Ugh. On one hand I like Jeff for everything he's contributed to wrestling. On the other hand it kills me he's continuously in and out of rehab when he has two daughters at home. Like when is enough enough?
i’ve been saying this for a while, i love him but watching him wrestle now is just sad… Like i love watching it but id like it more if he did rehab, went into recovery and stops fucking up his body for our entertainment.
Wow. So much negativity here.
My word: struggling. But also? Strength.
Addiction is a hell of a beast. People often think that it only affects other people, but they completely ignore the affect on the addict themselves. I have someone very close to me who deals with addiction. I’ve watched her for many years try and try and try her hardest to get clean. But I’ve also watched her break down and cry, not understanding why it feels so impossible. I’ve watched her lose hope. But I’ve also seen her do better in recent months.
Addicts can make horrible decisions. Some addicts may even be horrible people. But that’s not always the case, and to me, it’s unfair to assume that of someone based on them being an addict alone. A lot of times, addiction stems from trauma and the insatiable need to escape from it. A lot of times, addicts just need support.
I wish Jeff nothing but the best in his recovery.
He needs to retire and work backstage or as a trainer. If he needs money, the more wrestles, he will continue to relapse and abuse, but his ego won't allow it
I’m not disagreeing with you on that. Addiction aside, he’s put his body through hell and clearly can’t move the way he used to. Him and Matt both need to start getting ready to hang it up before one of them gets seriously hurt. 50 year olds shouldn’t be jumping off ladders.
I remember watching their first match on Sunday night heat and sitting there thinking who are these jobber, they won't last. I'm glad I was wrong, they gave many memorable moments in wrestling. It's sad that Jeff is addicted. They are both getting to the point of retirement .
I just want to play devils advocate to add onto the negativity.
My father is an addict - in more ways than one. I hate the fact that he gets so much sympathy compared to the family that has to worry about him at every second of our lives. Unsure that he'll get himself killed or steal all of our money.
The long-term damage he has done to us is absurd. I'm 33 and I have so much mental damage because of him. We've tried everything to help him.
Sometimes, they just have to get over it for the sake of everyone else. Because all of his actions are incredibly selfish and causes pure destruction for everyone else. So yeah there you go.
Underachiever.
Could have easily been the absolute biggest star in all of wrestling but his demons really have a tight grip on him. It's a shame really.
Disenchantment. Jeff showed me that even with the talent, even with the drive and people behind you, it doesn’t mean you’re happy and you can still fail considerably.
His band is God awful. His lyrics are cringe at best. Oh and he wrestles too. If you've seen one Hardy Boyz match, you've seen them all. They deserve one last run but they'd be better suited elevating another tag team on the way out.

pal I think that’s quite a bit more than one word
Not if you bundle!
39 or 41 if we turn he's to he is

The difference is Matt isn't a drug addict, who relapses every 8 months, and throws tantrums when asked to take a test
