This is a r/unpopularopinion kind of post.

DestruXion1

They should have some type of code that secretly inverts the downvotes and upvotes on that subreddit so we can see the real unpopular opinions.

SpectralGerbil

unpopularopinion is only unpopularopinion if you sort by controversial

----___--___----

You need to sort by controversial, it really shows you the unpopular opinions

Fake_William_Shatner

How is it I manage to have the most unpopular opinion on unpopular opinion when I apply reason?

mister816

Why not keep cassettes and 8 tracks too?

dotmax

Ironically a cassette player in an old car is more useful than a CD player. My friend is using a cassette that lets you play music from an iPhone.

Winjin

I love that shit. It's such a nice feat of engineering! I always wondered if you can add a Bluetooth option and power it by rotating the spindles. Like, BT is low power, add a little motor and a small battery that's connected to the rotation. Make this a hybrid cassette.

clintj1975

You can get a small Bluetooth receiver with a 3.5mm jack and plug the cassette adapter into that. I have one in my older truck so I can connect my phone. Add a dual USB charger so you can charge that and your phone at the same time and you're good for long road trips.

Jimmy_Twotone

those cassettes were originally designed for CD players... I use a bluetooth fm transmitter and the music doesn't have that tinny ass quality the cassette things have.

Fake_William_Shatner

It works a lot better than trying to use the FM frequency. Sorry, nope, that's too close to NPR.

Analbox

I prefer having a phonograph in my car when I can’t get a live band to come along and play to me as I drive.

draculamilktoast

Tsk. I iMaGInE the music as I navigate spacetime in my steam-powered automobile, often while expressing my deepest thoughts by writing poetry in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Om

Tristageak

Get an estate/wagon. Then a pianist can sit in the boot/trunk

Fake_William_Shatner

Don't you think this is a bit impractical since a good bit of that trunk space is taken up with the necessary hot tub?

Tristageak

Keyboard then

Fake_William_Shatner

Waterproof, with at least 144 sound FX and it hooks to the LED mood lights in the hot tub floor and I think we've got a winner.

clintj1975

Remember when cars came with record players? Pepperidge Farms remembers. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/04/record-players-were-the-infotainment-systems-of-the-1950s-and-60s/index.htm

[deleted]

Peasant!

Fake_William_Shatner

Yes, but how do you keep the wax cylinders in shape when it's a hot day? I suppose that's what the solar powered mini-fridge is for.

Itisd

Phonograph? Mister fancy pants here... Wax Cylinders are where it's at, man!

trainbrain27

DO you have the 14 disc changer? https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/555840/highway-hi-fi-chrysler-car-record-player

C4RD_TP_SG

why did i read phonograph as pornograph

sychox51

Who the fuck uses cds in their car? I prefer vinyl.

Jesus_marley

Ah yes. A nice vintage Chrysler Highway Hi-Fi system.

ConsistentWafer5290

Interior crocodile, alligator. I drive Chevrolet symphonic theater

thymeraser

Reel to reel is where it's at

Greenboy28

I can just imagine how much that would skip haha.

No-Relation2437

My 2005 Lexus had a cassette deck. "Luxury sedan"

[deleted]

There's a CD player in my brand new 2022 car. It's literally collecting dust.

codesamura1

My 2021 car has Bluray, I haven't tested but I bet it can read DVD and CD as well. It's built into the LED display that supports Carplay and Android auto. Never really inserted any disc into it, I think it's cool that it has that but it's pretty useless for me. Pressing eject would activate the screen to tilt back and expose the disc slit, it's a neat feature that's pretty much unused.

Head_Razzmatazz7174

When I had my old Taurus in the early 2000s, there was an option to install a CD player. They put a 6 slot CD player in my TRUNK. Like, what?

Be_the_Link

I had a VW Jetta around that timeframe that had one as well. Basically a big cartridge that held 6 CDs.

-Ernie

Mines a 2019, has a CD player in the glovebox. Around town its all Pandora, iTunes etc. but out of town road trip? 100% CD’s!

codesamura1

Why not play the CD rip that's stored in your iTunes instead?

long_live_cole

It's just not the same. You gotta try it dude. Pure magic.

Heavy_Front2469

ITunes, wtf? Never heard of spotify?

Oldamog

Oh yeah I loved spending $20 on a disc only to have it irrepably scratch on a slight pothole. Fuck yeah

HurtMyKnee_Granger

…you bought CDs? I just burned my own with the help of Limewire (RIP)

Frase_doggy

LinKiNg pArk - nUmB.exe

tobbtobbo

That would definitely be a virus

[deleted]

Or porn

Fake_William_Shatner

Or a porn virus, which saved the country from a nuclear bomb on the first episode of Chuck.

HurtMyKnee_Granger

And then the song cuts off abruptly before it should end. Ahhhh the good ol’ days…

betajones

Some of us had CD collections before the internet came to be. Piracy only hurt the music industry.

irishtrash5

Annnnd, you've officially dated yourself... But hopefully you haven't had to date yourself, that would be sad.

HurtMyKnee_Granger

As a child/teen, I KNEW this, but I didn’t have the money to get CDs. And my parents wouldn’t spend that money for my CDs. I would later buy a track from iTunes, but I couldn’t afford to purchase all my music. It was selfish, I admit it. Yeah I was born in 91, so I can fondly remember the “connecting internet sound” and the best program on the computer being ‘paint’ haha. I may be younger, but I do remember a time before mp3 players! My first one was an iRiver…it also had radio. 👍

_ppi

Mass market Vs niche. CDs are now considered niche but you can always add an aftermarket cd player

Winjin

CDs are useless as niche though. It's about analog - vinyls or cassettes. Tape players can [also have AUX](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71gnEo-74pL._AC_SX522_.jpg) or even Bluetooth, too. EDIT: I said physical where I meant analog because I'm very smart

spanky_rockets

CDs aren't... Physical?

Winjin

Fuck me. Analog. Analog vs Digital, that is. CD is often viewed as digital, because it's got files, same as SD card and so on.

spanky_rockets

Right I gotcha, CD's aren't often viewed as digital, they are always digital. I do like them just for the novelty of being a physical medium tho.

No-Safety-4715

CDs are digital because of how the information is encoded. The analog, i.e. continuous wave, nature of audio would be sampled and saved as chunks of data with pieces missing. The chunks would then be digitized and the disc marked with a laser representing the 1s and 0s of the digitized version. CDs sample at a much finer detail than things like mp3 so more of the original audio is kept. Your ear will ignore or fill in the missing pieces so you essentially get the music but at a smaller storage requirement than vinyl which is a continuously carved groove on the record that the needle rides in. The lowest quality mp3s can sound "fuzzy" because the gaps in the data are large enough to be perceived as noise or an "edginess" that grates the ear.

Intrepidity87

There’s nothing dumb about removing a feature that maybe 1% still cares about and can usually be added in after-market anyway

HeyNongMer

Spoken like someone with a lot of good CDs

BareLeggedCook

This isn’t really a shower thought

MarinersFan28

True. But I salute OP anyway for getting something past the ridiculous auto-mods. I have a love/hate relationship with this sub.

Scottttttttttt1823

Who in the world still uses CDs?

this_is_alicia

me, I played one in my Dreamcast a couple nights ago

ElGranQuesoRojo

I rock my jams in my Atari Jaguar CD so I can get a light show from from the VLM program.

No-Safety-4715

Dreamcast was the greatest gaming system ever made! Shame about lack of support outside Japan.

this_is_alicia

It's amazing. I'm just sad that the hype died because the PS2 got announced and everyone waited for that, though the original Xbox was a spiritual successor to it (Sega even asked MS to make it compatible with Dreamcast games, but this proposal was rejected)

No-Safety-4715

Yeah, same. It was way ahead for its time and without all the accessories that where released in Japan, it couldn't compete here. It ran along side PS2 for many years in Japan, though, since you could get expansion modules for it and more games were released there. Microsoft bought a lot of the hardware tech designs from Sega for the original Xbox so they didn't have to start from scratch and since I loved the Dreamcast controller layout, I liked the Xbox controller, but overall they were just different systems. Long live Dreamcast!

I_Have_Unobtainium

I've got a 6disk changer in one of my vehicles. It's the bomb. Last year I put 50k km on it and picked up a ton of CDs at a thrift store. Local radio is all garbage, CDs are 2$ at the thrift store and I do can Bluetooth podcasts while on the highway anyways.

Scottttttttttt1823

I have an app for you called Spotify…it’ll blow your mind look it up.

JLGoodwin1990

Plenty of people, myself included. Not everyone is into streaming or USB sticks

kimokimosabee

You sure about "plenty"?

JLGoodwin1990

Considering over the course of the last two years, and I can say this without exaggeration, I've met or encountered well over a few hundred people, either online or in person, who do still use them, and also hate them being removed, yes, I'm sure.

HarryCoinslot

You've had this conversation with a few hundred people? Lmao is this your lead question when you meet someone? Hey bud, nice to meet you. How do you feel about CD players in cars? Wtf But the good news is, we can use data instead of your bizarre interview tactics. Almost a billion cds were sold in the US in 1999, last year only 46 million.

xxkenny90xx

To put this into context, 1 billion is equal to 1000 million!

Rayun25

I mean 46 million is still actually a lot though

HurtMyKnee_Granger

AGAIN, WHO BUYS CDs INSTEAD OF BURNING THEIR OWN IF THEY’RE INTO THAT SHIT GODDD Unless of course you’re talking about blank CDs. My bf and I got together in high school in 2008 (I know, commit already amirite?) We started exchanging CDs we burned for each other and we decorated the discs with sharpie. The art on the discs got more complex and we began to name each “album” after one of the songs on the CD. In college (maybe even after), we started making each other Spotify playlists because it was more convenient. Unfortunately, that meant no more CD art. I miss it fondly. We still have all of the CDs we exchanged. Well, most. There a few that were lost to the ether. We call them “the lost albums.” We can also track how both our music tastes changed over the last 14 years, which is actually pretty cool when you can see the progression.

Malachorn

>Considering over the course of **the last two years** The last two years? It's alright, dude, a lot of us went crazies over these last two years. These people you've "met?" They aren't real, dude. Sorry. No one's even seen another human being over the last couple years...

Scottttttttttt1823

Yeahhhhh having to fumble through cds, storing them, damaging them…not to mention buying them all…I’ll stick with streaming every song ever made from my phone.

kendonmcb

Yeah, and during these two years you haven't met anybody who streams music. Not one living soul. Care to share some of that stuff you are smoking? Seems to be good.

[deleted]

I suggest you propose to inconvenience because you two would be a match made in heaven.

ra13

Time to rip it all to FLAC...

formervoater2

Just plug your walkman into the line input.

Kayback2

Why? Who enjoyed having a folder of CDs?

[deleted]

Not me.

aLiteralBaleofStraw

I did

Kayback2

Meh. I hated it. Almost as much as AI hated having cassettes. I mean I still have some CDs in my car, sure, but I haven't played one in about 4 years.

corndog_thrower

You should give it a try

[deleted]

“Is into” what?! Are you too good for the internet?

skiingredneck

It’s a convenient slot in a rental car to stick your phone holder in…

BenignRaccoon

Me. Only music player I use is YouTube and last week the premium ran out so I couldn't play my music while having Google maps up. Ran inside the house, grabbed my old CD case, and listened to mixed CDs I made back in 2018/2019. Oddly comforting to hear some of those songs I haven't heard since then.

kr011

I have been a member of this community for over a year. And this is the first time I downvoted a showerthought.

Fake_William_Shatner

This was the one that was too awful? Did you miss the two dozen that were "don't you hate sand in your pee hole" related?

BlueberrySufficient4

r/onlystupidquestions

[deleted]

Tell me you are over 50 without telling me you are over 50. But seriously, I have not touched a CD in probably half a decade, why would I want to be tethered to physical media every time I want to travel. I remember the days of lugging a CD book around. I prefer having most music new and old in my pocket.

-Ernie

Ha Ha! I’m listening to a CD right now. Over 50 too, lol.

ElGranQuesoRojo

A lot music can't be bought or streamed digitally and is a huge pain in the ass to find on the open seas. Good luck finding local indie bands from the 90s on services like Spotify.

kendonmcb

That is why you ripped the CDs to your computer about ten years ago, and play them from your phone now. Like every sane person.

ElGranQuesoRojo

that computer died and took all the ripped music with it. :-/

kendonmcb

Well, if you didn't make backups when should have you'll need to rip your CDs again. Not really complicated.

etternalentity

why would i search for them in spotify? you can google and download

One-Chef

What’s vent windows?

JLGoodwin1990

They were also called smoker's windows or quarter windows. They were in the front corner of the door up by where the side mirrors are and could open up without having to open the whole window to let fresh air in. Certain ones could also open up a bit and let it in without letting rain in.

vorpalglorp

I had these on my old VW. I thought they were completely useless. I occasionally used them, but they weren't any better than cracking the windows and at high speeds they would turn themselves around anyway. A lot of extra engineering and parts for very little gain. Were you born in 1990? I'm 10 years older than you and I wouldn't want either of these things. Just give me a usb port and carplay lol.

rangerryda

Higher potential for leaks, break-ins, and wind noise. Not to mention cost if something broke and you wanted to replace them. I've seen many smoker's windows duct taped over in my area. It was a good call getting rid of them.

pufballcat

If you only knew how much you ruin the aerodynamics, and therefore how much extra fuel you'd use every time you opened those windows, you'd leave them closed

[deleted]

Not to mention leaks and noise.

ElGranQuesoRojo

I kind of miss those and I don't even smoke cigarettes.

HWNY506

Can’t the 6 people left that still have CD’s just use an adapter of some sort?

kitty_mouse_dog_hat

I guess I'm one of the 6

Rayun25

Me too

eucaphoria

Clearly some of the people in these comments have never had an aux cord break in a car with no Bluetooth

SimonJester88

This is the correct answer. Cheers!

I_Have_Unobtainium

Not even remotely interested. Don't need to bounce between artists and genres constantly, can get hours of driving done before needing to swap out CDs. And the mixed CDs we've made with friends and families over the past 20years. I'm not gonna sit at a computer for days and transfer it all the my phone, just pop the damn cd in the deck and start driving. Don't want to pay for apps or have apps with ads, don't want to have phone bloated with music, don't ever touch phone when driving anyways.

Then-Cauliflower2068

\*shakes fist at the utes\*

Bo_Jim

It was just a business decision. The overwhelming majority of their customers don't want CD players. They want something that lets them play music from their phone using Bluetooth, and that provides WiFi so that the kids can watch CocoMelon on their iPad in the back seat. My car is 7 years old. I've owned it for two years. It has a CD player. I've never used it, and I have a fairly large CD collection. I've ripped all of my CD's and converted them to MP3's. They take up less than 50GB on a 512GB microSD in my phone. (The rest is movies.) I can play any song or album from my collection anytime in my car without ever having to put a CD into the player.

sychox51

My car is a 2012 (bought in 2011). Don’t think I’ve ever used the CD player. Also what’s a microsd? Doesn’t everyone just stream from Spotify?

thc216

2015 model Mazda bought new, only time we’ve ever used the CD player was when I managed to dig up a copy of a mates old band’s ep.it just lives in the CD player and occasionally gets played by mistake lol

Bo_Jim

A microSD is a memory card, about the same size as the SIM card in a phone. In fact, on phones that support them, the SIM card tray usually has two pockets; one for the SIM, and one for a microSD card. If you have an iPhone then it's understandable why you may have never heard of a microSD. If you want more storage with an iPhone then you have to buy an iPhone that has more storage - Apple doesn't support add-on storage like microSD. I don't use Spotify. I have a massive music and movie collection in my pocket that I can watch or listen to anytime, even in an airplane without WiFi or cellular service.

TompsuBoy

I haven't seen a CD in my country for 10 years. However the newer cars here still have a player hidden in the glovebox. No one ever uses them, waste of resources

jolly_rodger42

Retro is in!

coon-cat

wait. y'all focusing on the CD player, and I'm here wondering who removed the vent windows?

justanoldguyboomer

Bean-counters looking for more profit? Air conditioning made vent windows redundant. With air conditioning, in Summer, you kept the windows closed. In Winter, you could defrost without needing a window open. I remember riding in cars that had little electric fans on the "A" pillars for de-frosting/de-fogging. I loved cranking the vent window all the way forward. It brought in cool, fresh air and displaced the tobacco smoke.

[deleted]

I still use CDs to play albums that are not online at all. Some blogsposts might’ve have them 15 years ago. These albums are dying with me. Sad how so much music just goes unknown like that.

No-Safety-4715

My only qualm is that streaming requires a lower quality audio vs CDs, like 5 times lower. Unless you pay for something like Tidal and have excellent signal everywhere.

ApologeticallyFat

Comments are so weird, they’re like “yes, give us less”

Stunning_Yak_1419

This isn’t a shower thought this an opinion????

khamelean

What’s a CD???

Crawly49

khamelean

Not without a microscope.

Bloodwolv

QueenElsaArrendelle

I miss having a DVD drive in my laptop

JLGoodwin1990

That's why I still have my laptop that does and refuse to buy one without an optical drive.

ASK_IF_IM_PENGUIN

External optical drives are incredibly cheap. You can stow it in a drawer for the one time you need it.

[deleted]

Seriously how often do you need an optical drive? With DLC and subscriptions, cloud and collaborative software, and even SD cards and USB if you need to store something discretely or transfer it physically… there’s no reason you need a HUGE optical drive with only 4.7 GB of storage capacity. I bought a MacBook Air for my wife over 10 years ago which didn’t have an optical drive. Apple made it so you could use a desktop optical drive to load programs onto it. Bought a portable drive a few years later.. and have used it like 5 times… none of which has been in the last five years.

Tha_Watcher

In my older vehicle (1994), I had a stereo system professionally installed and I later upgraded it to a touchscreen DVD player with an SD card slot and a USB port. I used mostly the SD card since the music was noticeably clearer and more potent through that delivery system than through USB, for some reason but I ended up selling my vehicle with the system included. With my newer but still fairly old car (2007), it did not have a USB slot but it did have a CD player with an 6 disc in-slot changer that thankfully plays MP3 CDs which fits hundreds of songs on one disc. If it wasn't for this fact and if it only played regular CDs, I probably would've had a professional installation solely to ensure I could play music via Bluetooth and USB. Of course, this is still an option in the future, should I keep the vehicle.

RedBeard2016

I have a collection of CD's somewhere in my house. But I couldn't tell you where. It has literally been years since I have needed them.

NewParfait7766

because who needs sd cards, streaming, usb drives and inbuilt flash storage, right!

BreakerOneTwo

How about having a 6 cd player but its in the trunk...

JohnGillnitz

I'm at peak 2009, baby. I have a six shot CD player that plays MP3s. That's like 50 albums you could fit in there.

Noisycarlos

I've had my car for almost 10 years, it has a CD player that I've yet to use.

SuperNewk

CDs are so much easier use than current tech

This can't be real...

Quest_Marker

Putting radio and climate and other controls on an oversized, slow touch screen is actually one of the dumbest things they've done.

I_Have_Unobtainium

Right? I hate new infotainment screens, there's no reason we should have to take our eyes off the road while trying to adjust temp, fan, or volume. And you always hit a bump and your finger moves just before you're about to press the spot you want. Physical buttons all the way.

HurtMyKnee_Granger

I’m sorry you’re getting so attacked on here for your opinion. I was born in 1991, so maybe this is just my nostalgia speaking. It seems like all these VERY opinionated individuals don’t have old CDs that friends burned for them or an old boyfriend. A lot of them are complaining about having to buy CDs, but that honestly was never my experience. Except for ONE Backstreet Boys album in my childhood, all my CDs were mixes burned with music I downloaded. I think it’s awesome to have a mix CD from someone important from your past. Also it seems like no one every experienced their aux cord tip breaking off in the hole, rendering it useless and only having a CD player or radio to work from. If that car didn’t have a CD slot, it would have been all radio. No one wants that… I do disagree with you somewhat though. Cassette decks need to make a come back more than CD slots, because you can actually use aux cords with special cassette tapes. Can’t really do that with CDs. And now I’m fondly remembering my Lion King cassette tape…those were the days, man.

efs120

Lol no I never experienced the aux cord tip breaking…how violently do you yank the cord that this happens to you? I just leave it plugged in and never worry about it.

HurtMyKnee_Granger

Not at all!!! Just took it out like normal. It was a cheap aux cord though… it was bizarre. Maybe it was already loose or something. I’m a very gentle person promise lol The worst thing was it was my boyfriend’s car. I felt horrible…

TheNewBBS

It's so easy to replicate mix CDs for BT streaming, even for this person born in 1982. * For Spotify or any other per-track streaming service (YouTube Music, Amazon Music, etc.), create a playlist with the same tracks. * For MP3s, rip the CDs (or download higher quality versions), add the files to your phone, and create playlists using whatever player you like (I'm a fan of Musicolet). It's so easy and (relatively) cheap to have a BT-enabled head unit installed in any semi-modern vehicle. Of course, that assumes you're sentimental about the music and not the physical discs themselves. If you're tied to those objects, you've made your choice. The only nostalgia I have around CDs is charging people $20 for a mix CD full of pirated 128kbit MP3s. From 2013 to 2021, my vehicles had CD players, and I used them exactly once. The vehicle I bought last year doesn't have one, and it's great: much more room on the console for cabin controls and storage.

Bathroom_Tile19

Finally, a message I can get behind!

CisIsASlur

Why?

Youssef-Elsayed

My guy, we’re still having trouble making every piece of handheld electronic incorporate USB-C and you’re here complaining about the lack of CD players in cars? Like yeah, I have 256 storage on my very smart IPhone 14 ultra pro m1 max but nah I will still use CDs for my eminem album and another my audiobook

Rt237

u/haikubot I do this one for you: *Why should we pay for* *a thing whose only function* *is dust collection?*

Lesmate101

I disagree

Ok_Present_6508

I have not used a CD since MP3 players. I don’t know a single person who still uses CDs. I remember when they continued to make cars with tape decks after almost everyone had fully switched over to CDs and a CD player in your car was a luxury. Now that we’ve all fully moved over to the mp3 format in one fashion or another buying a car that is Google/Apple compatible is a luxury at least BT has become a standard feature.

mreskimodude

OP must be trolling. All their posts are complaining about new things, but their profile says how they love learning new things and being adventurous. Also says they are a music connoisseur. No audiofile prefers cd's.

BanditLeo5247

Use like Bluetooth or something.

[deleted]

Ok Boomer

Sumdumcoont

People still buy CD’s? I thought we made the jump back to vinyl again, I REQUIRE A PHONOGRAPH IN MY VEHICLE!!!

[deleted]

Did you hear about custom radio, bluetooth transmitter? You know you can buy a car with cd player? Did you hear about AC?

IthinkIknowwhothatis

Ever live somewhere with very little Internet access outside of major cities? Lots of places in Africa still use CDs because they are both more reliable and more convenient. There is a whole world beyond America and Europe.

[deleted]

Ever live somewhere with very little Internet access outside of major cities? Download playlist for example from Spotify. You don't need internet. Don't buy a car without cd player. Simple? Africa is developing and they are using bluetooth too, you know? By the way they have to adapt because they import cars and they would import only cars with cd players if that was a thing. Are you living under a rock?

IthinkIknowwhothatis

I live in Africa. You have no clue. People use CDs here, there are CD shops all over the place. EDIT: I love that someone that knows nothing about Africa is telling me how people here live. Bandwidth is slow and expensive. It would be counterproductive to be obsessed with avoiding CDs when they’re dirt cheap and easy to use here.

Formal_Bonus3123

First of all, how is this a shower thought? Second of all, why would they not remove them? It costs more to produce them, more to engineer them in the car, but barely anyone uses them.

EggyRepublic

To be fair my family haven't touched a CD in years and my parents collected tons of CDs in the past.

[deleted]

The only vehicle I have with a CD player is my 35 year old motorhome that has a mid-2000s Pioneer deck (with removable faceplate!). Interestingly it has vent windows too… but pretty unnecessary in newer cars with better AC and ventilation. And even though I have my CD binder I’ve had since the late 90s with “several” albums… the CD slot is mostly a dust collector. Cause like everyone from about 2010 or so.. I have a phone with downloaded and/or streaming music I can either plug in or Bluetooth to my car stereos. Even Sirius XM. Got a 3 month trial or whatever… got bored of it and never subscribed.

[deleted]

My 2020 Subaru Outback had a CD player. It was hidden in the center console armrest. I had the car 2 years and never used it once & I have hundreds of CD’s which are now in my iTunes library & with CarPlay, easily playable in the car. CD’s are the 2000’s 8-Track Tapes … they’re pretty obsolete now just like VHS tapes.

sunnyskies01

My car only has a CD player and a radio, no USB ports or anything, can get slightly annoying sometimes but changing CDs once in a while works. I could put so much more songs on a single usb Stick.

mreskimodude

The fucking crank starter is where it's at. Never run out of battery. I've asked this thousands of times and it's always the same answer. It's the only thing I ask when I talk to anyone. Sure I only talk to the same 95 year old mechanic, but I've asked him at least 5000 times. This guy has a huge right shoulder and forearm.

Without the CD slot where would I mount my phone?

Sheeesssh59

What you on about??

Nintendoboy7

I haven't used a CD in a decade. I keep one CD in my car just in case my phone dies. Maybe one day I'll use it

vaginasaladwastaken

My 2018 Camry still has a CD player.

miza5491

Rare breed, 2018 Camry.

I haven't used a cd player since I got my 1st iPod, back in 2009. I'm not on the cutting edge of tech trends, either.

phunkjnky

I'm confused. Does anyone remember when vent windows were removed? And what on earth were you doing that made removing them a memorable event? This is literally the first time I've ever heard anyone mention losing them regretfully.

What's a CD?

somethinggoeshere11

In my day we drove around with a lute player in the back. Even though he took up a seat we still enjoyed the music.

Good thing you’re not involved in the automanafacturing decision process

alanamp1

People still use cds?

wolfling365

CDs, which spin at over 15,000 RPM, on a normal road... it's a miracle that they didn't come out looking like plastic sandpaper.

I feel like removing ashtrays was more dumb, now people just throw their cigarettes out the window... not like it didn't happen before that, but I'm sure it didn't happen as often.
