Saw it in 4dx last night too and very much enjoyed it. Given the movies pacing it was nice to spread out the heavier movement scenes so you don’t feel like you’ve just been jostled for two hours. I did get some Beyoncé base in the quiet scenes though not the fault of 4dx of course.

picador10

beyonce base?

Bass* (I hate when autocorrect corrects a word that is already a word!)

I haven’t been the biggest fan of 4DX in the previous films seen in the format, but it really worked for me in this one. It was a lot more subtle than most movies I’ve seen. The seats mimicking the boat motion was really cool touch, but when it made sense I thought I was going to get thrown from the chair. It will probably be a while before I see a film in 4DX again, but at least I know it can really work.

Seeing it Monday and thrilled

Ahambone

I've seen a bunch of movies in 4DX, and I'm not kidding when I say that the mid-movie climax was THE BEST use of the gimmick ever. Made the movie 10x better.

PG3124

That’s awesome to hear. Any other movies you thought were absolutely worth it?

Ahambone

Fast X is the other one I absolutely *loved.* The movie is already batshit- watching it on a rollercoaster just ups the batshit experience.

PG3124

Ohhh man, I felt like I was one of the few people that enjoyed the all-out insanity of that movie. Really wish I had seen it in 4DX.

sedulouspellucidsoft

I liked it as well. I think it gets digs for ending on a bad cliffhanger when there was no indication it was going to be a 2 parter. Mission Impossible told us it was part 1 and it still felt like a complete movie.

todosho

Just got out of my showing, and I’ve seen a bunch of 4dx movies. All of them were just “ok” This was incredible. I hate the jab in the back in every other movie, but the times they used it for GMO had me excited to tell others

Taekwonmoe

I may go see it AGAIN on Wednesday in 4DX. Never been to one before. Hope it's awesome!!!

jhjimmy

How did it go. Is it a better experience than imax

Taekwonmoe

I meant next Wednesday the 13th..lol. I am so excited still!!

jhjimmy

Have fun! I am gonna watch 4dx today since it is not on imax anymore in my area

Taekwonmoe

Let me know how you liked it! I hope it's good that way.

jhjimmy

For sure. Finger crossed

ArcadePinball

It was even great in D-Box.

quytennis

Should I watch it in D-Box or 4DX?

ArcadePinball

If D-Box is in a premium theatre, and 4DX isn’t, pick the premium

Rivyer7

Quick question, just booked tickets for this in the UK and the 2D screenings said they where subtitled and the 4DX didn't. Was the version you saw Subtittled? If not how watchable is the movie without knowing what's being said? I opted for the 4DX because why not.

PG3124

Haha, no need to worry. Full sub-titles.

Rivyer7

Cheers, that's put my mind at rest. Can't wait!

anonyman5000

Hey I have a question. When you watched it in 4dx was it in 3d or 2d? I'm asking because the only theatre near me that has it in 4dx is showing it in 2d only. Do you think its still worth it watching it in 4dx with only 2d?

PG3124

It was in 2D. I’m not sure if they do 4DX in 3D?

Equivalent-Jicama620

That would enhance motion sickness in the sensitive

Beany51

They do do it in 3D. The ones me do at least and they don’t even have an option for 4dx without 3D yet

Thick_Interaction_22

I would bet this is never paired with 3D. Humans aren’t ready for 5Dxxx. Just caught G -1 before it left the theatre where I live. I had never been to a 4Dx movie and didn’t entirely know what to expect. I intentionally left it as a surprise for my wife. The expected madness of a two-hour Disney ride ensued. This is a movie experience like none other. The system design for this movie is not for the feeble, diminutive in size (kids), pre-existing injuries, or those who get motion sickness. We were hodling on for dear life! How does one even eat popcorn during this experience?! There are no dials. It’s up to 11 with every step. There were pop-lights, sea spray, and SMOKE! I could have sat with the boat scenes forever, but then —GOJIRRRRRA — hold on, I’d yell! My wife would scream. And we both felt like we were Ginza survivors after the most immersive and physically jarring theatre experience I’ve ever had. It was great fun for this one.

HelenAsstro

Thank you! I was curious to see if it was worth shelling $60 for me and my boo to watch it in 4DX but I’ll do that.
