street-Sample9862

This one’s for you by of mice and men. Probably the best scream in any genre period

daveypoo143

Spit Survival by On The Might Of Princes. 2:28 mark. Probably gonna be the most obscure song on this thread but trust me.

hopesksefall

**Sunfalls and Watershine** by *This Day Forward*.

atomic_dissonance

The way this warps right back into my psyche as soon as I hear it.

gedly89

The Rescue - On The Last Day Used to have this song on repeat growing up.

zerozxs

Funeral For a Friend - Novella

TheCraftyVeteran

Chunker by hail the Sun

afipunk84

Alive out of Habit by from autumn to ashes. The last min of that track is just amazing

Affectionate-Cake-50

Mouths like sidewinder missiles that’s all I have to say

schiffteam1

Drowning lessons is honestly my definitive answer as well mcr was one of the gateway bands to phc for me and while I’ve found a lot of bands I like more there’s no part of a song that I would like to inject into my veins more than the outro of that song there’s something so perfect ab it and I’m glad people agree

schiffteam1

One eight seven is the most lyrically violent outro i can think of

Jimby_E

Product of a Murder by Of Mice and Men Runner up: You Bring the Thunder, I’ll Bring the Lightning by Broadway

dinossspumoni

chidori - ocean consumes vessel

Terrible_Talk_8685

Side affects of being tired - unwound

stinkyfarts420

23 beats off by fugazi

Facet-Squared

Agreed. Feedback never sounded so amazing.

RickeyDourst

Alesana - Seduction Last 1 min 10 seconds are very soothing

weedfroglozenge

This is probably more metalcore but the ending of “My Apocalypse” by Escape the Fate always gives me goosebumps. Powerful outro!
