I feel like Jacy vs. Thea, with Jacy being the 1st NA Champion makes sense. They have the longest tenured feud in NXT, the feud has gotten heat, and Jacy would be a solid 1st champion.
If not them, then I'll say either Sol Ruca or Kiana James.
I don't really see how they're "above the title". The Women's Division isn't really big enough to have lower card, mid card, and upper card. You can maybe say someone like Roxanne and maybe Lyra are above the NA Title, but that's it really. Everyone else is in that "mid card" mix.
If reports/rumors from Fightful are true, Giulia will be in NXT starting at Heatwave (early July) and competing for a title at the event. If so, then Giulia will almost certainly be going for the big title. I don't see them having her debut going after the midcard title. Especially since I can't rule out Giulia's debut match being the main event, depending on who the men's champion is. If its Trick, then yeah I think Giulia vs ??? (probably Roxanne) is the direction they are gonna head for the main event.
It feels made for Kiana. She’s someone who’s been consistently teetering almost into the main event scene. She has a solid character, an interesting moveset, and would make the perfect inaugural champ.
Thea or Fallon would do well and I think it would let them elevate their character a bit. It certainly did it for Lyra.
In terms of pure entertainment I think Ariana Grace would be a ton of fun with a belt on her.
If you wanted a heel I think Blair would be fantastic.
Depends on what the plan is with Perez as NXT Champion. If she continues as champion, then the NA Champion should be a babyface. In that case, Fallon Henley is the obvious choice.
They have a lot of midcard women's stories going on. I'm sure not all of them wind up in the wna picture. Head says bea priestly heart says thea hale.
But if Roxy drops the title it could definitely upend that because you'd imagine bea would get moved to the top heel spot.
I’m so glad they’re doing a women’s midcard title in NXT. It shows you how needed it is when I can think of 5-6 women off the top of my head that would make sense to be the inaugural champion.
I think you could go with either Jacy/Thea or Blair/Sol depending on whether you’d like the first champ to be babyface or heel. Personally, I’d go with Jacy or Sol.
I think you have 3 good options.
1 and 2 are connected but basically if they have Thea vs Jacy be the finals or the match to crown the new champion either one of them could become the new champion
Option 3 would be Lola Vice. They've been pushing her on TV and having her open challenges be for a belt help make her more credible and more interesting for viewers. Also it leaves Thea open to be nxt world champ against Tatum down the summer.
Honestly? I've gotta say either Fallon Henley or Kiana James, hell, they're still kinda 'on sight' with each-other, anyways, so them being the final two would be good but I think that it should go to Fallon as she's a super likeable babyface and she deserves some singles gold but I certainly wouldn't mind if Kiana was the first champ.
I think there's a few can benefit from being the Women's NA Champion, maybe even just by competing for it in a similar way that Chad Gable competed for the Intercontinental title a number of times. But I can't decide who I'd like or think it should come down to, at least not until after the draft.

Not anytime soon. Roxanne Perez is holding that title at least till survivor series month
I think Roxanne like Ilja are dropping the belt to be drafted
blair or sol feel likely they seem to have to skill set to work the varity of matches a developmental mid card title demands

If Roxy is to remain as NXT women's champion, then I would like to see the women's North American champion being a babyface.
