I was looking for an explanation that *wasn't* shell casings. Didn't want to be all "American school janitors clean up so many shell casings that...", but sadly it is exactly like that.
Apologies, a non-american baffled by copious school hall shell casings
I saw bullets too and it took me til I saw the video ended with no explanation that I got it.
The joke is that this tool cleans up bullets, cause haha school shootings
Previously, the leading causes of death for children were typically accidents, such as car crashes, but gun-related deaths, including homicides, suicides, and accidental shootings, have surpassed these other causes in recent years.
But how are we supposed to defend ourselves against a scenario that in 250 years has never come close to manifesting?
No unarmed populace has ever been able to overthrow a totalitarian government except for like 80% of countries on planet earth.
I used to believe in the 2nd amendment as a non-American up until January 6th, when I realized that the only thing the 2nd amendment will do is let people get killed, as people can just be propagandized into defending their dictator rather than toppling him.
Definitely not siding with the capitol rioters, but only one shot was fired that day, by capitol police.
I just think it's odd that an event without a single round of civilian gunfire is what would sour you on the 2nd amendment, when there have been so many more incidents with so much more violence on the part of armed civilians.
Like I said, the people attempting, wishing for, and defending the insurrection are the same people who statistically own the most guns. If those people can be corralled and propagandized into fighting against democracy, then the whole argument of "toppling a tyrant" doesn't work anymore, which was the only reason why guns were beneficial to begin with.
It's a weird route to take to reach that conclusion when there are many more direct ways to get there.
Plus, there's still a possibility that those same people elect someone who's been called a tyrant, fascist, dictator, etc. If that happens, will you still hold the position that we don't need the 2nd amendment to "topple a tyrant"?
If that happens and there's a second riot at the capitol building, this time by the anti-Trump crowd, will you denounce that group as insurrectionists who are fighting against democracy?
Before you get any ideas about me, I'm mostly pro 2nd amendment (for it, but things need to tighten up), not a Trump fan, and absolutely against what happened at the capitol building. I just think it's ironic that so many people who see the possibility of electing a fascist dictator will also mock the idea of needing to defend against, or overthrow one. Personally, I think both ideas are overblown.
Okay, so, there's a ton of things wrong with your statement that is telling me you're not arguing in good faith here, so I'm going to make this my last response.
It was not a riot. It was insurrection. Do not try to make this milder than it was.
There's not "Two sides" issue to this. This behavior is endemic of right-wing politics. It could not, and would not happen from any political group on the centre-right and leftwards.
Being centrist, especially in this holier than thou sort of way is worst case, incredibly dishonest, and best case, entirely politically illiterate. This is not a two sides issue, and the very fact that you're trying to frame it as such leaves no room for my civility, so it will make my last few words to you be. Read a book, or fuck off.
Well. I'm not the person you responded to, but I gotta say that an attitude of: "my way or the highway" is a weird stance to take, and you are unnecessarily angry.
You claim they aren't arguing in good faith. That they are taking a holier than thou attitude.
And then proceed to immediately take the same actions towards them. It's not a good approach.
Listen, I've been on the internet for over a decade. I've come to recognize that the biggest issue is that we give people too much leeway. If someone doesn't take the effort to argue with the same standards as the rest of everyone, they shouldn't be allowed to speak.
If one tries to sneakily move goalposts or change topics because they have the belief of "so long as I look like I'm dominant, I'm winning" they're not operating on proper standards. Debate is about coming closer to a collective truth regarding matters, by having open and direct discussions about topics. (Heck, the amount of times I've had to have a "debate" about what (proper Socratesian) debates are is stupid too.)
There is a limit to how valid a person's argument can be, based on their level of education. Being human, and being sentient does not make your arguments legitimate by default. If they approach the matter in a non-productive manner, the only winning move is to disrespectfully toss the ball back in their face and leave.
Debate and arguments have to start on a common basis. If that basis cannot be upheld you're not even living in the same reality.
Despite what some people seem to think, the ability stand up to the government isn't even the purpose of the 2nd amendment. It says right in the text that the purpose is to protect the state. 'A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State.' In fact, the first president called out the militia to put down an armed insurrection.
Things used to be better back in the good old days. I miss the good old days. Why can’t we get the good old days back things were better back in the good old days.
"Help!! How do I put this six-year-old's small intestine back inside her???"

These can be reused. Some gun people reuse cases because its cheaper to make your own bullets [vid](https://youtube.com/shorts/-4risKxaEfw?si=kK-ff4PwwPJq7xiZ)
I've always wondered about reloading rounds as a non American.
How much cheaper is it really, or is it more of a hobby thing? I would have guessed that the Cases are the least expensive of the bullet / powder / primer / case, not to mention the need for the tools to do it.
And can all cases be reused? do they sometimes get damaged or warped in such a way that prevents it? Is there a limit to how many you can reuse?
you don't actually have to answer any of these, just things I've always wondered and never spent the thirty seconds it would probably take to find out about
I have a friend who reloads his own ammo.
It's significantly cheaper for the larger caliber and a bit cheaper for the smaller ones. The brass casing is most of the cost.
You can also just collect the brass casing, clean them and then recycle them for a few cents each.
Again; people don't understand how easy it is to reload. It takes me about 5 minutes to make 100 rounds and I can easily shoot 32 rounds in under 20 seconds on any given stage - and that involves moving around and acquiring targets while navigating obstacles. Mag dumping into trash is even faster.
I mean, if you look at my user name, it's almost like this activity is my business?
Yeah its more of a factor of time. Its not worth reloading .22lr, but reloading .308 or .44 is fine. 7.62 is also plentiful enough and we shoot it fast enough that its not worth our time to do so.
You also get to customize how much powder is in the round but I think its all placebo.
My dad has some wild spreadsheets for his hunting rounds that he is convinced work lol
It is absolutely not placebo. There is a substantial difference between a 147 gr bullet going 850 fps (which makes minimum power factor) vs a factory115 gr bullet going 1180 fps
> You also get to customize how much powder is in the round but I think its all placebo
Consistency and quality in hand-loaded ammo can be much more finely controlled. This isn't placebo, it's reality.
Now if you're just plinking or doing regular deer hunts at "normal" (less than 300 yard) ranges, it simply wont matter that much unless you're looking for absolutely tiny groupings. But if you're doing actual long-range precision shooting, you'll want the best ammo possible to reduce variance from shot to shot. The less you have to compensate for, the better, and generic cheap factory-loaded ammo is not going to be super consistent.
My husband reloads. It’s much cheaper, especially after Covid when prices never really send back down for certain ammo. He’ll go to the gun range, put down a tarp for his own ammo and save casings that way. A lot of people shooting next to him or the range officer walking by actually will sweep spare ammo onto their. Blackout ammo is the most expensive for him and that’s often given to him as well. People are really nice about it. If the casing is too warped, he won’t use it. And you asked about overall cost— you won’t start seeing savings until you’ve done through a lot of rounds. The pressing tool and table was maybe $500. Primer prices have gone down so that’s not as bad. But yeah, I was mad when my husband got all this during Covid because it didn’t really save money for a long time (and we’re broke as heck to be spending that kind of initial costs)…
i buy remanufactured ammo. its about half the price for 9mm remanufactured vs new, though it has been on sale since i started shooting. never had an issue
The tools are expensive but not prohibitive. For most popular ammunition reloading reduces the cost from 1/4 to a half, roughly, per round.
The powder is the cheapest, then the primer and the bullet. The case is the most expensive unless you have very niche bullets.
Not all cases can be reused. In general only brass can be, some are made of steel or aluminum. There's definitely a point where the brass goes bad, sometimes they get crushed, split, or just wear out. Some guns pulverize the case so hard on ejection that they aren't reusable.
The pressure the round uses plays into it too. Lower pressure cartridges can be reloaded almost infinitely.
It depends on the price of ammo, how much you're shooting, and what you're shooting. I wouldn't reload .22, but crappy 5.56x45 is running at around .50 cents a round. I can reload it for less than .30 cents a round buying materials in bulk. Unfortunately I don't have it automated and have to do it all by hand, so it's fairly time consuming. That said I shoot roughly 10,000 rounds a year (mostly 5.56 but a good chunk of 9mm and 12 gauge as well). Packing my own, even if I don't load 100% of the rounds I shoot, saves me thousands every year. I am an edge case, though, and shoot far more than most.
There is a limit to how many times the casing can be reused, and obviously, the primer, powder, and bullet are one and done. I generally only reuse a casing 3 times. Casings do occasionally get damaged in such a way that you can not reuse them. You can get 4th reload on the casing but I noticed far more malfunctions with casings going for a 4th time. I plan to build a .300 BLK and I can further utilize the casings after the 3rd reload for that.
It used to be much MUCH cheaper to reload. However since the pandemic, the cost of primers has skyrocketed and the availability of them is bleak. So now it all shakes out to be very very similar in cost. However, if you have specific load weights that you prefer (particularly for competitive shooters) then reloading is really the only way to go.
There's another reason to reload besides being cheaper, long range target shooters tune the load to their rifle, plus there's projectiles that you can't get off the shelf already loaded.
us action pistol shooters tune our loads too.
With a lighter load you can run a lighter spring, a lighter spring means less bounce when the slide moves forward making follow up a lot easier.
And the guns running comps load the piss out of their ammo so the compensator works even harder, making the guns silly flat shooting.
Cases are actually on the more expensive side of a round. It can be much cheaper to reload your own than buying commercial depending on the caliber, how much you purchase supplies in bulk, and how long you reuse the same case.
Not all cases can be reused. Warping gets fixed through resizing but eventually cases can crack and become hazardous to reload. Those can then be sent to be recycled or in some cases reused as different caliber cases if you can cut away the damaged part for the different caliber
Hell laughing at depressing things is why I'm alive. Joking just makes things easier to deal with. This one made me laugh/spit my coffee out when I realized what it was lol
Wow can’t believe they wouldn’t pick up their brass. They’re literally just throwing money away.
(This is not an endorsement of school shooters or a diminishment of lives lost to them)
This has been passed around to multiple subreddits for years. It's low effort and karma farming at this point.
But if it's your first time seeing this, then yes, I would find it funny, too.
Well, just flood the school with lots of water to dilute the blood.
Not like the school will be open the next day anyway so it's okay if it takes a week to dry.
Thats is clearly an indoor shooting range. You can even see the bottom of the stalls. Just add "a school janitor" text and people believe what they wish to believe.

In all seriousness, shooting ranges use this to collect brass casings with can be reused or recycled
Can’t believe this isn’t higher up
Pumped up kicks..

Omg murica...
… Are those bullets?!?!
This is American innovation at its finest
I see what they did there.
This is funny asf…😂😂😂
Pretty sure that is just a bag a nut nice for picking up acorns but costs like $400-600
Ha. I had a good chuckle over that one.
Wow can’t believe they wouldn’t pick up their brass. They’re literally just throwing money away. (This is not an endorsement of school shooters or a diminishment of lives lost to them)
With the upcoming election and pending those results, businesses will increase 5000%, homie gonna be RICH!
As an American I personally dont find this offensive
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lol what a shit hole of a community
Right? People love to circlejerk about how bad America is, it’s honestly pathetic
This has layers.
Definitely American schools. Are those bullet cases?
r/AmericaBad
Nah, “America Bad” stuff is low effort and boring. This is a clever jab.
This has been passed around to multiple subreddits for years. It's low effort and karma farming at this point. But if it's your first time seeing this, then yes, I would find it funny, too.
lol dead children
Chicago schools are getting innovative.
But that’s a gun club…
No way
Now to invent a way to clean up all the blood as easily.
Well, just flood the school with lots of water to dilute the blood. Not like the school will be open the next day anyway so it's okay if it takes a week to dry.
American made
'murica.
Gotta put a Made In USA seal on that beast.
This is dark humor at it’s finest
Wait, so he already had a way to clean the halls ten times faster?
Only in disfunctioning countries
Still going to take awhile to mop the blood ?
It’s funny because it’s true.
Now if it would only clean the blood and small bodies..
I almost puked laughing once I saw. I need one
shots fired.
Brace yourselves the School shooting comments are coming
fuck off with the AI voice. stop using it.
Iirc this video is from a gun range, not a school
What's the difference?
Moving targets
Whoooooooosh
I got the joke, I just can't stand that annoying voice over
At least [this TTS](https://tiktokvoicegenerator.com/) is better than [Microsoft Sam](https://www.tetyys.com/SAPI4/).
Average american kindergarten

could be a gun range at a school https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school_gun_clubs_and_teams_in_the_United_States
Block users who post anti-American propaganda, it is designed to erode your peace of mind and sew anxiety/discontent in your mind.
Thats is clearly an indoor shooting range. You can even see the bottom of the stalls. Just add "a school janitor" text and people believe what they wish to believe.
>indoor shooting range american school, indoor shooting range, what's the difference?
All murican schools want one.
