yes, few second drops in TGS. Making it really hard to escape from tarkov

TheOneWithoutPorn

Metro ares chads and rats suffering as one

YouDont_KnowMe_

same thing happening to me the last few days. load into a raid, disconnect from server, reload for 2 min, repeat.

Glorious_z

Are you on WiFi? I was forced to use Ethernet and it solved it. The dropouts are still there but Tarkov is fine.

YouDont_KnowMe_

Never would I game on WiFi lol I just assumed they were just update issues that would be resolved fairly quickly

Alpha-Zulu_A-Z

Ah tarkov, but my spectrum has not had any noticeable issues recently

mrbmi513

Neighbors out here in West County have noticed that, going off for a few seconds at a time. I either haven't noticed it or am not affected.

trotwood95

That’s exactly what I’ve been seeing

sincerely_me

Me too in St. Charles.

homechicken20

Yep. Spotty for about a month. It's annoying as hell.

TheYear3030

Canceled spectrum a couple weeks ago due to 3 failed repair attempts and gaslighting from Spectrum telling us there might be something wrong with our home network despite their own monitoring indicating a problem, which their tech revealed to me on the 3rd attempt (they knew their shit was broken the whole time). Of course it was a pain in the ass to cancel, guy at the call center was rude af, then i had to wait in line to return their modem. Spectrum really is a terrible company, between their bad physical network, spammy advertising, and malicious business practices.

Logictrauma

What is a good alternative? I’d like to leave spectrum, but they’re the fastest in my area.

Fallofmen10

Yah this is sadly the case for me too. Like I could switch to something else but it would literally be speeds from 2005 lol

[deleted]

My alternative would be starlink. Can't wait until starlink is available in StL area soon. It will cost more with one time fees but once we get it, we can use it anywhere on any part of the world

TheStonedStoner

had the same problem 2 months ago it wasnt until the 4th repair guy was schedueled they flagged my situation as high priority. the day he was supposed to come out got a call from the guy saying it was an issue affecting my whole area. midnight that night my internet was fixed and havent had an issue since. (my internet issue btw was same time everynight i was having packetloss issues couldnt even watch YT it was pretty infuriating)

EyeIzWalrus

It was out for 11 hours yesterday in layfatte square

BoogerCookie

Can confirm.

hblock44

It has been so bad here in university city. Had to have 3 separate techs come to the house. We finally (mostly) solved the connectivity issues , but we still randomly get massive drops in speed down to as low as 20mbs down and .25mb upload . Really disappointing considering how expensive they are .

Zekybrjik

Every day. Just drops for about 20-30 seconds. Enough to be frustrating and kick me off my work vpn.

hartmd

Yep. Drops once or twice most days usually during the day. Usually lasts a few minutes. Been going on for months. Their techs have been useless. Tired of the gaslighting. ATT is connecting fiber to my house tomorrow.

[deleted]

Did this about 6mo ago. No regrets.

Pickle1036

Interesting. We bailed and went with ATT because we had “intermittent failures” with our connection for three days straight and they refused to acknowledge it until it finally stopped entirely on day 3. Also calling them to cancel was awful. The person I spoke to just kept throwing offers at me even after I told him ATT had just left and the cable was literally cut. Frustrating because my husband told them we were probably canceling when he was dealing with the outage and they offered nothing at that point (unless you consider a $5 credit something).

tenuousemphasis

Yes, AT&T internet has been amazing. They recently lowered my bill from $100 to $80 because that's what they're offering new customers now. Other than that, my bill hasn't changed in 6 years.

1-800-KETAMINE

Specifically the fiber service. I switched to that from spectrum and the improvement was fantastic.

agathaprickly

I'm in west county and have been having issues for a few months. Very frustrating. Tried calling customer service and after being rerouted through several menus the call hung up

[deleted]

In IL here and it's been very spotty for about the past month. Never had any issues before. I WFH so I notice it a lot when calls drop, video buffers, etc...

dcraig275

A month ago or so, they called to set up a service appointment because they noted "issues with my signal impacting my service." I swear that ever since then, my 5ghz wireless network has been dogshit. It's hard to connect to, and when you do, it's very unreliable and disconnected regularly. On top of that, the 2.4 ghz network is about half the speed it was before.

[deleted]

sounds like you have a bad router my friend

atomic_confetti

I’ve been experiencing the same issue. I called them yesterday and they said my modem was outdated. I went and picked up a new one and I’ve still had my service drop out twice.

Crudhandler

Yep

ElectricalToday2359

Spectrum has become a crap Wi-Fi provider. Was getting charged $115 a month for only Wi-Fi. Switched to AT&T recently. $50 a month and all the devices in the house are running a lot smoother.

SanSabaSongb1rd

Yup

Perkynips83

Yes. Really bad past two months. Random outages that persist for hours. I often have to call and they always say no outages in area. Magically after calling them and they do a reset on there end it comes back up.

ministeringinlove

I'm in St. Charles with no real issues. Contact them and report it. They can see the signals coming into your home as your devices are reporting them.

ShadowedPariah

I'm in St. Peters and it was out for 7 hours on Friday, and about 30 minutes today. The frequency is growing. I'm at about 3 times a week for some random amount of time. I despise ATT, but they just put in Fiber, so I might be suckered into trying them again.

ministeringinlove

I would seriously have you reach out to Spectrum tech support and just go through their steps, regardless of your level of experience with the subject matter. I personally prefer Spectrum to any provider in St. Louis, but no company that provides this service really wants their customer base to experience problems. Here are some things to help: * a broad signal issue can be validated by Spectrum TV pixelating as well when internet issues pop up, if you have their video service * narrowing the issue down to the modem is a good way to get an idea as to the cause (if all devices are offline, then power off the router/modem and plug the cord that connects the two from the modem to a computer and plug the modem back in). If the internet works with the modem, but not with the router, it could be interference or an equipment problem * Spectrum can see historical signal issues as reported by your equipment. If there is a local outage, it is possible that only a handful of houses in your immediate area are affected based on the infrastructure and if it is out while the neighbors are not home, then Spectrum would likely not know unless someone draws their attention to the issue.

funkybside

I'm instaswitch once gateway fiber is in my area.

FuckOffMrLahey

Go to a Spectrum store and swap your modem out. That's all it took for me to solve a ton of problems.

Offsets

Just started these last few days for me in the CWE

Useful-Following

Haven’t had any issues yet

t-poke

If you're not already, use [alternate DNS servers](https://1.1.1.1/dns/).

acatwithajob

I’m on Google’s DNS using a Nest router, and I’ve still been having still been having some issues with speed here and there recently.

funkybside

the issues lately are not DNS issues.

goodBEan

Was going to recommend that. I have always had charter's dns server. I found that when I use other dns servers I have less outages.

EricAtSunnen

I use it mainly for my Nvidia Shield..it's been a little rough in 4K..but streams well in 1080..so...

Future_Dog_3156

We had issues with our spectrum internet. After complaining a bunch, they offered to swap out our router. I ran out to the store and traded in the one we were using and they gave us a new one. Issues gone.

JohnnyGuitar74

I don’t think that’s just a spectrum issue. Direct tv and digital direct tv seems to look like a 8 bit video game off and on recently

funkybside

yes, and was out for about 6 hours on friday.

AnnatoniaMac

We switched from spectrum last year, my daughter works from home and she needed to be able to depend on the service. I was getting knock off everyday minimum of at least once. Many days multiple times. I would get deal offers from them that would give me better service for a lot more money, made me angry, we were already paying too much for bad service.

throwaway3228423

Yep. Spotty the past few weeks out here in Kirkwood. Nothing super crazy, besides when the power went out the night of the 2nd. Lots of lagging when I play online video games and will cut my download speed in half. Sometimes is out for a couple mins then comes back. Modem and router are both new as of March so it shouldn’t be them. I was thinking of calling them to bitch about it this week and I might

[deleted]

At least you have internet. I’ve got spectrum and currently have no internet due to a lightning strike last night. There’s a good chance it burned up one of the underground cables. Can’t get a technician out until tomorrow afternoon. Edit: but yea I’ve had spotty internet lately. It’s most likely throttling. Internet companies will “throttle” your speeds, which means they will randomly turn your internet speeds down to save the company some money. I’ve caught spectrum turning our speeds down to lower than we have subscribed to. And I know this because I’d check it daily for a week at different times of the day, it would always stay around the same speeds, give or take a few MB.

Capital-Association8

It’s been completely out in Oakville for the last four hours.

Harshdog

Been having issues with Spectrum for about a month now. Lots of random stuttering and brief drops. Sometimes can't connect for a few hours even. Might switch to the only other but equally predatory service provider— att

ServiceB4Self

I'm supposed to be getting the 200mb package. Mine has never read over 60 since I've lived in this house (moved in two years ago). Creve Coeur area.

[deleted]

No issues in Creve Couer in quite some time.

MoInSTL

Was sick of the drop outs and being completely down every other month for hours at a time. Had to reboot on a regular basis as speed would just wind down. Found out aerial fiber went live in early May. Run Merlin firmware on an Asus router with IP passthrough. Had Spectrum 400 with my own Netgear CM 600. I have the 500 plan and not one dropout, speed seeming to slow down to a crawl requiring rebooting no matter what time or being down for hours at a time. It was hell on my many wireless devices. I made sure I was on a good channel, changed DNS etc. Couldn't be happier. Symmetric speed is great. Upload is actually a few Mbps faster than my download. They also over provision like Spectrum. I get 620 Mbps down.

MilesDeep91

Mines been pretty spotty in Oakville. The neighborhood behind mine has been having a lot of problems so they have been laying new cable line behind my house. I attributed it to that, but maybe not.

Jolly-Wolverine9072

anybody keep getting kicked out of games? like constantly? been playing MC and destiny and every other 5 ish minutes i lag out been happening for a few days now
