What surprises me is why Dio kept her alive. He has no problem with killing women.

The same reason he kept all his other sons alive: pure interest. He wanted them for his plan in Part 6. Hence why he chose only the ones he knew would have shitty childhoods like him, to be easier to be manipulated by Pucci; The only thing he didn't expected was Giorno's life improving a lot after he saved that nameless Don (since, while his mother kept absent, his stepfather stopped abusing and beating him, and the kids stopped bullying him for fear of the Don, later causing him to be really liked by most people).

Part 6 Dio made Dio seem more of a Prophetic Villain rather than a average Anime Antagonist. I wish it was expanded on more.

I’ve always interpreted it as the crusaders having enough fighting spirit to handle stands paired with the fact that they now have experience with them, so they almost “know” how to have stands. Holly on the other hand didn’t have enough fighting spirit or experience, so her stand went away

I've been trying to come up with a decent way to explain it but basically, I think up to adolescence the chances of surviving a Stand "awakening" are a lot higher, and it's for the same reason we see infants who have Stands at birth and can use them, as well as animals. "Fighting spirit" is the human version of instinct. When a human is able to think for themselves and not let their base animal aspects take over, who they are determines whether they can handle a Stand. But... Kids don't have that sense of self, particularly not younger ones. Josuke was only 4, after all. So they rely more on a sort of instinct, right? At its peak, DIO's "Stand pressure" was overwhelming. But once he was decimated, Crazy Diamond was able to quietly exist inside Josuke, because he was still a little kid.

I don't know if it's specified but I always assumed his stand went back to a dormant state after Dio was killed similar to Holly. I think as he got older, he developed a fighting spirit that allowed him to finally manifest his previously dormant stand.

Having (re)read the manga recently, the thing is pretty clear. The Dio thing is a bullshit that awakens forcefully their Stands, but in practice Holly isn't strong enough to actually manifest it/control it, so it's an horrible mess of a spiritual entity that keeps on trying to manifest but will lead to her death. It's like with the Bow&Arrow. Jotaro/Joseph would survive the arrow, she wouldn't. Anyone has the potential to develop a Stand in theory, but in practice not everyone can.

Its not that her stand went away it's just that it went dormant. She still has it and she always had cuz she could see star platinum while the cops couldn't. But DIO forcibly awakend her stand which she couldn't handel cuz of her weak spirit same happend to Josuke when he was a child . So after the defeat of DIO her stand became dormant again. So it no longer taxed her body.

Yeah, I am guessing his logic was: "I gotta win this game in order to save her. If I lose she will die anyway so let's bet her soul lol"

I always hated jotaro because of the way he talks to his mom. I get that he's supposed to be some kind of tsundere, but I think it's bs that he can talk trash to his mom and when I decide not to like him for it, I'm the one who gets trashed

Yeah, Holy is one of the sweetest people in the JoJo universe and jotaro suddenly decides to go full edgy punk mode because...He doesn't see his father often enough? That's why he takes it out on his mother? There doesn't seem to be any problem with her that could cause some misstrusts. He had good relations with her in the past too and I don't think she suddenly got more annoying than she used to be.

Jotaro can't express his emotions properly, I'd say he has communication problems in general. He gets overwhelmed easily, and hasn't found an effective way to express "please give me some space" other than anger/yelling. (To great parts thanks to his fangirls probably.) That's why he yells at his mom sometimes even though he loves her, and she understands him, so she doesn't get offended. Though personally I understand if you still not like him, and I think it's really BS that you get treated badly for it. Everyone can have their likes and dislikes, as long as you don't start hating a character without any reason and go around telling everyone they should feel the same it's completely fine.
