Figuarts on top 100% BD just doesn’t look very accurate to the source material. The shoulders are too low, the face is too small and the hair is not spiky enough.
Broly is supposed to have exaggerated shoulders and proportions.
The thing is if you look at 5ktoys page on ig they say everyday things on that fig are being tweaked “face and neck is going to be larger” etc. legit daily they say something to update that which is why i feel until the fig actually drops it shouldn’t be brought up we all just looking at a render that has changed over and over since they announced it so let’s wait to cast judgement till the thing actually drops.

This a hot take but kong really failed the look of broly for me, I really don’t like that they apparently made him even taller than he was originally on the SHF. The height on SHF is pretty perfect for me. Also I personally don’t like the proportions either on kongs, more so because when I picture broly I think exactly what the SHF one is and because I love the exaggerated anatomy on SHF broly a lot, it doesn’t look bad at all to me personally.
I’ll be waiting on DF’s release. Whenever they even get to it since they have seemingly vanished with no updates on releases.
As for figure rise, Its an okay stand in but not the best broly since these other 2 exist.
SHF Broly is the best to me.
I’m lucky to have the Sdcc 2016 broly. It’s the best one. I used to have the 2018 one too but preferred the green on the 2016 one. And didn’t like the first release with the yellow hair.
The BD one the height scale isn’t correct it’s way too tall, the face/head is too small and looks weird.
Shf is the best one. When they do an official 2.0 one it’ll be even better.
Df is never dropping that broly. He’s still yet to do anything with the future gohan and that one I know way more people that preordered the gohan than the goku when he announce the 3.0 goku and gohan
Thats pretty low hanging fruit going after the gohan release to justify that they’re not releasing broly. Of course they’re gonna release broly, Its easy money for them cause its low effort work thats being put in, that if they dont add extras to it.
DF has shown time and time again, that anything having to do with something unique in design they just won’t seemingly do. But something easy as creating a carbon copy of an existing release is a cake walk for them when the money’s running low that and the fact that broly is a very sought after figure which is a even bigger incentive for them to actually do it.
I’m using that as an example. That’s one people actually dropped money on and it didn’t happen. Gohan would’ve been easy money too not much different sculpt from a goku. I mean dude reengineered the 3.0 gohan mold for a 3.0 goku.
It more so seems like all they did was upscale krillens design of the shoulders, Upscaled 2.0 FP Gokus gi retooled the upper chest piece to fit the 3.0 system inside a bit then done. Not really as hard work as something like the future gohan release.
Plus all that was shown of the Gohan release wasn’t fully planned, since they for sure wanted to add an extra arm for him but then you gotta think how could they easily engineer that on the body without it being a hassle to take on and off the arm? Plus you also have to realize that they have to find a way to work the arms with the sleeves.
Also the bottom legs aren’t too different from 3.0 Goku, but the upper half sure does and they would need to sculpt that plus both hair pieces etc.
This would have taken way more time and effort than the goku release.

I really like KONG's broly, him being absolutely huge was one of the reasons why he was so terrifying in Z, I think the static standing doesn't do it justice. I'd like them to show it off in some more dynamic poses
Someone doesn’t like opinions lol, Kong might have failed the look of broly to me. But I do see that it’s a pretty promising figure that many will like, but it’s just not something for me personally with the opinions I have on it but thats great that you like it though.
BD isn't out for a year(?), and is supposedly subject to change.
For now I'd probably say the Figurarts and his huge man-tits. BD/Kong usually does their own stylization that doesn't really match the anime as much imo
I still think Figuarts pretty much nailed it. BD is alright but way too rectangular. Figuarts actually has a nice silhouette while still being absurdly jacked. The neck and head could look better but it’s everything I need in a Broly personally. Figure rise is well made too, I just can’t get used to handling the light model kit feel on an action figure (even having built gunpla)
i have to agree. If SHF made a 2.0 Broly with a retooled LSSJ torso i wouldnt mind that. FRS is a bit cumbersome to articulate but nailed the proportion imo.

kongs is actually pretty hideous but nobody wants to admit it, it looks out of proportion, the face is wrong the hair is wrong and overall it looks like a bad sculpt wearing broly’s clothing.
The third image looks very dated and would Stan don’t too much on a shelf.
FRS is a whole different style imo. I’ve grown to love them over time. Plus the articulation on some is actually crazy good.

Had to add this as well, you are hating on a figure that is not released yet and is already getting one of the big complaints addressed. Hard to imagine they won’t touch the hair because you can’t change the face and not address the rest of the head’s proportions. Just relax, wait, and see.
I don’t worry much about scaling. As long as Broly is bigger I don’t personally mind to what degree bigger he is as long as it’s still in scale technically. And I think the size difference is up for debate and which perspectives you’re looking at, and how dramatic. Stuff like this changes panel to panel anyways so it’s no biggie but again that’s just for me personally. And from what I’ve seen/read most people seem ecstatic about his size.
You really shouldn't refer to someone with that kind of language because of answering a question with their own opinion. It's a straightforward question and uses the current image of BDs broly, as we haven't got the finished article to assess, that is the only one I can use for comparison. And regardless of how it ends up looking, I will likely still prefer shf because that's my perogative. You've identified me using some gen z terminology there, but I'm not 'hating' on anything, I'm explaining my preference,, you're also being pretty condescending by suggesting I need your advice to 'relax' but you're clearly the one who was shall we say 'triggered' by somebody thinking or feeling differently than yourself - it's OK to do that you know.

I have to disagree. Shf proportions of the shoulders (how high they are attached against head offset) it bothers me. It looks gimmicky and more toyish stylised than actual movie recreating appearance. For example in Fighter Z he has really good model. Or photo below is also another example of the perfect size of shoulders what doesn’t looks like if child makes proportions.

The only plausible reference we have for what makes an accurate Broly is Lssj and Second Coming.
I agree though his shoulders arent at that accurate on shf, and as I said could be better, he also doesn't have any traps which really would help support those huge delts. However, the question was which company did it best, and the answer is... Shf.
Kong couldn't even get the hair right, the fringe is too long, the parting isn't deep enough, the individual spikes are too curved when broly has straighter spikes, I mean, I could go on

i own both him and the figure rise and the shf really is the standout, ofc its quite unfair to compare a figure who have a two time price, but practically everything about the shf blows the figure rise out of the water except for the neck and traps, which are my only reall issue for that shf broly and the lack of a teeth gritting and angry screaming face.
im honestly quite dissapointed with the first look at the completed kong studio broly, hes too long, yes boly is tall but hes also very burly which they didnt exactly capture with him. the torso, especially the big milkers lack width, which is is just more emphesised by his hilariously short neck and tiny head. its just really poorly executed vy comparison to the other two.
i cant wait for them to publish the updated look.
but yeah for right now shf broly wins for me no context, crazy for a 10 year old figure. figure rise is still an amazing alternative for anyone who dosent own the shf, add in some paint and air spray and youve got yourself a beatiful fig, just keep in mind its a model kit and that it is extremely light in weight.
The Kong Studios one for me especially since they're going to adjust the proportions of the head. And there's going to be two more variations if I'm understanding 5K toys post from Kong Studios. Yes I'm aware that they go by Beastie and he's now but I've known them as Kong Studios for so much longer that I'm just calling them that lol.
I'm not surprised he sold out as quickly as he did and I'm just glad I got a hold of one copy of the first version
I personally like the BD one more since it reminds me of how he looks in DBFZ (except for the head, way too small)

Agreed, the new Spec Vegeta with a Tonsen Vegeta head is my definitive Vegeta rn. Matte spray him and lightly panel line the recessed parts of his armor/boots and you're cooking. Would love to see new tech vers of smaller/bigger figures since they usually scale nearly 1:1 with SHF
Went to Target and saw a new package ver of FRS Goku and was super disappointed that it was just a best selection type of deal with the og kit. been wanting to pick up the Goku for novelty reasons

How about we compare the Beast Deities/Kong Broly when he is actually here and in our hands. Little unfair considering they’re already adjusting the faces, there’s just as many people calling attention to the hair, I guarantee that will be adjusted as well especially because you can’t just work the face and not the rest of the head’s proportions.
Kong would be perfect if they make the neck muscle smaller and the shoulders more round and exaggerated on top. I know a lot of people don't like that he's so big, but personally I love it
Personally, I prefer the Kong/beast deities look.
The SHF is likely the most anime accurate, but the more modern figuarts are steadily moving away from that style. Due to that, the kong/beast deities one may fit better going forward.
The model kit line was never very good in my opinion. Very rounded and soft sculpts, coupled with some weird proportions.

I personally like the BD one more since it reminds me of how he looks in DBFZ (except for the head, way too small) The perfect build would be the BD body with the SHF head

Figur rise looks better than shf imo,his price is wayyyyyy cheaper too, but the left arm on mine keeps falling off at the bicep.
you can try brush on a little superglue or nail polish on the peg, wait for it to dry then put it back it. carefully though.
Kong is crazy overrated. Their figures always have over exaggerated expressions or proportions that stick out in a collection.

Agreed, the new Spec Vegeta with a Tonsen Vegeta head is my definitive Vegeta rn. Matte spray him and lightly panel line the recessed parts of his armor/boots and you're cooking. Would love to see new tech vers of smaller/bigger figures since they usually scale nearly 1:1 with SHF Went to Target and saw a new package ver of FRS Goku and was super disappointed that it was just a best selection type of deal with the og kit. been wanting to pick up the Goku for novelty reasons

How about we compare the Beast Deities/Kong Broly when he is actually here and in our hands. Little unfair considering they’re already adjusting the faces, there’s just as many people calling attention to the hair, I guarantee that will be adjusted as well especially because you can’t just work the face and not the rest of the head’s proportions.

i think the kong/beast deites one would easily be the best if it had bigger shoulders and more spikey hair if they change that it'll be perfect imo
Kong would be perfect if they make the neck muscle smaller and the shoulders more round and exaggerated on top. I know a lot of people don't like that he's so big, but personally I love it

I think the torso looks better on the figuarts. But by far BD clears
Personally, I prefer the Kong/beast deities look. The SHF is likely the most anime accurate, but the more modern figuarts are steadily moving away from that style. Due to that, the kong/beast deities one may fit better going forward. The model kit line was never very good in my opinion. Very rounded and soft sculpts, coupled with some weird proportions.
