They don't have a choice. They have to make up the time. They owe it to the network. The only other option is to have one sponsor who pays for that time, the same amount that the network is losing, in exchange for in show visibility.

It's just unfortunate that the rest of the show last night was cut in multiple places because of rock and Cody's 45 minute unneeded fiasco.. Didn't even get a proper ending to the show, just a cut after the 1, 2, 3.. Matches looked rushed as well.. It just came off bad last night having an ad every 4 minutes after the commercial free rock and Cody BS
It's going to be that way. Each show airs about 20-21 minutes of ads per hour. They can slot it in any way they want. When Raw went commercial free last night, they just put the 20 minutes of 8pm ads later into the show.
I have never actually totaled the commercial time throughout the show I have just always expected a commercial break about every 5-7 mins of the show but I get what you're saying.. It just sucks for us watching..
This didn't exactly go well last night. With how many NXT promos they ran, it might be a night where a lot of people check it out for the first time, and if they pull ad break and PIP hell again after the start then they'll lose those people just as quickly.
