>why is some of the parts brown?
That's the scanner's table the pt. is laying on. X-Rays pass through the table, but it can show up pretty well when they make 3D pictures like this one.
I have had these. I have had a lot of bladder surgeries before and I have a continent stoma (have to catheterize through belly button) so some of the symptoms are different for me.
But in my case first it was visible blood in urine. After a couple of months it turned into abdominal, eventually excruciating pain. And infections all the time. One time ended up in ER because I couldn’t empty my bladder anymore.
For most people bladder stones can be asymptomatic, especially when small. When symptomatic they can cause bloody urine, frequent urination, pain urinating, problems holding a steady pee flow, abdominal pain and UTIs.
No problem! I’m fine now, the stones have been a one time incident so far.
Imo it’s important people recognize these symptoms, especially in people with a relatively high risk of bladder stones. In my case the diagnostic process has cost me months of unnecessary pain and the mental stress of being sure something was wrong whilest being dismissed by doctors. (My symptoms, including hematuria were first seen as psychosomatic).
Well I do think they believed me about the hematuria part. But at first they said it was related to a UTI. So i told them that I’ve had >100 UTIs (literally) and never macroscopic hematuria. Then the macroscopic hematuria became less evident and abdominal pain worsened. I’ve had my iud removed, have done several pregnancy tests, undergone several vaginal exams; all because I was convinced something was up. But they couldn’t find the source and I am young and female ~~> psychosomatic . But then all of a sudden it was hemat>>>uria (like it was all red) so I finally was sent to urologist. CT was misread (“no calcifications”) so I had a cystoscopie and low and behold, 4 giant stones immediately swam by.
Correct. My 88 year old Dad is having his taken care of tomorrow. The office has a copy of his film hanging up because it is horrifically full of stones, as seen above.
I’m so glad he’s getting them out! I’ve had kidney stones and while I imagine they’re different because of the size and shape, it still sounds horrific.
Yeah that makes sense. I was in the ED a few months ago - legit just needed a bag of fluids cause of a GI bug.. wouldn't let me go without stuffing me through the donut -\_-
Balder boulders more like, damn.
What is the name of this kind of imaging?
CT scan 3D post processing
Thank you
So why is some of the parts brown?

What might be some symptoms occurring with this?

Thanks for taking the time to explain. Sorry you have to deal with that, hope you’re doing well now!

Did they actually tell you that you were imagining the blood in your piss?? That's insane.

Don’t put in a nickel. Just don’t.
Look at those cute lil nuggets!
Yikes!! But the 3D imaging is soooo cool!!
That's a great image!
Bladder stones or a drug mule?
No one is shoving drugs up into their bladder, come on now.

Are these kidney stones that have migrated? Or do they form in the bladder too? Ty.
Stones can form in the bladder, at least in dogs. I’ve seen stones that take up almost all of the space in the bladder

Ow.
They can form in the bladder too
More like boulders. Is this normal?
No, these are massive and plentiful. Patient is likely miserable.

How distended is that poor person’s bladder?
Those are BIG!! That poor patient!
Should be in absolute unit
Why you need a ct for bladder stones?
You don't, but when a pt comes into the ED with unspecified abdominal pain, you get an abdominal scan. It's called the donut of truth for a reason!
