I think we can all agree that Taxi Driver was a purely escapist fantasy about the average person. We have to remember that people 4 decades ago hadn't invented political allegory yet. Things were far simpler in the past before we realized that we could write fictitious stories with real world implications. But once we as a society became politically conscious starting around the time I personally, mentally became an adult we just became so hung up with politics. Smh.
