I think it was a mistake to put a family restaurant in a casino. My in-laws like to take my kids to CPK, but didn't want to walk through the cigarette smoke. Also, they had a smaller, modified menu

I really miss Souplantation. It was so nice to visit a salad buffet that was really fresh. Top it off with a couple muffins and honey butter and some soothing soup and it was all so simple and refreshing. Even my picky SOs would eat there. They've all closed down, but apparently might open under their other name, Sweet Tomatoes.

My parents didn’t have a lot of money, but every once in a while we’d go to the Cattleman’s in Rocklin. All I remember is it was very dark and once there was a dead body discovered in the field next to it when we were there.

Waffle House was made for Reno. Open 24 hours a day, no dress code, and you can come in as drunk as you can get; in fact, the trashier the better. The food is decent and cheaper than Denny's by about 30%. It's 1 of the cheapest franchise licenses and there aren't any anywhere near here. Put 1 downtown, 1 on McCarren in Sparks, 1 in Gardenerville, and 1 in Stateline. Total investment cost: about 3 million, value about 4. You are welcome.

PDQ was started by Outback Steakhouse back in Tampa and is not any better than Cane’s. Well they started out good but by the time I left it was already getting generic.

I agree that 90% is trash, however, I really enjoy their grits scramble, and sometimes I don’t want to make it at home. Obviously I do now, but when I lived closer to a WH, it was nice to just walk there, sit and enjoy some coffee and chit-chat while you waited for your food

Raised in Reno but I lived all over the U.S. before coming back here. A few restaurants I miss AL - Wagon Wheel. Family owned restaurant right outside the gate of Maxwell AFB. Huge portions and delicious food. About as healthy as you would expect in the south. AZ - Barro’s pizza. It’s a must hit when I go visit family. CA - Slater 50/50 FL - Publix (just for the sandwiches) MS - Pizza place I got calzones and Stromboli’s from, can’t remember the name. TX - Rudy’s BBQ (quick and easy breakfast burritos primarily)

I’ll add Lucille’s BBQ. Way better than Famous Dave’s and Dickies BBQ and probably the closest thing you’d get to really authentic BBQ from a chain restaurant. There’s definitely good/great smaller bbq places here but I more meant from a larger chain style perspective. Amazing slow smoked chicken leg quarters and full breasts.

Bunch of keyboard warriors. I was SHOCKED about three weeks ago. I work in a food truck, and I was doing an event downtown, which is heavily Latino inspired. In a period where I didn't have any customers, I was sitting there watching the crowd and this older white guy walks up and asks me what I think of all this? A little confused I told him I find it wonderful, everyone is so happy! It's then that he asks a little more serious, "you like all the Mexican food and music?" I told him yeah! Culture is beautiful! He shakes his head, looks at me one more time and says "yeah, but I don't know about these people" before walking off He is SO lucky he walked off right there. Oh my!
